TDD-LTE Ecosystem Status

TD-LTE @ 2.3G is used in China ONLY NOW and it is mainly driven by China Mobile.

From industry perspective, TD-LTE is supposed to be mature after 2012.

Chipset/Terminal Vendors

Qualcomm: Delay TD-LTE for once: Chipset available @10Q1, small volumes of terminals (CPE, USB) may be @2011 and mature by 2012+.

Other vendors like Hisilicon, ST-Ericsson, Freescale, Nokia, also has the similar plan.

Operators

China Mobile:

As one of main leaders in TDD standards, China Mobile selects LTE TDD as the evolution of TDS, to compete with competitors in future. They

wants to evolve to mainstream standard.

FT-Orange/France is conducting LTE trial (both [email protected] and [email protected]).

In Western Europe a Tier-1 operator is working with Huawei for using [email protected] for mobile backhaul solution.

In East Europe there is a Tier-2 operator which is preparing [email protected] TDD trial with Huawei with planning for commercial rollout in H1-2011.

In APAC Region we are engaging talks with a Tier-2 operator looking for migrating to LTE [email protected].
