The fifth BGI Congress Bue-nos Aires Argentina 2002:For the recovery of Argentinafully lived up to its slogan:without doubt the courage,professionality and dedicationof Alberto Indij, ThomasLichtmann, Javier Indij, MatasManasowicz , Rafael MartnezRaymonda, their partners,colleagues and friends willsucceed in overcoming thedifficult situation in Argentina.
This congress, held in the in-comparable setting of theCaesar Park Hotel, Buenos Ai-res, combined all theingredients for making theassociation increase the perso-nal and professional tiesexisting between the members.
The speeches on the firstworking day were of aspecially high standard, withspeakers from the associationand other distinguishedguests before a numerousand active audience. But timewas also devoted to the busi-ness of the internationalassociation of independentlaw firms Balms GroupInternational,which celebratedits Annual General Meeting thefollowing day, where time was
given to speeches of a moredomestic but not lessinteresting nature, anddiscussions resulting inimportant decisions for thedevelopment of our association.At the pace of Tango, with two
fabulous shows, of the Esqui-na de Carlos Gardel andTheatre El Nacional, wediscovered or rediscovered afantastic city, its artistic streakinto Mirta Kumpfermincsstudio, its past and present,gastronomy and more than

anything the warmth andfriendship of its inhabitants.
The congress concluded witha Gala Dinner which all thosepresents will remember withspecial emotion, since it was
abolutely perfect and closed aGreat Balms Group Inter-national Congress.

Congreso BGI 2002, Buenos Aires - ArgentinaEl quinto Congreso BGI Bue-nos Aires Argentina 2002: Forthe recovery of Argentina cum-pli ampliamente con su lemaesperanzador: con seguridadla valenta, profesionalidad yentrega de Alberto Indij,Thomas Lichtmann, JavierIndij, Matas Manasowicz , Ra-fael Martnez Raymonda, sus
socios, colegas y amigos con-tribuyen a que se supere la di-ficil situacin de Argentina.
Este congreso, en el marco in-comparable del Caesar Parkde Buenos Aires, reuni todoslos ingredientes para que lared progrese en los lazos per-sonales y profesionales exis-
tentes entre los socios. Lasconferencias del primer da detrabajo, da 10 de mayo, al-canz un nivel particularmen-te alto, entre ponentes de lared e invitados de gran renom-bre, con una asistencia nume-rosa y activa. Pero tambinhubo tiempo para evocar lavida propia de la red interna-cional de despachos indepen-dientes Balms Group Inter-national, que celebr suAsamblea General Anual elda siguiente, con espaciosdedicados a ponencias deambito ms propio pero nomenos interesante, y charlasdesembocando en resolucio-nes importantes para el desa-rrollo de nuestra red.
Al ritmo del Tango, con dos es-pectculos fabulosos, el de laesquina de Carlos Gardel y laTanguera en el Teatro El Na-cional, descubrimos o volvi-mos a descubrir tambin unaciudad fanststica, su vena ar-
tstica en el taller de MirtaKumpferminc, su pasado ypresente, su gastronoma, ysobretodo el calor y la amis-tad de sus habitantes. Culmi-n el Congreso con una cenade Gala que todos los asisten-tes recordaremos con especialemocin, por lo perfecto quesali y porque clausur unGran Congreso de BalmsGroup International.
`Gracias a nuestros anfitrio-nes, el Estudio Indij, Licht-mann, Martnez Raymonda yasociados!
La llegada con cara de sueo al aeropuerto trs un vuelo de 13
horas y la subida de adrenalina provocada por el trayecto des-
de el aeropuerto hasta el hotel en la hora punta de Buenos
Aires.
La cena con Thomas, Javier y Manfred y la cantidad de carne
que precedi el primer filete del viaje!
Me va a matar (Iaki previendo la reaccin de su mujer al descu-
brir que dos de sus relojes habian sido robados durante el viaje)
La delegacin espaola llegando sin Elena (Balmaseda de
Ahumada)
Me va a matar (JLBA abandonando la reunin del Comit Eje-
cutivo para recoger a Elena con 30 minutos de retraso sobre el
horario previsto)
La maravillosa cena-bufet en el apartamento de Alfredo y Marga.
El hombre del cambio de dinero Sr Davidoff
La afabilidad y simpata de todas las personas que conocimos
Tango, hacen falta por lo menos dos das para aprender a bailar
el tango!(Andras despus del primer espectculo de tango)
`Me siento bajita, gorda y vieja! (una seorita jovencita,
delagada y guapsima despus de la Tanguera)

Annual Congress
Arriving bleary-eyed at the airport after a 13 hour flight and the
adrenalin surge provided by the drive from the airport to the
hotel in the Buenos Aires rush-hour.
Dinner with Thomas, Xavier and Manfred and the amount of
meat that preceded the first steak of the trip!
Shell kill me (Iaki anticipating his wifes reaction to the news
that he had two of his watches stolen in transit)
The spanish party arriving without Elena (Balmaseda)
Shell kill me (JLBA leaving the Executive Meeting to meet Elena
at the airport 30 minutes later than intended!)
