Richard Stoltzman's virtuosity, musicianship and sheer personal magnetism have made him one of today's Richard Stoltzman's virtuosity, musicianship and sheer personal magnetism have made him one of today's Rmost sought-after concert artists. As soloist with over a hundred orchestras, a captivating recitalist, an innovative jazz artist, and a prolific recording artist, this two-time Grammy® Award winner has defied categorization, dazzling critics and audiences alike throughout many musical genres. Stoltzman's unique way with the clarinet has earned him an international reputation as he has opened up possibilities for the instrument that no one could have predicted. He gave the first clarinet recitals at both the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall, and became the first wind player to receive the Avery Fisher Prize. He has performed or recorded with such jazz and pop greats as Gary Burton, Chick Corea, Judy Collins, Eddie Gomez, Woody Herman, Keith Jarrett, Mel Tormé, and Spyro Gyra founder Jeremy Wall. Richard Stoltzman's discography numbers well over sixty recordings and he has won Grammy Awards for his recordings of the Brahms Sonatas with Richard Goode and Trios of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms with Yo-Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax.

Internationally recognized as one of the world’s finest quartets, the American String Quartet was formed in 1974 when its original members were students at the Juilliard School. The Quartet was launched by winning both the Coleman Competition and the Naumburg Award in the same year. In over three decades of touring, The American String Quartet has performed in all 50 states and appeared in virtually every important concert hall throughout the world.

Soprano Jeanette Thompson won the Gold Medal at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and Soprano Jeanette Thompson won the Gold Medal at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and Scontinues to receive praise by critics. She has been soprano soloist in the Verdi "Requiem" (which she performed in Carnegie Hall), Brahms' "German Requiem", Rossini's "Stabat Mater" and Poulenc's "Gloria". After making her

debut with the Toledo Symphony in Britten's "War Requiem" in April 1995, she has appeared with the Long Island Philharmonic, the Aspen Opera Orchestra, St. Luke's Chamber Orchestra and the Rjecka National

Opera Orchestra, as well as solo recitals around the United States and in Cameroon, Kenya and Zaire.

Nikolai Kuznetsov, violin and Viktor Portnoy, pianoNikolai Kuznetsov earned his master's degree in violin in 1975 at the conservatory in St. Petersburg, studying under Prof. O.F. Nikolai Kuznetsov earned his master's degree in violin in 1975 at the conservatory in St. Petersburg, studying under Prof. O.F. NShulpjakov. He received his doctorate from the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow in 1979 under the supervision of Prof. M.I. Fikhtengolets, national artist of the Russian Federation. Kuznetsov has taught at Petrozavodsk State University since 1980, and has been the dean of the Department of Performing Arts for 20 years.

Viktor Portnoy is a Distinguished Artist of Russia and Karelia, professor, head of the Piano Department and prorector at Glazunov Petrozavodsk State Conservatory. He earned his doctorate at St. Petersburg Conservatory, having studied under Professors N.N. Poznjakovskaya and T.P. Kravchenko, national artist of Russia. He has worked in the Far East Institute of Arts and at the Petrozavodsk State Conservatory since 1971. He supervises the International Governor's Competition in Vologda, the International Young Pianist Open Competition in Kostomuksha and many republic and regional competitions and festivals.

featured Jazz performanceMatt Wilson with Arts & CraftsFlexible, subtle drummer Matt Wilson gained a strong reputation with his 1996 debut recording as a leader that prominently features tenor saxophonist Dewey Redman. Wilson started playing drums in grade school, he studied at Wichita State University and spent time in the Midwest, both as a freelancer and as a teacher. In 1987 he moved to Boston, playing with Either/Orchestra and Charlie Kohlhase Quintet. In 1992, Matt Wilson relocated to New York where he has since played with Redman, Cecil McBee, Lee Konitz, Fred Hersch, Tim Hagans, Ingrid Jensen, among others.

Guest from the regional conservatory of Boulogne–Billancourt, france Nicolas Mallarte, pianoNicolas Mallarte is the winner of several international competitions, including the Chamber Music, Harmony and Counterpoint Awards from the CNSMD Paris. He has also been honored at the Pinerollo, the London Parkhouse Awards, and the Viotti; has played with many renowned French performers and as a soloist with l’Orchestre des Pays de Savoie and l’Orchestre Ostinato; has done improvisations for various films and documentaries; and participated in jazz festivals like the Loches en Jazz. A multi-talented musician, Mallarte is a professor of piano at The Regional Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt, France.
