Спасибо за замечание, Вера. Обрати внимание, я поправила 117 -- может, теперь по-другому его воспримешь... :) Прежний перевод был совсем уж буквальынй, неинтересно. Сейчас гораздо лучше.

Одним махом: в 1й части - 6, 8, 16, 26, 33, с моим фаворитом 21 (такой триллер - мама не горюй!) 2 часть - 54 (без Бажова не обошлось, но кто, кроме советского читателя, с этим согласится? :-)), 57, 60, 62 (это мне напомнило давнюю карикатуру, со смыслом наоборот: две девушки в метро - у одной длинные гладкие волосы, у другой пышные короткие кучеряшки. Каждая думает: "Мне бы такие волосы!"), 64, 68, 81. 3 часть - 96, 104, 111, 115, 123 и 133. Конечно, явно что-то недооценила по недомыслию, что-то прошло мимо. Но эти - зацепили сразу.

Ира, конечно всегда спрашивай без всякого разрешения, если хочешь точно выяснить :) можно написать paleolith painting или это вовсе неправильно? rock painting, или rock art, или аncient или prehistoric drawing, painting -- это и есть в переводе наскальная живопись, которая с доисторическим временем ассоциируется. Выбирай, что тебе больше нравится :) Не видела никогда сочетание paleolithic painting -- палеолит называют обычно stone age (каменный век), и можно ещё сказать про наскальную живопись old stone age rock painting (вот так длинно) ... Тебе это надо? :) Насчёт дарвиновской теории не знаю, я и на русском бы не подумала именно про Дарвина, если бы ты не сказала :) Ясно видно то, что ящерица может быть нарисована или быть живая, в этом смысл первой строчки -- предоставить возможность разных прочтений... Можно сказать и так. как ты написала -- an admiring gaze of the old orangutan at the lizard Вот так длинно -- 12 слогов во второй строке (когда в хайку на английском всего-то должно быть примерно 12 слогов!). К тому же, это не передаёт выражение "не налюбуется" -- а я старалась именно так сказать, соответствующей идиомой на английском. Можем и заменить, как ты сделала, если хочешь. Это не ошибка, но ... :)

Может быть на английском можно написать paleolith painting или это вовсе неправильно? Есть ли в английском для рисунков палеолита специальный термин? Извини, что я так дотошна... Мне хотелось вызвать хайку ассоциации с дарвиновской

Thank you so much for the detailed analyses, Stefan! I agree with what you said. In Merrill's haiku, there are two phrases, the first one's being a question. In Francesca's haiku, I see the orangutan singing to the lizard :) It doesn't matter that they are not named by the author, because actually, there may be any two creatures (or, persons, for that matter) in this ku -- the intention is the sharing of sympathy between two souls... That's how I see this poem -- but you are right that the images are supposed to be actually used (the creatures named) in order for the haiku to be standing strong on its own without the picture's crutches, so to speak :)

Most tried to 'show' what was going on in the painting and most used narrative, as did mine. Not sure how effective this was after reading so many at once. It remained intriguing to consider those verses having nothing to do with the creatures in the painting: autumn dew through the forest we are stung by pine conifers early spring in the green field we pick wild strawberries These bring something refreshing to the photo which is already overwhelmed by these creatures. The verses serve to create a balance...somewhat like in haibun where one often, in the verse, treads away from the subject of the written composition. Ken

Здесь особенно хотелось бы отметить: 92, 96, 103, 106 (можно еще перевести "от одного поцелуя... из дракона в леди":)), 112, 116 (прекрасная игра слов и звуков, связи и единство между цветом, сезоном, живыми существами), 119 (просто чудесно! такой нежный стих).

Вариантики переводов: 107 зонтиком над лесной землей орангутанг вверх ногами 111 гримаса скалы - ящерица соскальзывает в поцелуй орангутанга (мне кажется, здесь обыгрывается визуальное сходство скалы с мордой) 114

What great talent here! It was difficult to select because all the poems are of a very high standard and I can well imagine Origa's challenge in picking her final selections! Those I particularly like are the following: 51, 56, 60, 64, 67, 81. Keith

Hi Origa, its a fun contest. And your art work is very beautiful. I enjoyed reading all the comments and reading all the poems. It is of course hard to select out of all of these, but here are a few I enjoyed #50, 116 and 127. Glad I don't have to be the one to make the selection.
