Meanwhile, its versatility and simplicity –usable on, over and off the toilet, no tools required – is designed to improve the health of every user and the life of every carer.

Always Thoughtful Outstandingfeatures and benefits

On. Over. Off.No matter what the toileting situation, the type of toilet or the users need, the HTS can meet it with its unmatched versatility. It is usable:

ON the toilet. Placing the HTS on any model of toilet, standard or elongated, enables the user to make use of the same toilet as the rest of the family. Mounting bars make for easy, secure attachment of the chair to the toilet base. Removal is just as easy, no tools required.

OVER the toilet. Use the mobile economy base to wheel the HTS over toilets of nearly any size and style, enabling the user to use the same toilet as the rest of the family. Or use the lower stationary base (on toilets up to

mobile version also doubles as a shower chair.

OFF the toilet. The mobile base and commode pan allow for use of the HTS anywhere – not just in the bathroom.

As a shower chair. By doubling as a mobile shower chair, the HTS eliminates the need to purchase separate equipment for each activity. The optional tilt-in-space model tilts up to 25˚ supine; the backrest tilts up to 18˚ recline; and the headrest is adjustable, all providing the ideal showering position for users of every size, shape and ability.

Adjust the height. One frame accommodates both small and medium seats to allow for user’s growth. Separate frame for large seat.

Adjust the width. The chair’s width can be adjusted by adding one or both hip positioners to the armrests. Each armrest can be placed in two positions in the hip positioner allowing further adjustment and room for growth.

Adjust the backrest. The backrest can be adjusted 6˚ forward (for proper toileting position), 6˚ recline and 18˚recline (to assist with showering and hair washing).

Easier Lifts and Transfers Lifts and transfers present a major challenge to successful toileting. The HTS makes them easier with a variety of features. The durable footboard, for instance, enables step-pivot transfers from the front, while the footboard’sip-up capacity - and the gas-spring forward-tilting seat (up to 5˚ forward) – support an easy transition from sit-to-stand. Lateral transfers are simpler as well, thanks to the removable armrests.

Long Lasting and Durable Like all Rifton products, the HTS is designed for many years of service, far beyond the average toilet system. This durability comes from the sturdy stainless steel hardware that makes up the frame, which is welded and powder-coated for added strength. Durability is built into the design of every component – from the castors at the bottom to the adjustable headrest at the top.

Supportive and Comfortable Comfort and support, according to research, are essential for good toileting in users with special needs. For this reason, Rifton have paid close attention to designing components that give users a sense of safety, security and support. These components include natural contours moulded into the seat and back for added comfort, cushioned integral skin foam padding for the seat and back, gas-assisted tilt-in-space (5˚ forward for easier transfer, as well as 25˚ recline for showering and hair washing), the adjustable backrest (6˚ forward for proper toileting position, 6˚ recline and 18˚ recline to assist with showering and hair washing)… and soft material for straps and any other accessory that touches the skin.

Hygienic and Easy to Clean The HTS facilitates cleanliness and health for the individuals who use it. For instance, the unique design of the seat pad opening (open to the rear for larger users) facilitates clear access for cleaning and hygiene after toileting. Waterproof construction and easy disassembly make every element of the HTS easy to wash and disinfect. The material for the seat and back pads (integral skin foam) is inherently antimicrobial, promoting hygiene. No special cleansers required, every part of the Rifton HTS is washable with a simple 10% bleach solution.

Deflectors

Ankle straps secure the feet of those with limited muscle control and excursion movement, enabling a moderate range of movement while improving independence in postural control.

Ankle Straps

The footboard supports the user’s feet at the optimal height and angle. The footboard offers four angle settings and adjusts to ve heights. It also ips up out of the way for sit-to-stand transfers.
