Heating the Screen Assembly

We suggest removing the power button from the frame at this point using a spudger or pry tool

Now, using a heat gun or hair dryer we can now heat the front of the screen assembly. Focus the heat on the outside edges for about 40 seconds on medium heat. We also suggest heating the front for a short time

Removing the Screen Assembly

Be sure the assembly is fully heated and begin lifting the LCD from the metal frame. We suggest working the pointy end of the spudger into the slot on the bottom right of the back frame and pushing the LCD & touch screen away from the frame. Once it is lifted you can then use a pry tool to release the adhesive on the back of the LCD screen.

Separating the LCD from Touch Screen

With the screen assembly removed you can now use a pry tool to separate the touch screen and LCD screen. Gently glide it along the edges releasing the adhesive. You may want to lightly heat the assembly if the adhesive is holding strong.

Prepping the Touch Screen Digitizer

If replacing the touch screen, swap over the soft button distributers located on the keypad. This is held in place with adhesive, simply peel it up and place it over your new touch screen.

You will also need to apply new adhesive to the touch screen digitizer. Use the diagram above to place new adhesive on your touch screen, being sure nothing overlaps or is in the viewing window.
