It’s the cost to use.” chaeffer’s HTC Oils are formulated utilizing 100% pure paraffin base stocks or a combination of 100% pure paraffin base stocks and PAO based synthetics. These base stocks will withstand a higher heat range (up to 150° to 250°F more than conventional oils) and provide the HTC Oils with excellent resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation.

Incorporated into these superior quality base stocks is the innovative, carefully balanced premium anti-wear additive package VarniShield®. VarniShield® is a patented hydraulic fluid additive technology that is designed to prevent the formation and the build-up of varnish deposits, while providing exceptional anti-wear performance, outstanding thermal and oxidation stability, rust and corrosion protection and rapid water separation.

Additionally, we incorporate the liquid soluble friction modifier Micron Moly® into the products. Micron Moly® acts as “backstop” lubricant to further protect the metal surfaces against wear during periods of high shock loading that squeezes the oil film out from between the mating metal surfaces.

Micron Moly® is a soluble friction modifier that prevents metal-to-metal contact when the oil film is squeezed out under load.

100% pure paraffin base molecules are egg shaped which means they slide over each other more easily and reduce power consumption.

oday’s hydraulic systems employ higher speeds, higher pressures (as high as 6,500 psi), reduced cycling times and smaller sump sizes. Higher pressures and lower oil volume (due to the smaller sump sizes) means higher operating temperatures. All this results in the oil being required to do more work in a more intense environment. These factors coupled with frequent demand from the production department to push the equipment beyond its rated loads can result in the potential for increased wear. Longer Oil Life

t is a chemical fact that for every 18˚F drop in temperature, the oil life doubles. The same goes for the life of seals and hoses. The base stocks used in Schaeffer lubricants withstand higher temperatures (up 150˚F to 250˚F more) than conventional oils. This translates into reduced oxidation, longer lubricant life and extended drains. These results can be documented using our oil analysis program.

Oxidation Stability Test

Heat causes oil to oxidize. As it oxidizes, it increases in viscosity as lighter molecules evaporate off. It also loses its ability to lubricate.

Oil life is determined by oxidation stability. The greater the oxidation stability of an oil, the longer it can be used in service. Greater oxidation stability is especially important if the oil is being recycled and reused. Filtering can remove contaminates like water, dirt and wear metals, but oxidation is a chemical change in the oil molecule itself and it cannot be removed by filtering.

Schaeffer lasted 2-3 times longer. This translates into longer fluid life.

The Oxidation Stability Test (ASTM D–943) is a good measure of an oil’s ability to hold up under heat. In this test, the major oil was a well known national brand hydraulic oil.

n a custom precision molding plant in the upper Midwest, Schaeffer’s HTC Oil reduced hydraulic leakage 75%* over the course of a year. Because the oil ran cooler, and due to Schaeffer’s seal rejuvenating technology, it dramatically reduced heat related viscosity loss and leakage due to cracked seals and hoses.

Many of today’s circulating and hydraulic oils are not compatible with each other. Mixing some hydraulic oils can result in an additive clash leading to additive drop out and poor lubricant performance.

Schaeffer’s premium grade additive system is compatible with other fluids. This means

it is not necessary to drain the system to begin using HTC Oil. It also means inadvertent mixing by

maintenance personnel will not cause problems.

Industry tests measure minimum performance levels but do not distinguish between minimum performance and superior performance. In a side-by-side comparison, Schaeffer's HTC Oil was compared with a well known major brand compressor oil:
