RNLI FISHING SAFETYHYDROSTATIC RELEASE UNIT (HRU)INSTALLATION
1. If vessel sinks, HydrostaticRelease Unit activates, andliferaft attempts to float to surface
Senhouse slipIt is recommendedthat lashingarrangements arechecked to ensure themanual quick releasearrangement can beeasily released.
3. Tension on weak link will cause it to break ensuringliferaft does not go down with the boat
2. Tension on painter will causeliferaft to inflate

Correct installation of older version HRU
Ensure strapping is tight otherwisechisel in HRU maynot cut rope.

2. Liferaft will be released but will not inflate andwill sink

2. Liferaft will float free and eventually inflate
3. Because the painter is secured directly to thestrong point, the liferaft will NOT be released tothe surface EVEN IF it is attached to the weaklink as well

INCORRECT INSTALLATIONOF HRU

3. Because the painter is secured to the slip, theliferaft will NOT be released to the surface

2. If liferaft is thrown overboard in an emergency (or comes adrift at sea) it may be lost
