    INTRODUCTIONThis case analysis tends to analyze the factors involving

    the issues concerned with the Auto Electric shopdepartment of the Garage. There are various issuesconcerned with the problems involved in thisdepartment. Hence being the Garage Manager, it is ourduty to look into the facts and come out with thesolution. Hence, let us look into the various querieswe tend to see in this case:-

    WHAT IS THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH

    THE CASE?

    The cause for all the problems in this case is not just one, but it is dual-edged. First and foremost, the higher authority of the Management didnot understand the pulse of its workers which went wrong on makingmany mistakes one after another. Notwithstanding the efficiency andsincerity of Bhushan, the Management should have given himmonetary benefits instead of elevating him to the post equivalent toLalit. Even if Bhushan was promoted, Lalit should have beentransferred immediately on the same day and should have avoidedembarrassment to the latter by keeping him at par with the former.Fine Lalit was transferred later and Bhushan was given the wholeresponsibility of managing the affairs of Auto Electric shop. After

    having given him the stewardship of managing the Auto Electric shop,the Management played the blunder of bringing Anil, another newcomer and placing Bhushan under him who was managing the show

    very well. Bhushan, naturally, was not happy with this decision of theManagement.

    WHAT IS THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH

    THE CASE?

    The Management did not do justice even to Anil byoffering him lower pay than that of Bhushan, his sub-ordinate. No superior would ever accept the fact thathis sub-ordinate earns more than him. TheManagement also cheated Anil by assigning him P-4scale instead of P-5 scale which he was eligible for. Themain reason for all the other reasons of the unit werethe wrong judgments and decisions made by thehigher authority of the Management.

    BHUSHANS BEHAVIOUR AND

    CAUSES OF DISSATISFACTION

    We can make out from the facts produced in the casethat, having joined the Company at a very early ageand having put his sweat and blood for the Companys

    growth, it is but natural for Bhushan to expectrewards, both monetarily as well as in stature andposition in the Company. Although rewarded withboth, soon he was suppressed in a humiliating manner

    causing him great dissatisfaction. There was no needfor the Management to first elevate him and thencause him mental pain. This created a state in hismind which pursued him to take steps of causingdisturbance to productivity.

    RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANIL AND

    BHUSHAN

    The relationship between Anil and Bhushan was nevercordial because of the higher authoritys indifference.Making Bhushan a sub-ordinate of Anil and thengiving him more pay than Anil was a bad decision,which was the root cause of the sore relationshipbetween them. As nobody witnessed as to whathappened, it is difficult to judge if Anil reallymanhandled Bhushan.

    BHUSHANS GRIEVANCE, HIS COMPETENCE

    AND COMPANYS PROMOTION POLICY

    As said earlier, Bhushan dedicated himself for the betterment ofthe company. He was a hard working person and a quick learner.

    Whatever he did, he did with devotion. His grievance wasgenuine because he was made a sub-ordinate to another evenafter proving himself. First of all, he was made the in-charge ofthe department and then, he was made a sub-ordinate.Something that would hurt any dedicated person. TheCompanys promotion policy also is seen as a mess andmismanaging in its functions. First, they make Lalit andBhushan work together although there is a wide contrast in their

    efficiency and then, they make a hard working person as a sub-ordinate and later, they make a skillfully qualified person workwith a lesser salary than the sub-ordinate. This policy is certainlyseen as a poor method of promotion.

    SOLUTION AS A GARAGE

    MANAGERTo bring back the same cordial atmosphere in the unit, it

    is suggested to revert back Anil to his original place ofworking i.e. to the valley garage and encourage him bygiving the original post which was offered to him andentrust Bhushan to manage the Auto Electric shop bygiving him a mild warning to prevent him doing thesame mistakes made earlier.
