• I’ve been a competitive athlete my entire life

• Little did I realize, sports and human resources are strikingly similar

• To do this, a coach and the captain(s) must utilize all of the team’s players to the best of their abilities

• Translated to HR lingo: an HR manager must figure out how to get the most out of his employees in order to best suit the needs and strategies of the company

• Having been an athlete my whole life, I realized that I could use my experience in sports to leverage a career in human resources

• I had the privilege of being the Student Coordinator for the ASB program my junior and senior year of undergrad at MSU

• This role was also very HR-oriented as it involved recruiting, leading, effectively communicating, and delegating people to skill-specific tasks...

• My experiences with sports and alternative spring break have resulted in me gaining a passion for HR

• Upon completing my Masters of HR and Labor Relations at MSU, combined with my summer internship with Frito Lay, I am confident that I will be prepared to take on an exciting career in the field of Human Resources
