NEWS FROM THE CHAIRMAN MICHAEL
KADENACY: This past quarter has been
marked by significant successes by the
Washoe County Republican Party.
Despite a severe winter storm, our Pre-
cinct Caucuses went without a hitch.
Our Convention not only proceeded smoothly but we also
adopted a major revision of the bylaws and a simplified Party
Platform. While there was debate, the bylaw amendments
as recommended by the Executive Committee and the
Platform were passed by overwhelming votes of the Dele-
gates.
Our Intern Program has been significantly upgraded with our
paid participants now recruiting further volunteers them-
selves. The Program is now exceeding its averages in con-
tacts vs. doors knocked, and the number of high performers
is increasing. The Field Organization is ramping up the voter
registration as well.
Some of the newly elected Executive Committee At-Large
members have attended their first Executive Committee
meeting and are looking forward to fulfilling their role as
party leaders. Their participation is most appreciated.
We all need to remember our collective goal, Making
Washoe County RED Again. To do this, all of us need to get
active in a committee, volunteer to make calls or walk, and
support our Party financially.
Are YOU doing YOUR part to elect Republicans?

Report From Our Field Operation Chair
(formerly called the Precinct Organization):
With new Bylaws passed at the April 7 County
Convention, the Precinct Organization was
melded into the Field Operation and now in-
cludes Voter Registration and broadly encompasses the Intern
Program within the Washoe County Republican Party.
We are continuing to have difficulty locating Voter Registration
sites. Several of the businesses that formerly allowed us to put
a table in front of their stores, have reversed that policy. No
more Raley’s, Cabela’s, or Target. We can still do Scheel’s one
or two days a month. We can still do Sportsman’s Warehouse
on occasion. But both those places usually have shoppers who
are engaged and already registered. The DMV is taken up by
another campaign every day, so we don’t want to duplicate
that effort. If you know any small businesses that would allows
us to put up a card table, a couple of chairs and a sign to regis-
ter voters, kindly let me know. We have volunteers; we just
need locations.
The Intern Program is also undergoing some changes, with
some new leadership and a broadening of the duties of the
interns. The interns can get college credit for participating.
There will be an effort to not only walk precincts, but to also
work in the office, oversee the new Call Center in the Annex,
and to work on campaigns. We will be getting trained and
ramped up very soon.
The effort in the precincts is to now “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV).
Early Voting begins on May 26 and before we know it, the June
12 Primary will be upon us. I urge all concerned citizens to get
their friends and neighbors awake, aware, and alert. We need
to GOTV. We need an active citizenry to have a good turn-out.
The stronger the turn-out, the more we can affect change and
get the good guys elected.
Thanks in advance to everyone. Let’s GOTV!
