Service overview
HPAccidentalDamageProtectionprovidesprotectionagainstaccidentaldamagetoyourHPproductthatoccursduringthecontractedperiod.Accidentaldamagereferstoaccidentalphysicalbreakageorfailureofyourcoveredequipmentduetoanunforeseenandunintentionaleventthatcausesphysicaldamagetothecoveredequipmentandwhichaffectsitsfunctionality,suchasifyouaccidentallyspillliquidonyourkeyboardoraccidentallydropyourHPnotebook.AccidentalDamageProtectioncanhelpyouavoidout-of-pocketrepairorreplacementcostscausedbytheseunexpectedevents.
ShouldyourHPproductbesubjecttoaneventthatiscoveredunderAccidentalDamageProtection,yourcoveredequipmentwilleitherberepairedorreplacedwithanHPproductofatleastequivalentfunctionalityatnoextracharge,subjecttotheterms,conditions,andexclusionsdescribedinfullintheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicydocument.*

Accidental damage protection
AccidentalDamageProtectionprovidesprotection(i.e.,repairorreplacement)againstaccidentaldamagetotheCustomer’scoveredHPproductthatoccursduringthecoveredperiod.
AccidentaldamagereferstotheaccidentalphysicalbreakageorfailureofyourHPcoveredequipmentduetoanunforeseenandunintentionaleventthatcausesphysicaldamagetotheHPcoveredequipmentandwhichaffectsitsfunctionality.
AccidentalDamageProtectiondoesnotcovereventsincluding,butnotlimitedto,theft,loss,damagecausedbyfire,avehicleaccidentoractofnature,normalwear,consumables,orabuseandmisuse.PleaseseetheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicyforfulldetailsofexclusionstothepolicycoverage.*
Remote problem diagnosis and support
Whenmakinganaccidentaldamageclaim,theCustomermustfirstreporttheclaimassoonaspossiblebyeithercallingHPat(0845)1610050orbyusingtheHPWebportal(https://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public).Providedthatthedamagewascausedbyaccident,HPwillprovidetheCustomerwithbasictechnicalassistance.TheCustomermaybeaskedtoprovidenecessaryinformationandtocooperatebyresolvingproblemsremotely,executingself-testsordiagnosticprograms,andperformingbasicremedialactivities.
*TheHPAccidentalDamageProtectionisunderwrittenbyAIGEuropeLimited,whichisauthorizedandregulatedbytheFinancialConductAuthorityandthePrudentialRegulationAuthority(firmreferencenumber:202628).ThisinformationcanbecheckedbyvisitingtheFinancialServicesRegisteronline(fsa.gov.uk/register).AIGEuropeLimitedhasitsregisteredofficeat58FenchurchStreet,London,EC3M4AB.AIGEuropeLimitedisregisteredinEngland;thecompanynumberis1486260.AnyshipmentortechnicalassistancedetailedinthisdatasheetthatisnotmentionedinAIG’sAccidentalDamagepolicyatthelinkbelowisprovidedbyHPandisnottheresponsibilityofAIGEuropeLimited.AccidentalDamageProtectionisgovernedbythecurrentAIGAccidentalDamagepolicy,whichisavailableathp.com/uk/accidental_damage_protection.AnyHPSupportServiceAgreementautomaticallygeneratedandsenttoyoubyHPsystemswillnotapplytotheAccidentalDamageProtectionservicesdescribedherein.

Offsite support and materials
IfHPdeterminesthattheproblemcannotberesolvedremotely,HPwilldirecttheCustomertoreturnthedefectivecoveredequipmenttoanHPauthorizedrepaircenterandwillprovidetechnicalrepairsupport.
TheCustomer’scoveredequipmentwilleitherberepairedusingpartsthatareneworfunctionallyequivalenttonewinperformance;replacedwithanHPproductthatisneworfunctionallyequivalenttonewinperformance;or,inthecasewherethereisnotanHPproductthatmatchesthecoveredequipment,HPwillprovidetheCustomerwithanHPproductthatisatleastfunctionallyequivalenttotheoriginalcoveredequipmentnotexceedingtheproductvalueoftheoriginalitem,asindicatedbytheCustomer’sproofofpurchase.
Shipment to the HP authorized repair center
ShouldtheHPcoveredequipmentrequirerepairatanHPauthorizedrepaircenter,oneofthefollowingoptionswillbeproposedtotheCustomerbasedontherepaircapabilitiesavailableattheCustomer’slocation.TheoptionproposedcanalsodependontheexistingwarrantylevelincludedwiththeCustomer’scoveredequipmentorthesupportpackagepurchasedfortheproduct:
•DeliverybytheCustomer:Withthisoption,theCustomerisresponsiblefordeliveringthecoveredequipmenttotheHPdesignatedrepaircenter.TheCustomermustensurethattheproductisappropriatelypackagedforthechosenmethodofdelivery.Deliverycanbemadeinpersonorbyalocallyavailablecommercialdeliveryservice.HPwillpaythecostofdelivery.
•PickupbyHP:AnHPauthorizedcourierwillpickupthedefectiveproductattheCustomer’slocationintheUnitedKingdom,theChannelIslands,ortheIsleofMan,anddeliverittotheHPdesignatedrepaircenter.ItistheCustomer’sresponsibilitytopackageandpreparetheproductappropriatelyforcourierpickup.Servicerequestsmustbereceivedbefore12:00p.m.localtimetoactivatesame-daypickup.Allotherservicerequestswillbescheduledfornext-business-daypickup.
Replacement Service IntheeventthattheCustomer’scoveredequipmentcannotberepairedorthecostoftherepairexceedsthevalueoftheproduct,HPmaydecidetoreplaceit.ReplacedproductsbecomethepropertyofHP.
Return shipment AnHPauthorizedcourierwillreturntherepairedorreplacedproducttotheCustomer’sdesignatedlocationwithintheUnitedKingdom,theIsleofMan,ortheChannelIslands.Returnshipmentwillbebygroundtransportationandusuallytakesbetween3and7businessdays.TheCustomermayrequestaccelerateddeliveryatanadditionalcharge.
Coverage
AccidentalDamageProtectioncoverstheHPproductidentifiedbytheserialnumbershownontheCustomer’sservicescertificate,includingallaccessoriesprovidedwithHPproductsunderthesameserialnumberandallHPsuppliedinternalcomponentssuchasmemoryandCD-ROMdrives.
Notcoveredunderthisserviceareitemssuchas,butnotlimitedto:
•ExternalaccessoriesnotprovidedwiththemainHPproductundertheapplicableserialnumbersuchasmouse,keyboard,andACpowercable
•Consumableitemsincluding,butnotlimitedto,removablemedia,customer-replaceablebatteriesandtabletPCpens,maintenancekits,andothersupplies,aswellasusermaintenanceandnon-HPdevices,arenotcoveredbythisservice;HPNotebookandTabletlong-lifebatteriesarecoveredforupto3years
•Non-HPproducts
•Accessoriespurchasedinadditiontothebaseunit,suchasjackets,cradles,dockingstations,portreplicators,maintenancekits,carryingcases,andothersupplies
•Anyproductpreviouslyservicedorrepairedbyanyonewhoisnotdulyauthorized

Prerequisites
ThecoveredequipmentmustbeeithercoveredbytheHPLimitedWarrantyprovidedwithyourHPproductorawarrantyextensionservicewithacoveragedurationequaltoorlongerthantheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicy.
AccidentalDamageProtectionmustbepurchasedwithin30daysofthepurchaseoftheHPproduct.TheCustomermayberequiredtoprovideproofofpurchasebeforeanyservicesareprovidedfortheequipmentcoveredundertheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicy.
Customer responsibilities
InordertoreceivefullprotectionundertheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicy,theCustomershalltakeallreasonableprecautionstoprotectthecoveredequipmentagainstaninsuredeventandshalluseandmaintainthecoveredequipmentinaccordancewithHP’sinstructions.
Inaddition,whenmakingaclaimundertheAccidentalDamageProtectionpolicy,theCustomermustcomplywithalltherequirementssetoutintheAIGAccidentalDamagepolicy,whichtheCustomerisadvisedtoreadcarefully(pleaseseethedocumentfootnoteformoredetails).

Territorial limits
AccidentalDamageProtectioncoversinsuredeventsoccurringanywhereintheworld.However,anHPproductcanonlyberepaired,pickedup,anddeliveredbacktoyouintheUnitedKingdom,theIsleofMan,ortheChannelIslands,andanHPproductthathasbeenrepairedorreplacedcanonlybedeliveredtoacustomerintheUnitedKingdom,theIsleofMan,ortheChannelIslands.
