Or you can select Review Hint to see which details in this document differ from the information you already have in your family tree. If the Hint is from an Ancestry.com family tree, either link will take you to more details.

SEARCH FOR MORE Once you’ve exhausted the Hints from Ancestry.com, you can search for more records by clicking on the Search records link just below the top box with your ancestor’s profile.

Ancestry.com will formulate a search based on details in your tree for that person, including vital event dates, residences, and the names of family members.

Going Beyond Hints.Your tree has even more tricks. It can connect you with other researchers, provide a quick way to fill in a search form, and so many other things, too. Try some of the following:

If the Hint doesn’t look like a match or you’re not sure you have enough information yet to accept the Hint, you can chose to ignore it.

STEP 4: Look at each Hint. Click on the name of the record to be taken to a page where you can see the record and get all the details in the document.

STEP 5: Once you’ve reviewed the record, look at names, dates, and other details to help you determine if this is your family member. Then choose whether you want to save this record to your family tree.

ADD YOUR STORIESFamily history is all about stories. You can save your stories to your tree by clicking on the Add a story link. From there you can add a story by uploading a document from your computer or typing it right into your tree. You can record audio and video as well.

SHARE YOUR TREE WITH FAMILYShare your finds with family members by inviting them to your tree. Click on the Tree pages menu and select Share your tree.

Guests can view the tree but can’t make any changes. Contributors can add information to your tree, but can’t make other changes. Editors can add to and edit the content on your tree.

CONNECT WITH NEW FAMILYYou can find other Ancestry.com members search-ing for the same family lines you are and collaborate with them through the Member Connect box on your relative’s profile page.

Once you’ve connected, you can view recent tree activity and research activity through the Member Connect box on your home page.
