The game is resident evil 4 an action/horror game. All of the sounds within the video will have been
made in a studio. The voice acting within the scene which isn’t much but there still is some will have
been recorded in a studio. The only sounds you hear at the beginning of the video are the
environmental sounds like footsteps and water dripping which will have been made in a studio using
sound creating software. These sounds create quite a tense atmosphere. It also makes quite a dark
atmosphere because of the darkness of the game. The monster noises you hear will have also been
made in a studio using sound creating software. The guns shots may have been recorded gun shots.
The soundtrack which kicks in as you dodge the first attack at 1:22 will have been made in a studio
using sound design software.
Layering will have had to be done to layer the soundtrack over the sound affects at certain parts like
at 1:44. They will have also needed to make sounds louder like maybe the background noise in the
soundtrack. I also think they will have changed the pitch on parts of the soundtrack where it goes
really high. This could all have been done in a studio.
The game is an action/horror game and this part of the game sums up action and horror in one. For
me and probably most of the people that have played this game this boss fight was probably one of
the scariest in the game. At the beginning of the video there is just natural sounds like footsteps and
water dripping which creates quite a tense and dark atmosphere because of the place you are in
which is a dark sewer. Then you get a point of view from the monster and things then start getting
creepy and scary because you can hear the monster. Then everything goes quite again but still
maintains that creepy scary feel. Then you dodge the monsters first attack and then the music kicks
in and the music is scary. The music has this dark uneasy feel to it especially when it goes high and
just adds to the atmosphere. Then when the monster finally shows itself and your trap in a small
room with it with the music playing you can’t help but get scared and feel this sense of ergency. The
game and scene really did live up to the action/horror genre and creates an atmosphere so games
can’t and for that I think fans and people that played this game will have enjoyed and be pleased
with it.
