Regardless of how well they present themselves and the information, at best they are considered nice but sort of “out there,” and at worst they are asked to leave the fellowship. Most of us have encountered this type of rejection, especially when involved in a ministry- related topic. The enemy Satan would like to turn the hurt and disappointment into anger and hostility toward the Church and create a further estrangement and isolation for the prophetic individual. This problem has become a bigger ministry for me than any other aspect of the topic of UFOs/ aliens and Genesis 6.

The 60th anniversary of the Roswell event will be hosted by the city in 2007.In an attempt to end what they are calling “the turf wars” that havedeveloped between the UFO Museum Research Center Board of Directors

and other local organizers, the City of Roswell will coordinate the UFO Festivalin 2007. The Museum had taken over coordinating the annual festival threeyears ago, during which time the numbers of visitors have steadily declined.

A featured guest of next year’s event is sure to be Jesse Marcel Jr.,whose new book Roswell: It Really Happened will have been published . Col.Marcel claims the famous event was otherworldly, including the recovery of anextraterrestrial craft. Marcel’s father, Maj. Jesse Marcel Sr., was the lead militaryinvestigator into the crash of 1947. Some think whatever really happened therewill never be known. The US government says it was a simple case ofmisidentification. But as most people know, this was not the military’s first position.

On July 8, 1947, the Roswell Daily Record carried the RAAF (RoswellArmy Air Field) release as its headline, front-page story: “RAAF Captures FlyingSaucer on Ranch in Roswell Region. The intelligence office of the 509th

Bombardment group at Roswell Army Field announced at noon today that thefield has come into possession of a flying saucer.”

By evening, newspapers including the Chicago Daily News, the LosAngeles Herald Express, the Spokane Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee, and otherswere reporting the news. Then something happened, and by the following daythe RAAF had issued a retraction:“An examination by the army revealed last night that mysterious objects foundon a lonely New Mexico ranch was a harmless high-altitude weather balloon—not a grounded flying disk.”

The contrast of statements by highly trained personnel set in motionthe greatest cover-up in American history, says Col. Jesse Marcel, who is admittedlythe only civilian alive to have handled the UFO “debris” from the Roswell crashsite. I sat down recently with Col. Marcel, and he shared information with me, onand off the record. I heard things I had never heard before from ufology’s legendaryfriend. Marcel is almost seventy-years-old now and is a soft spoken, gentle manwho comes across as ultimately believable. When I asked Jess, as he prefers to becalled, if his father—the Intelligence Officer at Roswell Army Air Field at the timeof the Roswell event—could have been mistaken about what was recoveredduring the field investigation, he answered without hesitation, “No way,” andthen proceeded to tell me why.

When later I pressed aboutMogul balloons and OperationPaperclip as alternative theories, heshared at length the number of times hehad joined honest investigators in aside-by-side comparison of their“evidence” with his drawings andmaterial examples; each time there wasnot a single correspondent to what hisfather had brought home from the ranchthat night. Getting to the big questions,I offered, “But of course whateverhappened at Roswell, surely could beexplained as top-secret terrestrialtechnology, right?” As cool as silkywater, he looked at me and replied,“Tom, what I saw was not of this earth.Though it was material, I held it in myhands, and the pieces were as light as afeather.”

I gave Jess greetings fromStanton Friedman, who together withBill Moore had brought the Roswellcover-up to international light manyyears ago, and then I said, “So you,like Stan Friedman, believe the Roswelldebris were most likely a physicaltechnology?” Jess smiled and told mehow Friedman was such a close familyfriend. I am not sure he ever did getaround to answering my question abouttechnology. However, Col. Marcel, likehis father before him, is a career militaryman (he had just returned from Iraqwhere as an ear, nose, and throatspecialist he was busy patching up

soldiers). Over the years he has participated in field investigations of crashed known craft and is very familiar with manyhardware components. To this day he has never seen anything resembling the Roswell artifacts.

Marcel then proceeded to tell me an intriguing story about an incident that had happened some years ago, whenhe was scheduled to be in Washington DC. To this day he does not know how the participant knew where he would be atthat particular time. When he arrived at his motel, there was a message waiting for him on the phone in his room. It was froma man we will call Mr. “X.” He wanted to meet with Marcel the following day at 1:00 PM in a certain room at the Capitalbuilding. Marcel felt uneasy but agreed to go to the meeting. On arrival, he was ushered into the office of Mr. “X,” who gotright down to business. “X” wanted to talk to Marcel about Roswell, and he asked if Jess would be more comfortable “in asecure room.” When Marcel explained that he would not be saying anything he had not said before, “X” pressed the ideaof the alternate meeting area, explaining, “Well, maybe I want to tell you something you do not already know.”

Leaving the office, they proceeded to the secure room where no listening devices existed, in an area Jess describedas “the dungeons of the Capital building.” They sat at a table where Marcel noticed a book about alien abductions, UFOtechnology, and Roswell. “X” tapped on the book with his finger and said outright, “This is not fiction.” The mysteriousgovernment insider (later identified as Dick D’Amato, an aide to Sen. Robert Byrd) continued talking for a while and thenasked Marcel if he knew where the material recovered from the Roswell ranch was being kept. Jess found the questioncurious and said, “No. Don’t you?” “X”’s answer was as enigmatic as the question, so Marcel responded with an inquiryof his own: “If extraterrestrial activity is real, and you guys know it, when is the government planning Official Disclosure ofwhat really happened at Roswell?”

“If it was up to me,” “X” said, “we’d be doing it now.”Following a story like that, I just had to ask Col. Marcel if he personally knew of other members of the government

and military who also are anticipating a future moment when the representatives of the world’s religions and leaders ofnations will stand in the well of the United Nations and say, “We have an announcement to make. We are in contact withextraterrestrial intelligence.”

Marcel grew silent for a moment, then looked at me and whispered, “Yes.”Suddenly the phone rang, and Col. Marcel had to leave the building.This issue of OFFICIAL DISCLOSURE (formerly ANOMALOS MAGAZINE) includes a look at Christian Theology

Imaginations . . .

In the Garden of Eden, theserpent tempted Eve with the prospect ofbecoming like a god. “For God doth knowthat in the day ye eat thereof, then youreyes shall be opened, and ye shall be asgods . . .” (King James Version, Gen. 3.5).Eve fell, and into darkness descended thefuture of the human race. Paradise hadbeen traded for deception. Later Godwould observe “. . . that the wickednessof man was great in the earth, and thatevery imagination of the thoughts of hisheart was only evil continually” (Gen. 6.5).

From the moment the serpenttempted Eve, the imagination ofmankind has worked toward godhood.However, because of man’s inherentsinful nature, this striving is in vain.Created in the image of God, we weredesigned to serve and reflect God.Paradise resulted from the creationworking in perfect harmony with itsCreator. Function and form werebrought forth from the mind of God butin accommodation of the freewill ofAdam and Eve.

Satan, the serpent of old,envious of God and His creation, torethrough this harmonious relationshipbetween God and man. Wishing toelevate himself above God, he steppedbefore Eve with the aim of hijacking herworship. But what could Satan offer?Satan excited in Eve a similar desire bywhich he fell: the desire for self-promotion (Ezek. 28).

Generations after the fall inEden, the desire to obtain godhoodbecame physically manifested in a

sacred buildingproject. Mankindbegan to build anastrological towercalled Babel, whichmeans the gate ofGod (Missler 33;Harris, et al. 89).This sacred buildingproject wasmankind’s attempt toascend to theheavens bothphysically andspiritually and becomelike gods.

“And the LORD came downto see the city and the tower,which the children of menbuilded. And the LORD said,Behold, the people is one, andthey have all one language; andthis they begin to do: and nownothing will be restrained fromthem, which they have imaginedto do. Go to, let us go down, andthere confound their language,that they may not understand oneanother’s speech. So the LORDscattered them abroad fromthence upon the face of all theearth . . . “(Gen.11:5-8).

God said, “And nownothing will be restrained fromthem, which they have imaginedto do,” but even in the midst ofour technological progress, wecannot escape entropy and death.We were designed to worship and

serve God, and we must do so, orsuffer mechanical breakdownthrough unintended employment.Our very fabric of existence is tornapart, sometimes slowly andsometimes quickly, without God,who holds all things together(Heb. 1:3). Death is the end thatfinds the prodigal who does notreturn.

The kingdom of Satan is onein which mankind follows Satan’sexample, and in defiance of God(consciously or unconsciously) strivesto become a god himself. This kingdomis an empire of denial—the denial thatthe entropy and death that we strive toovercome is but a natural result of the

abandonment of our designed placeand function.

Satan’s goal is to take theCreator’s place, regardless of the pricethe creation pays in the process. We arehis trophies: the defiant prize hedangles before the Creator. Satan’skingdom is a kingdom with the singlepurpose of uniting us against God.This unification was first attemptedunder Nimrod at Babel. This first effortfailed due to God’s intervention. Oneday, however, Satan will largelysucceed, though only for a briefmoment, on a plain called Megiddo(Rev. 16:13-16). The foundation ofSatan’s future kingdom is being laidbefore our eyes. We must look to thepast, to understand the present.

Nimrod—The Rebel

The name Nimrod implies“rebel” or “to rebel” (Missler 33; Unger53). We learn in Genesis that Nimrodfounded the first great empire: “AndCush begat Nimrod: he began to be amighty one in the earth. He was amighty hunter before the LORD:wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod themighty hunter before the LORD. Andthe beginning of his kingdom wasBabel, and Erech, and Accad, andCalneh, in the land of Shinar” (Gen.10:8-10).

We then learn that the peopleunited on the plain of Shinar and builtthe Tower of Babel; the gate of God(Harris, et al. 89).

“And the whole earth was of onelanguage, and of one speech. Andit came to pass, as they journeyedfrom the east, that they found aplain in the land of Shinar; andthey dwelt there. And they saidone to another, Go to, let us makebrick, and burn them thoroughly.And they had brick for stone, andslime had they for morter. Andthey said, Go to, let us build us acity and a tower whose top mayreach unto heaven; and let usmake us a name, lest we bescattered abroad upon the face ofthe whole earth” (Gen. 11:1-4).

This was not simply a buildingbut rather an attempt to ascend to theheavens—in the same vein that Luciferasserts, “I will ascend above theheights of the clouds; I will be like themost High” (Isa.14.14). The tower wasman’s rebellious attempt to ascend tothe place of godhood. Author DaveHunt explains:

“Satan’s promise to Eve thatshe could become one of thegods became the foundationof pagan religion worldwide. [.. .] Thus was born the religionof self-effort. [. . .] The risingTower of Babel seemed togive credence to thegrandiose delusion that mancould reach heaven by hisown efforts. Nimrod was verylikely the first emperor to bedeified, and thus was aforerunner of Antichrist” (57).

Thus, Nimrod was thefigurehead of Satan’s first attempt atcreating a unified kingdom that defiedGod. A key deception underlying thiskingdom was the original lie: that onecould become like God. This lie, whichSatan first told to Eve in the Garden, isthe foundation of all paganism—afoundation that will be harnessed byanother rebel, the coming Antichrist.Arthur Walkington Pink (1886-1952),the famous theologian and writer,noted:

“In Nimrod and his schemes wesee Satan’s initial attempt to raiseup a universal ruler of men. [. . .]we cannot fail to see that there ishere, beneath the historicalnarrative, something deeper thanthat which appears on thesurface; yea, that there is here acomplete typical picture of theperson, work and destruction ofthe Antichrist.”

Destruction of the Tower and theDivision of the Nations

God destroyed the Tower, andconfused the peoples’ language. As aresult, the word “Babel” came to mean

“confused language” (Harris, et al 89).God also divided the people andcreated the nations. More detail of thisdivision can be found in Deuteronomy32, also known as The Song of Moses.

“Remember the days of old;consider the years of manygenerations; ask your father, andhe will show you, your elders, andthey will tell you. When the MostHigh gave to the nations theirinheritance, when he dividedmankind, he fixed the borders ofthe peoples according to thenumber of the sons of God. Butthe LORD’s portion is his people,Jacob his allotted heritage”(English Standard Version, Deut.32.7-9).

It is important to note that thephrase “the sons of God” in the abovepassage is read in most English Biblesas “the sons of Israel.” However, theDead Sea Scrolls, as well as the GreekSeptuagint, confirm that the earliestversions read “the sons of God.”Further evidence that it should read“the sons of God” and not “the sons ofIsrael” is that Israel was not in existencewhen God divided mankind and fixedthe borders at Babel. Therefore, thesons of Israel did not yet exist.

This understanding isimportant because the “sons of God”are identified throughout the OldTestament as divine beings or heavenlyhosts. It is important to note that theterm “sons of God” is used both offallen heavenly beings (Psalm 82.1-8)and unfallen heavenly beings (Job38.7). As a further resource on this topicI highly recommend Dr. MichaelHeiser’s websitewww.michaelsheiser.com. However,with the fact in mind that Deuteronomy32 references heavenly beings: “. . . hefixed the borders of the peoplesaccording to the number of the sons ofGod” (emphasis added) (Deut. 32.8), it isapparent that part of God’s judgment atBabel was to allow a stubborn peopleto inherit nations under the power ofangelic beings, instead of God. Godwould choose his own nation later.

It can also be deduced thatwhen this occurred, God divided thepeople into seventy nations, as thereare exactly seventy nations identified inthe Table of Nations in Genesis 10.With this information, it can be furtherdeduced that there must also have beenseventy “sons of God” becauseDeuteronomy says that God dividedthe nations “according to the numberof the sons of God” (Deut 32.8). Thisreasoning seems a bit stretched untilone finds that this conclusion isconfirmed by noncanonical sources,such as The Book of Jasher 9.32—which specifically states that there wereseventy angels involved: “And Godsaid to the seventy angels who stoodforemost before him, to those who werenear to him, saying, Come let usdescend and confuse their tongues,that one man shall not understand thelanguage of his neighbor, and they didso unto them” (Parry 45).

God gave dominion of theseventy nations to seventy angelswho, perhaps, constitute at least part ofthe false gods in the Old Testament. Itis surprising to some people that Goduses fallen angels to work His will attimes, but that is exactly what occurs inI Kings 22 when He chooses to allow alying spirit to entice Ahab. I suspectthat God is using fallen angels tofurther His ultimate purpose in the caseof Deuteronomy 32.8 as well. However,He was not giving up on mankindaltogether. Later, beginning in Genesis12, He would mercifully preserve apeople to protect the line leading to theMessiah. He would later create a nationof His own through which he wouldwork.

Power over the Gods

In chapter 12 of Genesis, Godpromises to make Abram into a greatnation. Have you ever wondered whythe Creator of the Universe would bethe God of one nation in history?Many antagonists to Judaism andChristianity point to this as evidencethat Judaism originated as a culturalreligion. With a proper understandingof the allotment of the nations amongst

the fallen sons of God we have aconvincing answer to this accusation.

By creating His own nation,God preserved a people for the lineleading to the Messiah. The Messiah,in turn, defeated the gods of thenations, the principalities and powers,through the cross:

“And ye are complete in him,which is the head of allprincipality and power.

[. . . ] And you, being dead inyour sins and theuncircumcision of your flesh,hath he quickened togetherwith him, having forgiven youall trespasses; Blotting out thehandwriting of ordinancesthat was against us, whichwas contrary to us, and took itout of the way, nailing it to hiscross; And having spoiledprincipalities and powers, hemade a shew of them openly,triumphing over them in it”(Col. 2.10, 13-15).

By His blood He stripped thefallen sons of God of their power, for Hedied and rose for both the Gentile andthe Jew, both the inhabitants of thepagan nations and of Israel. Throughthe power of Christ’s blood, Godreclaimed the nations. Power over thegods is given to Christ’s followers, as isevidenced in the below passage fromThe Gospel of John, where Christ sendsout seventy disciples corresponding tothe seventy nations and the seventyfallen sons of God:

“Now after this the Lordappointed seventy others,and sent them two and twoahead of Him to every city andplace where He Himself wasgoing to come. And He wassaying to them, “The harvestis plentiful, but the laborersare few; therefore beseech theLord of the harvest to sendout laborers into His harvest.Go your ways; behold, I sendyou out as lambs in the midst

of wolves.” [. . .] And theseventy returned with joy,saying, “Lord, even thedemons are subject to us inYour name.” And He said tothem, “I was watching Satanfall from heaven like lightning.Behold, I have given youauthority to tread uponserpents and scorpions, andover all the power of theenemy, and nothing shallinjure you. Nevertheless donot rejoice in this, that thespirits are subject to you, butrejoice that your names arerecorded in heaven” (NASB,Luke 10.1-3, 17-20).

Thus, through Jesus one canhave authority over the gods of thisworld, the principalities and powersover the nations. “For we wrestle notagainst flesh and blood, but againstprincipalities, against powers, againstthe rulers of the darkness of this world,against spiritual wickedness in highplaces” (KJB, Eph. 6.12). However, ourreal joy comes from the fact that ournames are recorded in heaven and thatwhat was lost in Eden will one day berestored.

Territorial Spirits

The allotment of the nationsto the seventy fallen sons of Godexplains the territorial references inscripture such as the following passagein Daniel:

“Then said he unto me, Fear not,Daniel: for from the first day thatthou didst set thine heart tounderstand, and to chastenthyself before thy God, thy wordswere heard, and I am come for thywords. But the prince of thekingdom of Persia withstood meone and twenty days: but, lo,Michael, one of the chief princes,came to help me; and I remainedthere with the kings of Persia”(Dan 10.12-13).

In this passage the Prince of Persiadelays an angel of God for twenty-onedays. Geographically, modern day Iranis in the former area of Persia. Perhapswe see the influence of the Prince ofPersia today underlying the words andactions of the modern day leaders ofIran, who declare that Israel should bewiped off the face of the earth andrepeatedly deny Israel’s right to exist.

After all, in current times thereis evidence that nations and territoriesare under the influence of fallenprincipalities and powers. On the cross,Christ triumphed over the principalitiesand powers, but they are left to worktheir evil until Christ’s triumphantSecond Coming. In the book Wrestlingwith Dark Angels, Dr. C. Peter Wagnerof Fuller Theological Seminary notes:

“Research on territorial spirits isso new that the case studies thathave surfaced tend to get toldover and over again. I have nodoubt that as time goes bycredible stories of breakingpowers over areas, both small andlarge, will multiply. JamieBuckingham, for example, told meof sensing the presence of aspecific power of evil over the cityof Prague some time ago. He alsoreports that former Secretary ofthe Interior James Watt, throughsensitivities acquired in his pastassociation with the occult,perceives specific dark angelsassigned to the White House”(80).

Wagner further elaborates:

“We have already seen that in theOld Testament the names of theprincipalities ruling over territorieswere known. We also recognizenames of Greek and Romanprincipalities such as Jupiter,Aphrodites, Diana, Poseidon,Bacchus and Venus. Our mostfrequent categorization of thesenames is ‘mythology,’ by whichwe usually mean that they musthave been figments of theimagination of pre-scientificpeople. If nothing else, the rise in

popularity of the New AgeMovement is now forcing manyof us to reexamine these points ofview” (85).

When God divided the peopleinto nations, changed their language,and gave them over to the fallen sonsof God, the false religion of Satan’skingdom was not destroyed but ratherwas dispersed and fragmented. Thisaccounts for some of the similaritiesamong different mythologies. Theconfusion of languages explains whyidentical characters in thesemythologies have different names. Inother words, the same territorialprincipalities were known by differentnames among different people groups.

Rebuilding the Tower

These same gods and beliefsare being defragmented and reunitedtoday in the revitalized paganism of theNew Age movement, once againforming an inclusive, unified religion inaccordance with the future system ofthe Antichrist (Rev. 13:15).Concurrently, mankind’s technologicalstriving for godhood is accelerating asknowledge increases (Daniel 12.4), astriving that promises humanenhancements, genetic modification,and prolonged life as well as thepopulace control necessary to form aunified society. These two trends,revitalized paganism and advancedtechnology, are merging, and as wepass through the proverbial door oftechnological “salvation,” we find theoutstretched hands of the gods,promising an existence of peace, love,and harmony. They promise a period inwhich mankind takes the next step inevolution and finds the god within.Those who follow this thinking call thismetamorphosis enlightenment. Thosewho have eyes to see and ears to hearcall it the great delusion (2 Thess. 2.11).

Besides the merging oftechnology and paganism, there are yettwo more elements emerging for theAntichrist’s future kingdom; they arepolitical and economic globalization.One example of political globalization is

the United Nations, which supportsmultiple New Age organizations andfoundations. Within the headquartersof the United Nations is TheMeditation Room. It is built in theshape of a truncated pyramid. As itsname implies, the United Nations goal isto unite the nations, just as the peoplewere unified at Babel. The UnitedNations wishes to replace the true Godwith a unified religion. Dr. RobertMuller, Secretary of ECOSOC, said thefollowing at the UN’s twentiethanniversary of The Meditation Room:

“Meditation, prayer, dream, hope,vision, guidance, foreseeing andplanning all go hand in hand in somany different ways at the U.N.For me the tall building of the U.N.is an edifice of human hope anddream jutting into the universeand receiving from that universeincreasingly clearer messages.Perhaps we have reached a timeof cosmic evolution. Little bylittle, a planetary prayer book isbeing composed by anincreasingly united humanityseeking its oneness, itshappiness, its consciousness andits full participation in thecontinuous process of creation”(Arrowsmith 285).

As Dr. Muller so blatantlydescribes, he sees the UN buildingitself in terms reminiscent of the Towerof Babel: “. . . the tall building of theUN is an edifice of human hope anddream jutting into the universe andreceiving from that universeincreasingly clearer messages.”Whether by “cosmic evolution,” as Dr.Muller states, or by more politicalmeans, the move toward a one worldreligion and government can be seeneverywhere. Anatomy of a Weltanschauungskrieg

Historically, humanity hasdivided somewhat evenly intotwo diametrically opposed

camps: those who subscribe to aspiritual, theistic Weltanschauung andthose who do not. The philosophicalmilieu of ancient Greece illustrates thisdivision. In the theistic camp, onewould find the likes of Socrates andPlato. In the atheistic camp, one wouldfind Democritus and Protagoras. Whilethe more deistic philosophiesof both Lucretius and Aristotlemight present some exceptionsto this division, one couldconvincingly argue that deismis little more than acamouflaged form of atheism.

Since the inception ofthe anti-theistic and anti-spiritual Weltanschauung,numerous permutations of thisphilosophical camp haveemerged. Materialists,behaviorists, physicalists,functionalists, secularhumanists, and Marxists arejust a few of the resultingvariants. To be sure, thecountless theoreticians ofthese different anti-theistic and anti-spiritual camps have had theiroccasional epistemological feuds. Yet,all share the same core metaphysicalconvictions: matter holds primacy andthe ontological plane of the physicaluniverse constitutes the totality ofreality itself. (In other words, sinceontology is one’s basic conception ofreality, it is the scientific materialist’sontological conviction that there isnothing beyond the physical universe.)

Of course, the anti-theistic andanti-spiritual Weltanschauungadamantly opposes most, if not all,religions. However, most contemporarymovements that have ostensiblyeschewed a spiritual outlook havesociologically behaved like religions.

Communism and fascism are two suchcases in point. How does one explainthis paradox? It is this researcher’scontention that the anti-theistic andanti-spiritual Weltanschauung wasspawned by an older religion. Thisreligion is purely occult in characterand, because it acted as the progenitorfor the anti-theistic and anti-spiritualWeltanschauung, it remains deeplyembedded within the supposedlysecular mind. Thus, even the most

stridently secular movementsare conceptually predisposedto religious thought andbehavior. Ultimately, the anti-theistic and anti-spiritualWeltanschauung is designedto relocate the Eschaton ofHeaven and Hell within theontological plane of thephysical universe.Simultaneously, it relocatesGod within man himself. Thefinal result is an ideology ofcontrol devoted to thetransformation of primamateria and a secular religiondevoted to the apotheosis ofman.

Secular Humanism: The Religion ofMan Apotheosized

To be sure, not every claim ofparanormal or supernatural experienceis genuine. More than a few have beenthe products of sensationalism andsuperstition. However, the outrightrejection of all extraordinarypossibilities is symptomatic ofepistemological rigidity, which canstultify the broadening of humanknowledge and the expansion ofmethods for scientific inquiry. Whileinstitutionally accredited science hastypically shunned the paranormal andsupernatural, segments of the scientificestablishment are beginning toacknowledge the centrality ofnonperceptible entities to the

examination of perceptible phenomena.In fact, many theoretical physicists andbiophysicists have observed thatscience and mysticism are assumingconvergent trajectories. Scientificmaterialists typically suppress suchcontentions.

Regular viewers of theNational Geographic channel haveprobably already noticed the cablestation’s overall prejudice against thebelief in a supernatural reality and atranscendent God. Members of CISCOP(Committee for the ScientificInvestigation of Claims of theParanormal) routinely appear onNational Geographic programs,offering so-called “scientificallycredible explanations” for otherwiseunexplained phenomena. What theNational Geographic channel fails tomention is the fact that CISCOPmembers are already ideologicallypredisposed to reject God and thesupernatural. Many CISCOP membersare also secular humanists. Tounderstand what secular humanistsbelieve, one needs look no further than1973’s second Humanist Manifesto fora succinct synopsis:

“As in 1933, humanists stillbelieve that traditional theism,especially faith in a prayer-hearingGod, assumed to love and care forpersonas, to hear and understandtheir prayers, and to be able to dosomething about them, is anunproved and outmoded faith.Salvationism, based on mereaffirmation, still appears asharmful, diverting people withfalse hopes of heaven hereafter.Reasonable minds look to othermeans of survival” (Humanist).

Encapsulated within this declaration isthe anthropocentric aphorism ofProtagoras: “Man is the measure of allthings . . .” Human reason dethronesGod and becomes the chief facilitatorfor man’s salvation. Salvation isredefined within a purely Darwiniancontext as survival, and the continuityof the species becomes synonymouswith immortality. If thisWeltanschauung seems religious incharacter, it is because it is actually thesecond oldest faith in existence.

Whittaker Chambers, former member ofthe communist underground inAmerica, eloquently observes,“Humanism is not new. It is, in fact,man’s second oldest faith. Its promisewas whispered in the first days ofCreation under the Tree of theknowledge of Good and Evil: ‘Ye shallbe as gods’” (qtd. in Baker 206).

Simply stated, humanism isthe religion of self-deification. Its godis Man, spelled with a capital M toconnote the purported divinity intrinsicto humanity. Atheism provides thephilosophical segue for theenthronement of man as god. Thisenthronement begins with therecognition of a significant paradoxinherent to atheism. Authors RonCarlson and Ed Decker explain:

“It is philosophically impossibleto be an atheist, since to be anatheist you must have infiniteknowledge in order to knowabsolutely that there is no God.But to have infinite knowledge,you would have to be Godyourself. It’s hard to be Godyourself and an atheist at the sametime!” (17).

Indeed, to conclude with all certaintythat there is no transcendent Godoutside the ontological plane of thephysical universe, one must first claimomniscience. However, omniscience isa trait reserved exclusively for deities.Therefore, the claimant must concludethat he or she is a god. In this sense,atheism is not the rejection of a deity,but rather, it is the belief in an emergentdeity. The god that is graduallyevolving is Man himself, and hisdevelopment is guided by his owncognitive powers.

Again, this belief is nothingnew. It was central to the religiousdoctrines of the ancient Mystery cults,which were prominent in Babylon andEgypt. Ever present was the theme ofhumanity made divine through theenthronement of man’s reason. S.Angus contends that the central themeof the Mystery religions was “that themarch of mankind is Godward” (43). Ofcourse, not every adherent of theMysteries necessarily subscribed tothis doctrine of apotheosis. Numerous

motives compelled people to accept thereligion. Angus wisely observes:

“Men entered the Mystery-cultsfor different purposes: there wereall degrees of belief and unbelief,morality and laxity, mysticism andrealism. The carnal could find inorgiastic processions andmidnight revels opportunities forself-indulgence; the superstitiouswould approach because of themagical value attributed to theformulae and sacraments; theeducated could, in the materialand physical, perceive symbols ofthe truth dear to his heart; theascetic would look upon initiationas a means of buffeting his bodyand giving freedom to the spirit;the mystic would in enthusiasmor ecstasy enjoy the beatificvision by entering intocommunion with God or byundergoing deification” (42).

Thus, only the most ardent mysticsaccepted the inner doctrine ofapotheosis. For the more carnallyinclined, such doctrine was seldomacknowledged. In fact, few were evenaware of it. The ultimate objective ofself-deification was veiled by secrecyand semiotic manipulation:

“The secrecy with which theMysteries terminated behind theveil of the temple, compared withthe publicity with which theygenerally commenced in thestreets, is explicable from the factthat the things ‘done’ or ‘said’were not the things actually to berevealed but merely symbolicmeans of conveying the intendedtruth to the minds of the votaries”(Angus 62).

A similar culture ofobscurantism exists in Freemasonry,which acts as the retainer of the ancientMystery religion. In fact, humanism andMasonry have shared a long historicalrelationship. In The Keys of This Blood,deceased Vatican insider MalachiMartin examines the emergence of “anetwork of Humanist associations”throughout early-Renaissance Italy(518-19). These organizationsrepresented “a revolt against thetraditional interpretation of the Bible as

maintained by the ecclesiastical andcivil authorities, and against thephilosophical and theologicalunderpinnings provided by the Churchfor civil and political life” (Martin 519).Although these groups espoused anostensible belief in God, their notionsof a Supreme Being were largely aderivative of the Kabbala. As Martinstates:

“Not surprisingly given such ananimus, these associations hadtheir own conception of theoriginal message of the Bible andof God’s revelation. They latchedonto what they considered to bean ultrasecret body of knowledge,a gnosis, which they based in parton cultic and occultist strainsderiving from North Africa--notably, Egypt--and, in part, onthe classical Jewish Kabbala”(519).

In Morals and Dogma, 33rd DegreeFreemason Albert Pike reveals that “allthe Masonic associations owe to it [theKabbala] their Secrets and theirSymbols” (744). Conversely, accordingto Martin the early humanists modifiedthis ancient Hebraic doctrineconsiderably.

“Whether out of historicalignorance or willfulness of both,Italian humanists bowdlerized theidea of Kabbala almost beyondrecognition. They reconstructedthe concept of gnosis, andtransferred it to a thoroughly this-worldly plane. The special gnosisthey sought was a secretknowledge of how to master theblind forces of nature for asociopolitical purpose” (519-20).

However, many of thesemiotic artifacts comprising the earlyhumanists’ iconography and jargonwere directly related to Masonry.

“Initiates of those early humanistassociations were devotees of theGreat Force—the Great Architectof the Cosmos—which theyrepresented under the form of theSacred Tetragrammaton, YHWH,the Jewish symbol for the nameof the divinity that was not to bepronounced by mortal lips. Theyborrowed other symbols—the

Pyramid and the All-Seeing Eye—mainly from Egyptian sources”(Martin 520).

The Great Architect of the Cosmos, theAll-Seeing Eye, and the Pyramid alsocomprise the esoteric semiology ofFreemasonry. What is the explanationfor all of these commonalities?According to Martin, these sharedcharacteristics were the result of amerger between the humanists and theold Mason guilds:

“In other northern climes,meanwhile, a far more importantunion took place, with thehumanists. A union that no onecould have expected. In the 1300s,during the time that the cabalist—humanist associations—werebeginning to find their bearings,there already existed—particularly in England, Scotlandand France--medieval guilds ofmen who worked with ax, chiseland mallet in freestone.Freemasons by trade, and God-fearing in their religion, these weremen who fitted perfectly into thehierarchic order of things onwhich their world rested” (521).

Evidently, there couldn’t have been twoorganizations that were morediametrically opposed than Masonryand humanism:

“No one alive in the 1300s couldhave predicted a merger of mindsbetween freemason guilds and theItalian humanists. The traditionalfaith of the one, and theideological hostility to bothtradition and faith of the other,should have made the two groupsabout as likely to mix as oil andwater” (Martin 522).

Nevertheless, the late 1500swould witness the amalgamation ofthese two groups (Martin 522). Themost evident corollary of thisorganizational coalescence was anoticeable difference in recruitingpractices of the Masons:

“As the number of working or‘operative,’ freemasonsdiminished progressively, theywere replaced by what were calledAccepted Masons—gentlemen

of leisure, aristocrats, evenmembers of royal families—wholifted ax, chisel and mallet only inthe ultrasecret symbolicceremonies of the lodge, stillguarded by the ‘Charges’ and the‘Mason Word.’ The ‘speculative’mason was born. The newMasonry shifted away from allallegiance to Roman ecclesiasticalChristianity” (Martin 522).

Indeed, the new Masonic doctrineappeared to be one that thoroughlyeschewed Christian concepts:

“There was no conceptual basisby which such a belief could bereconciled with Christianity. Forprecluded were all such ideas assin, Hell for punishment andHeaven for reward, and eternallyperpetual Sacrifice of the Mass,saints and angels, priest andpope” (Martin 522).

The new Mason was no longer anarchitect of freestone. Instead, he wasan architect of a Novus Ordo Seclorum(Latin for “New Order of the Ages”).Out of the Lodge would spring manyvarieties of sociopolitical Utopianism.Countless revolutionaries would riseup against the dominant ecclesiasticalauthority and attempt to install theirown theocratic order. To be sure, muchof the ecclesiastical establishment wascorrupt and in desperate need of reform.However, the “alternative” offered bysociopolitical Utopians was far moreauthoritarian than any of its religiouscounterparts. Moreover, their NovusOrdo Seclorum was no less religiousin character. The new secular faitheviscerated the heavens and relocatedall of religion’s traditional metaphysicalconcepts within the ontological planeof the physical universe. The ultimateeschatological vision of thisrevolutionary faith was theenthronement of the secular humanists’god: Man.

Who Ya Gonna Call?Nita Horn

Every year on October 31, skeletons, witches, rock n’roll stars, US Presidents, and a variety of innocentmasked characters run rampant through the streets

looking for sweet treats to fill their goody bags. You canhear them ringing doorbells and screaming like bansheesthe old familiar, “trick or treat!” Then after they get the treat,they give the trick anyway: smashinglifeless pumpkins while running andsinging their favorite scary tunes. Theone that stands out to me most is “WhoYa Gonna Call?”, with its unforgettable,bellowed response, “Ghostbusters!”

Long before the movieGhostbusters came out, I was alreadyacquainted with the term. My Granddadtold and retold stories of his earlier daysas a “Spook Hunter.” He was a youngman in the early 1900’s, a period whentimes were hard and money was scarce.There was a lot of superstition back then,and one job no one wanted was ghosthunting or “going up against the dead.”So he took odd jobs exploringunexplained phenomena. After all, hewas not named John Boone for nothing, after Daniel Boone,the brave and renowned frontiersman who was known tohave smiled a bear right down out of a tree.

Anyway, according to Grandpa, he was paid goodmoney back then to spend the night in creaky, old barns;abandoned houses; and dark, damp basements. Other timeshe bartered for food, supplies, and other necessities. It wasnot that he had set out in life to become a “spirit seeker,” butafter having solved a few ghostly rumblings, his reputationfor ruling out supernatural inhabitants preceded him. Beforehe knew it, he became known as a Ghostbuster. More timesthan not, there were simple, logical explanations for the so-called “hauntings,” some of them quite humorous. Once theneighborhood “bogeyman” supposedly inhabited an old,empty cabin. Every time someone would look into buyingthe house, they would hear a strange knocking under thefloor, and folks immediately gave credit to poltergeists. Soon,word had spread that the house was haunted. It turned outto be a mangy stray dog trapped underneath the floorboards.His fleas were relentless after dark, and the poor old caninescratched and thumped all through the night.

Another time Grandpa single handedly captured acouple of “dangerous runaway convicts” in an old attic.Well, as the story ends, these “convicts” were actually atalking, fugitive parrot. The bird mimicked local outlaws“Sam” and “Gus” and discussed their plans to rob banks.No one had the guts to investigate the vile voices or thesporadic bumps in the night.

Though most of the tales were easily resolved, therewere a few mysteries Grandpa could not explain: situations

where he scratched his head while walking away, as baffledas those who had called him to the bewildering arena. Yearslater, he held the grandkids spellbound as he retold thesenumerous tales of Ghostbusting and mystery solving.

I was entertained by all of the stories, satisfied bythose that were solved, but I remember wondering aboutthose unsettled tales. Many times I have thought, “Is theresuch things as ghosts: mournful, disembodied spiritssearching for unsuspecting humans to posses? Could there

actually be desperate demons franticallygrasping for a carnal host or spirits ofthose that are trapped between Heavenand Hell, searching for release by makingpeace with their demise? No doubt, theseare questions we have all pondered atone time or another. Since the beginningof time, there have been reports of ghoulsand ghosts from within every culture.

One of the most intriguingepisodes of such spirits is outlined in ISamuel 28.11-20:“Then said the woman, Whom shall Ibring up unto thee? And he said, Bringme up Samuel. And when the woman sawSamuel, she cried with a loud voice: andthe woman spake to Saul, saying, Whyhast thou deceived me? For thou art Saul.

And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for whatsawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I sawgods ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her,What form is he of? And she said, An old man comethup; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceivedthat it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to theground, and bowed himself. And Samuel said to Saul,Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? AndSaul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistinesmake war against me, and God is departed from me, andanswereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor bydreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayestmake known unto me what I shall do. Then said Samuel,Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORDis departed from thee, and is become thine enemy”(emphasis added) (King James Version, 1 Sam. 28.11-20)?

If taken literally, this is Samuel speaking, not a demon, or afamiliar spirit. Saul is absolutely convinced it is Samuel, andthe Scripture does not correct this point of view. The mediumis also certain it is Samuel and not a ghoulish imposter. Whatdo you think?

Ed Wood, the ProphetorWhy the Apocalypse Will Be More LikePlan 9 From Outer Space Than Left Behindby Derek P. Gilbert

Few works (including the Bible) have influenced the concepts modernChristians hold of the prophesied end times like Left Behind. This series ofnovels created by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins has spawned a mini-

industry of apocalyptic spin-off novels and movies and soon a first person shootercomputer game. (I’ll leave the disturbing implications of this newest developmentfor another time.)

The flagship Left Behind series has sold over 75 million units to date, farand away the most successful Christian fiction title ever. In fact, Messrs. LaHayeand Jenkins deserve a healthy share of credit for the surge in sales of Christianfiction novels over the last ten years. How ironic then that a man who is arguablythe worst storyteller of the last century came much closer to predicting the shapeof the Apocalypse than Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.A Passion for Angora

Edward D. Wood, Jr. was born in 1924 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Likeso many men of his generation, Wood was drafted and served with distinction inWWII. He was one of 400 US survivors of the invasion of Tarawa, during which3,600 other soldiers died.After a stint as a carnival geek, Wood moved to Californiaand began offering his services as a scriptwriter and director to anyone whowould sit still for a pitch. His persistence paid off with an opportunity to write anddirect a story inspired by the sex change of Christine Jorgenson, Glen or Glenda.While the film offers a fascinating insight into his own personality, as he himselfenjoyed cross-dressing, it also reveals the near total lack of talent that would bethe hallmark of his career.

Wood’s style was perfectly suited to the B-movie genre; he wrote hisown scripts and worked fast, churning out as many as thirty scenes a day, oftenin one take. (Standard practice in Hollywood today is to shoot no more than twoor three scenes in one day.) His career might have left no mark on Hollywood atall, much less on American culture, had it not been for a couple of odd details thatwere featured in Tim Burton’s 1994 classic, Ed Wood.

As was alluded above, one of Wood’s quirks was his fondness fordressing in pumps, narrow skirts, and angora sweaters. Speculation abounds,but no one really knows why he chose to dress this way. Despite this peculiarity,Wood was actually considered a bit of a ladies’ man, and he remained faithful tothe women in his life. A second oddity about Wood is that he somehow met andbefriended the aging and drug-addicted Bela Lugosi, long removed from hisglory days during the 1930s when he and Boris Karloff defined movie horror.Lugosi had starred in two of Wood’s films, Glen or Glenda and Bride of theMonster. But it was Lugosi’s final film appearance that was to be Wood’s crowningachievement.

Grave Robbers from Beverly HillsIn 1959 Wood’s persistence and infectious optimism served him well, as

he managed to secure financing from the Baptist Church of Beverly Hills for anew movie starring Bela Lugosi. His pitch, apparently, was that the church couldtake its seed money, invest in a surefire winner, and then use the profits to do theLord’s work. From this bizarre partnership sprang Wood’s magnum opus, Plan 9from Outer Space.

Plan 9 bears the honor ofbeing dubbed “Worst Film” of all timeby Michael and Harry Medved in their1980 book The Golden Turkey Awards.(I disagree; Manos: The Hands of Fateand The Beast of Yucca Flats, which,coincidentally, features Plan 9 costarTor Johnson, are much, much worse—but I digress.) The film was originallytitled Grave Robbers from Outer Space,but it was renamed becauseWood’s backers consideredthis title sacrilegious.

The production itselfis a clinic in how not to make amovie. Fixing all of the goofs,continuity errors, and cheapproduction values wouldrequire remaking the entire film.The string attached to the topof a wobbly UFO in one of theopening scenes is the least ofPlan 9’s mistakes. Even so,hidden beneath this veneer ofshoddy filmmaking, Plan 9 putsforward prophetic truths thatare sadly missing from the LeftBehind series, truths that weshould use to guide us in thecoming final showdownbetween God and the rebelangels. These truths areoutlined as follows:

1. Don’t Trust Aliens.In Plan 9, the ETs

intend to take over theEarth. If we have learnedanything from the thousands ofreports from experiencers, it is thatWood’s understanding of thehostile intentions of the “visitors”was correct. Those with a biblicalworldview understand the reasonfor these visitors’ hostility: ETs areactually fallen angels. Humanswere given dominion over the Earthand the right to judge the angelssomeday (1 Cor. 6.3), and to manyof these heavenly hosts (about athird of them, according to John),this is apparently intolerable. As aresult, they are willing to do or sayanything to derail God’s plan. Asnippet of dialogue between theprotagonist and his wife suggests

that Ed was fully aware of the originof the film’s visitors:Paula Trent: “A flying saucer?You mean the kind from up there?”Jeff Trent: “Yeah, either that orits counterpart.”

In other words, the character Jeff Trentasserts that the “flying saucer” is fromanother dimension, either heaven orhell. In contrast, the Left Behind series,

like most Christian literature, completelyignores the UFO phenomenon.

2. Extending the Span of Human Lifeby Unnatural Means is NotNecessarily a Good Thing.

The “plan nine” of Wood’sfilm describes a scheme to reanimatecorpses—a stock theme of horror andscience fiction literature since the daysof Mary Shelley and Bram Stoker,inspired by such tales as the legend ofthe golem and the myth of Osiris.Indeed, resurrection of the dead hasbeen a core Judeo-Christian belief sinceancient times (Job 19.25-27). The key,however, is that the timing and methodis God’s.

In Plan 9, the resurrectedcorpses are slow and stupid (traitsexhibited by most movie zombies thatrender them pretty much useless forconquering the Earth). Even so, thereis no question that these unnaturallyrevived creatures are just plain evil.Jesus told His disciples that one of thesigns of His imminent return was that itwould be “just as it was in the days of

Noah” (Luke 17.26). The onefeature unique to Noah’s timethat is being repeated todayis the modification of humanDNA. We are told theexperimentation in geneticslabs is for the betterment ofmankind and the billionsbeing spent on stem cellresearch and gene therapieswill someday eliminatedisease. Better still, we aretold the new technologies willallow us to actuallytranscend the limits of ourhumanity. We will live longerand be stronger, smarter, andhealthier with each passinggeneration. In effect, we willremove the barrier betweenGod and ourselves.While this field of science isbasically still in its infancy,chimeras possessing a blendof human and animal DNAhave already been created.We are told that geneticengineering is necessary

research. Even worse, scientists inEngland have pointed out that theSomatic Cell Nuclear Transfer processrequires so many eggs that the time hascome to consider using the eggs ofcattle, pigs, or rabbits in order to ensurea constant supply of “human” stem cellsfor research.

In Noah’s time, the methodwas, shall we say, a bit less clinical, butthe goal was the same. To borrow a linefrom Wood’s other Bela Lugosi feature,Bride of the Monster, the fallen angelswanted to create “a race of atomicsupermen which will conquer theworld!” According to the Book ofEnoch, the Watchers gained thecooperation of humanity by sharingforbidden technology, trading

knowledge for our help in bringingabout our own destruction. The resultwas an army of nephilim, which nearlydestroyed mankind before the globalflood of Noah.

Need it be mentioned thatgenetic research holds great interest forthe militaries of the world? Much timeand money has been invested intodeveloping soldiers capable of runningfaster, jumping higher, and fightinglonger with less food and sleep. Is thetrue purpose of genetic engineering theregeneration of the nephilim, an armyto oppose the returning Messiah at theValley of Megiddo?

The parallels between thegiants who walked the Earth in the daysof Noah and the direction of today’sgenetic research are striking. WhilePlan 9 does not go beyond simply thedanger of tinkering with the naturalorder of things, the Left Behind bookscompletely ignore the role that thetransgenic and transhumanistmovements will play in the comingcosmic showdown.

3. Flying Saucers are UnreliableTransportation.

Flying saucers have anannoying tendency to crash. The mostfamous, of course, is the downed craftat Roswell, New Mexico, 1947;although, it is not universally agreedas to whether the ship was ofextraterrestrial, extradimensional, orNazi origin. There are others, and I am

admittedly not an expert on recoveredUFOs, so I will not list them here. Thepoint is that the similarities to Plan 9 inthis regard are obvious—the alien craftin Wood’s film eventually crashes in aspectacular (by the standards of 1930sspecial effects—which is too bad, sincethe film was not released until 1959)conflagration. Indeed, the alien shipsin the film are so unsafe they need wiresto keep them aloft!

There is an obviouscontradiction inherent in the UFOphenomenon. Are we to believe thatETs successfully crossed the vastebony gulf of interstellar space, bravingradiation, debris, and an enormous fuelbill, only to crash into their intendeddestination? Certainly, this indicatesfallibility associated with finite, organicbeings such as us, which offers somecomfort in the face of the visitors’obviously superior technology.

But what if it is all a ruse?What if the purpose of crashing a fewcraft and leaving them for examinationis intended to convince humankind thatour guests are biological rather than,as I believe, extra- or pan-dimensional?Either way, the phenomenon ofunidentified spacecraft crashing intothe earth is one more important pointthat was completely ignored by thecreators of Left Behind.

The Future: Where You and I AreGoing to Spend the Rest of Our Lives

Now, as much as I would liketo think that Edward D. Wood, Jr. wasclever enough to conceal a brilliantprophetic vision beneath a façade ofbad filmmaking, just as our “visitors”have concealed their true natures andintentions by sacrificing a few high-techflying ships, I have to be honest—hereally was a bad filmmaker. But in spiteof his breathtaking ability to spincinematic lead out of, well, absolutelynothing, Wood managed to produce aglimpse of eschatological insight withPlan 9 from Outer Space. There is nodoubt that however he conceived hisapocalyptic vision of the coming endof days, whether by divine revelationor through a simple desire to exploit thelast film footage ever shot of BelaLugosi, Edward D. Wood, Jr. somehowleft behind a more plausible scenariofor the prophesied cosmic end gamethan the authors of the most widelydistributed books on end timesprophecy since the Bible itself.

Christian Theologyand an ET Reality,Part 1: The Historical BackgroundBy Michael S. Heiser, PhD

In the inaugural issue of ANOMALOS (now titled OFFICIAL DISCLOSURE), Iaddressed why Christians should care about ufology. In the course of thatdiscussion, I overviewed a host of worldview and theological issues that

would require attention from thoughtful Christians should an intelligentextraterrestrial reality ever become known with certainty. My aim over the nextseveral issues is to revisit my overview and focus on each individual issue raisedtherein.

It is most appropriate to commence this multi-part examination with thefocus of this article on the history of the Christian perspective on extraterrestriallife. In much of the contemporary evangelical Church, the possibility of anintelligent extraterrestrial reality is typically either dismissed as intrinsicallyincompatible with the Bible and biblical theology or is avoided due to a presumedlink with demonology. However, the Christian view has not always existed withinthese perimeters.

This debate predates the time of Jesus, having been traced to thediscussions of the Greek philosophers known as atomists. The most noteworthyof the atomists concerning this topic were Democritus (ca. 450 BC), Epicurus(341-270 BC), and Lucretius (99-55 BC). To give a brief overview of the atomists’beliefs:

“the word ‘atom’ is used in two distinct divisions: the atoms of physicalscience, and that of philosophy. Atomism is traditionally associatedwith the latter, where philosophers have argued that the basic buildingblocks of reality, and which make up absolutely anything that exists, areincredibly tiny objects that do not have physical parts, cannot be split,divided or cut, and which are either point-sized (size less) or they havea tiny size.”2

Since at least some atoms had come together to compose earth and itsliving things, and since there is an infinite number of atoms in the cosmos, to theatomists it stood to reason that some of the infinite number of atoms could havealso come together in a multitude of other possible combinations beyond theearth. The atomists further argued that this potentiality was surely destined tobecome reality. The result was that the idea of other worlds was viewed as notonly coherent, but inevitable.

The atomist position was obviously not rooted in empirical science,articulated as it was in a prescientific era (at least in terms of astronomicaltechnology). Like the more well-known deists of the modern Enlightenment period,Epicurus and Lucretius objected to the ancient idea that the gods interfered inhuman affairs. For philosophical consistency, their alternative required theelimination of the gods from creation. Atomism gave them a completelymaterialistic (“matter only”) view of the universe. There was no need for a divinecreator of nature when everything in the universe came into being “as a result ofthe chance jostling of brute matter (a.k.a., atoms).”3

However, the famous Greekphilosopher Aristotle (384-322 BC)disagreed with such speculations of theatomists. And, like Aristotle, Plato alsoheld that there were no other worlds.The writings of these philosophicalgiants, particularly Aristotle, becameextremely influential in Christian circles.Their influence lasted for centuries andis one reason why the Church initiallytook a negative view on the idea ofother worlds and ET life.

Plato and Aristotle denied thatthere could be other worlds for severalreasons. Plato believed the earth wassimply unique. Aristotle believed thatthe other planets were of a completelydifferent substance than the earth andheld that the universe must be finite.With respect to the latter, it was commonamong the ancient Greeks and Romansto think of the “world” as a central Earthwith its Moon and Sun plus the fiveplanets and the fixed stars. This ideamay sound strange, but it is reflectedin the biblical Greek word kosmos, whichcommentators frequently (andcorrectly) point out as meaning muchmore than the planet earth. For example,in Acts 17.24, Paul speaks of “the Godwho made the kosmos [emphasis added]and everything in it.”4 Paul is arguingthat the true God is the creator ofeverything that is, and so the wordkosmos here means more than our paleblue dot of a planet.

Given this notion that theearth, moon, planets, and stars were“the world,” another odd-soundingargument of Aristotle and Plato makesmore sense to the modern ear: if “thecreated world were a composite (i.e.,there were other worlds), it would besubject to dissolution and decay.”5

Obviously, in their prescientific age,these sages knew nothing of entropy.Lastly, by way of this brief summary,Aristotle’s well-accepted (amongChristian creationists) notion of a PrimeMover (single pre-existent creator)compelled him to reject other worlds.For Aristotle, the Prime Mover lived onthe edge of the known universe. If therewere worlds beyond the known planets(the known kosmos), this would mean

there had to be another Mover—something philosophically impossiblefor Aristotle.

It is obvious, despiteAristotle’s recognized brilliance, thatthese arguments make little sense givenwhat is known today about theuniverse. One can only speculate howAristotle’s views might have differed ifhe had the scientific knowledgeavailable today.

Aristotle’s views, of course,did not go unchallenged. TheEpicureans (followers of the atomomistEpicurus) did not buy his approach fora second. They believed that there werein fact other worlds, but these worldswere unseen by humans. Yet, Aristotlewon the day and his influence heldsway over most structured learning andthe Church well into the Middle Ages.Medieval Catholicism

One of Aristotle’s mostfamous intellectual descendants wasthe Oxford-educated Franciscan,William of Ockham (1280-1347). Ockhamasked whether the First Cause (thePrime Mover) could create multipleworlds. Ockham’s answer may seem togo against the beliefs of his teacher, butin reality, it really does not. In hisreasoning, Ockham created an analogyto the known world. He noted that justas earthly life forms (say, a tree) couldsprout up in “non-natural” environs(like water), so might other worlds“sprout up” outside the natural environof the known world through the agencyof the Prime Mover. It was possible,then, that were other worlds. But forOckham, an equally significant questionwas whether this was probable.Ockham believed that entities wouldnot be multiplied needlessly. Since thePrime Mover was seemingly interestedonly in this planet (recall the geocentricnotion), the simplest answer (Ockham’srazor) was that there were no otherworlds. The most famous medievaltheologian, Saint Thomas Aquinas,agreed, especially since he associatedthe idea of a plurality of worlds withthe supporters of chance (see hisSumma Theologica, pars I, q. 47, a .3).6

However, not all medievalthinkers agreed. In fact, the MiddleAges marked a turning point in theChristian attitude toward thepossibility of there being other worlds.In 1277 a theological conflict within theMedieval Catholic church resulted inthe famous (or for Thomists infamous)219 Propositions. These propositionswere issued by the Bishop of Paris,Etienne Tempier. Proposition 27condemns all who hold the Aristotelianposition that the first cause cannotmake more than one world. Thereasoning behind Proposition 27 waslinked to the idea that any denial ofother worlds impinged upon thedoctrine of omnipotence. This reversalin position echoed an earlier notion ofthe principle of plenitude, which arguedthat what is possible in nature tends tobecome realized. However, thisaffirmation for the possibility of otherworlds’ existence fell short of actuallydeclaring that there could be intelligentlife on those other planets.It would take another two centuriesbefore the Church embraced thatpostulate.

By the middle of the fifteenthcentury, the principle of plenitude ledsome Christian thinkers to approve theidea of the existence of extraterrestriallife. In his On Learned Ignorance (1440),Nicholas of Cusa argued that “. . . [L]ife,as it exists here on earth in the form ofmen, animals and plants, is to be found,let us suppose, in a higher form in thesolar and stellar region. [. . .] Theinhabitants of other stars, whereverthey are, do not have any proportionwith the inhabitants of our world, alsoif their whole region is in a concealedproportion with our own, for the finalityof the universe [. . .] But, since thisregion remains unknown to us, also itsinhabitants remain completelyunknown to us.”7

The sixteenth century sawmore of the same openness, especiallyin the wake of the heliocentric universechampioned by Nicholas Copernicus.Copernicus argued not only did the sun-centered universe displace human lifeas the center of the universe, but also,the sun-centered universe implied thatthe stars were suns like our own. This

idea prompted Dominican monkGiordano Bruno (1548-1600) to proposethat there might be an infinite numberof suns with inhabited planets. By thistime, however, Church officials were ina less tolerant mood. Bruno took theidea that God’s omnipotence allowedthe possibility of other worlds to twomore extreme positions: (1) thoseworlds were likely inhabited byintelligent beings; (2) God’somnipotence and infinitude requiredthat there be an infinite number of suchinhabited worlds. Bruno was arrestedin 1592, his works were anathematized,and in 1600 he was burned at the stake.ET, the Reformation, and the ModernEra

In view of the influentialthinkers within Catholicism who hadweighed in on the extraterrestrialquestion, Protestant Reformers wereobliged to respond. Protestantism’semphasis on the authority of Scripturetypically prompted its spokesmen totake a negative stance. In 1578 L.Danaeus stated that the idea of life onother planets should not be acceptedsince it is not taught in Scripture.8 Thisargument was quite problematic though,since Scripture does not mention theknown planets. Philip Melanchthonargued against the plurality of worlds

“because their inhabitants might be leftwithout a knowledge of Christ or thathis death and resurrection might havebeen required more than once.”9 (It isimportant to note: Melanchthon’sreasoning that the presence of anintelligent ET is impossible due to thedoctrines of the incarnation,redemption, and salvation foreshadowsthe forceful use of this same objectionby the famous non-Christian (deist)writer Thomas Paine.)

Other Christian writersfollowed Melanchthon. The argumentsbehind this objection to an ET realitywill be fully examined in a future article.Suffice it for now to say that thisobjection was not an issue among most,if not all, Christians prior to theReformation. As such, it should not begiven the weight it often is, and as willbe discussed in another issue, thearguments supporting this objectionare not terribly coherent.

As was the case historicallywith Catholicism, there were two sidesto the ET debate within Protestantism.As science journalist Fred Heerennotes, several prominent Protestantpreachers became devoted to the ideathat there could be intelligentextraterrestrial life, among them

American Puritan preacher CottonMather (seventeenth century), Yalepresident/minister Timothy Dwight(eighteenth century), and the grandsonof Jonathan Edwards.10 The Scottishpreacher and mathematician ThomasChalmers (early nineteenth century)also promoted this idea.11 By way ofillustrating an accepted Protestantposition, consider Timothy Dwight’ssentiment: “it is most rationallyconcluded that intelligent beings ingreat multitudes inhabit [the moon’s]lucid regions, being far better andhappier than ourselves.”12

During the seventeenth,eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries,the rise in astronomical science andimproved technology for observing theheavens led (perhaps inevitably) to aspike in enthusiasm for the idea thatthere are a plethora of other worlds thatare inhabited by intelligent beings. Anumber of prominent scientistsembraced this possibility: Sir WilliamRowan Hamilton (1805-1856), Sir DavidBrewster (1781-1868), François Arago(1786-1853), and J. Norman Lockyer. AsFrançois Plisson, a French physicianand critic of extraterrestrial mania, wrotein 1847, “Almost all the astronomers ofour day, and the most eminent among

them, freely adopt the opinions that notlong ago were viewed as being able tospring only from the mind of amadman.”13 As Benjamin Wiker pointsout in his essay on the history of theET life debate:

“The 18th century was a time oftransition for the West, from aChristianized culture to asecularized culture. Deism,standing midway betweenChristianity and atheism, was thereligion of transition. To be moreexact, deism was the religion ofthe Newtonians. At the end of the17th century, Newton had usedthe materialist atomism, ultimatelyrooted in the thought of Epicurusand Lucretius, as a foundation forhis geometrical account of nature.As a result, the closest Newtoncould come to Christianity wasdeism, in which a distant godcreated the atoms and gave theman initial shove. The Incarnationwas simply jettisoned ascosmologically incompatible andtherefore irrelevant.”14

Newton’s law of universalgravitation implied the universality ofnatural laws. From this compellingproposition it was extrapolated thatother stars might have their ownplanetary systems that could sustainlife just as Earth. This logic is basicallythe same as that found today amongevolutionary proponents in the field ofastronomy. This issue as well will bethe subject of another article. For now,take note that this supposition does notderive from evolution, since theevolutionary approach to origins wouldhave to wait another century for itsdebut via Charles Darwin.

During the above mentionedcenturies (seventeenth, eighteenth,and nineteenth), Christians joined thebandwagon, determined not to let thedeists monopolize the discussion. TheEnglish Bishop John Wilkins argues infavor of an inhabited moon in his book,Discovery of a World in the Moone(1638). Wilkins suggests that intelligentbeings on other worlds need not be likehumans—fallen from grace, but even ifthey were fallen, Christ could have diedfor them also. (Once again there is this

concern regarding the perceivedproblem of “alien redemption.”15) Also,Anglican theologians discussed thepossibility of extraterrestrial life in termsof natural theology.16 Finally, Englishtheologian Robert Jenkin tried to relateother worlds to a Christian view:

“I observe, that though it shouldbe granted, that some Planets behabitable, it doth not thereforefollow, that they must be actuallyinhabited, or that they ever havebeen. [. . .] And since the fall andmortality of mankind, they may beeither for mansions of therighteous, or places ofpunishment for the wicked, afterthe resurrection. [. . .] And in themeantime, being placed at theirrespective distances, they do bytheir several motions contributeto keep the world at a poise, andthe several parts of it at anequilibrium in their gravitationupon each other, by Mr. Newton’sprinciples.”17

Of particular influence, at leastin Europe, was the nineteenth centurytheological work of Joseph Pohle,entitled Stellar Worlds and TheirInhabitants (Die Sternenwelten undihre Bewohner, 1884). In this book,Pohle argues for the reality of a pluralitybased on the vastness of the physicaluniverse. Pohle believes the reason theuniverse was created to be so vast wasso that creation could give glory toGod. The best way for the universe toaccomplish this apparent divineintention, says Pohle, would be to haveit populated by millions of intelligentbeings dispersed throughout thecosmos.18 Pohle’s thesis gainedconsiderable weight in Catholic circlesdue to its reiteration in one of the mostwidely diffused European theologicaltextbooks of the twentieth century (M.Schmaus, Katolische Dogmatik,Munich 1957, vol. II, n. 109). AlthoughPohle could be faulted for overstatinghis case and pressing his logic, at thevery least the idea that the Creator’sgreatness and glory are compatiblewith intelligent life in the cosmos iscoherent.The 19th Century Turning Point

By now it should be clear thatthe question of ET life has not alwaysbeen met with hostility and suspicionwithin the Church. Theologicallyconservative Catholic and Protestantthinkers were amenable to the idea.Today, of course, the situation is notthe same. The reasons for thisantagonism have been hinted at in thisdiscussion, namely the extension ofNewton’s “natural laws” to the vastuniverse, which in turn fosters theassumption that life might have arisenelsewhere. By the end of the nineteenthcentury, those “natural laws” went wellbeyond Newtonian physics to “naturalselection” of Darwinian evolution. Itwas one thing to suppose, based onNewton’s work, that there were otherworlds in space that could sustain life.It was quite another to assume that lifeon earth had arisen by wholly naturaland random processes, and so the samecould be extended to planets elsewherein space. In essence, evolutionarybiology piggy-backed off the primaryrationale for the possibility of ET life—a rationale that had been acceptable tomany Christian theologians. Thetheological battles that ensued in thewake of Darwinism (and which are inmany respects still being fought byChristians) have understandablyresulted in an almost hyper-sensitivityto anything associated (rightly orwrongly) with evolutionary thinking.And for this reason, the notion of ETlife smells a lot like evolution to manyChristians. Historically andtheologically, though, this amounts tolittle more than letting the godless framethe debate on a subject that hassignificant theological importance.

The story in 1 Samuel 28 makes reference to the beings that ascended upfrom “out of the earth” as “gods” (1 Sam. 28.13). When Saul asked thewoman with the “familiar spirit” (1 Sam. 28.7) what had scared her so much,

she answered, “I saw gods ascending out of the earth” (1 Sam. 28.13). TheEndorian witch may have identified one of these “gods” as the deceased Samuel,but many Christians are uncomfortable with the idea of communicating with thedead and insist the reference had to be to something else. Exactly what else thisbeing might have been is the question.The Amalantrah Working

In 1918 famed occultist Aleister Crowley attempted to create a dimensionalvortex that would bridge the gap between the world of the seen and the unseen.The ritual was called the Amalantrah Working and according to Crowley becamesuccessful when a presence manifested itself through the rift. He called the being“Lam” and drew a portrait of it. The startling image, detailed almost ninety yearsago, bears powerful similarity with “Alien Greys” of later pop culture.

Nearly three decades after the Amalantrah Working, rocket scientist andcofounder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jack Parsons and his pal L. RonHubbard (Church of Scientology founder) conducted a second ritual, the “BabalonWorking,” in an attempt to reopen the gateway created by Crowley. The two menwere not seeking audience with Lam. They wanted the spirit of Babylon, thearchetypal divine feminine, to pass through the portal and to incarnate itselfwithin a human being. Many adepts of Enochian magic and Ordo Templi Orientisbelieve they succeeded and that she—the whore of Babylon—walks the earthtoday. It would come as no surprise, as Babylonian and earlier “gods” have beendepicted as coming through “gates” for some time. This universal, timelessphenomenon is recorded in the mythos of every ancient culture.Defining the Gods of Gateways

A popular hypothesis sometimes called the ancient astronaut theoryclaims that super-intelligent beings have been visiting the earth throughdimensional gates for eon. According to the theory, these are “the gods ofmythology” and are responsible for creating the human specie.In the introduction to his bestselling book, Chariots of the Gods?, Erich vonDaniken, who, it might be argued, is a father of the ancient astronaut theory, said:

I claim that our forefathers received visits from the universe in the remotepast, even though I do not yet know who these extraterrestrial intelligenceswere or from which planet they came. I nevertheless proclaim that these“strangers” annihilated part of mankind existing at the time and produced anew, perhaps the first, homo sapiens. (10)

As was illustrated in the Hollywood films Contact and Close EncountersOf The Third Kind, von Daniken’s premise took America by storm in the 1960’swith the proposition that mankind was possibly the offspring of an ancient,perhaps ongoing, extraterrestrial experiment. Ufologists like Daniken assert thatthe gods of the mythological record may have been evidence of, and a reactionto, encounters with other-world beings. According to such theorists, ancientmen would have considered space travelers as gods and would have recordedvia hieroglyphs, megaliths, and stone tablets these space travelers’ arrival,

experiments, and departure as a“supernatural” encounter betweengods and men. Mr. Daniken continues:

While [the] spaceship disappearsagain into the mists of theuniverse our friends will talk aboutthe miracle—”The gods werehere!”....they will make a record ofwhat happened: uncanny, weird,miraculas. Then their texts willrelate—and drawings will show—that gods in golden clothes werethere in a flying boat that landedwith a tremendous din. They willwrite about chariots which thegods drove over land and sea, andof terrifying weapons that werelike lightning, and they willrecount that the gods promisedto return. They will hammer andchisel in the rock pictures of whatthey had seen: shapeless giantswith helmets and rods on theirheads, carrying boxes in front oftheir chests; balls on whichindefinable beings sit and ridethrough the air; staves fromwhich rays are shot out as if froma sun...” (26)

Von Daniken also says theodd appearance of some of the gods asdepicted in various hieroglyphs(human-like creatures with falconheads, lions with heads of bulls, etc)could be viewed as evidence of “aliens”transgenically or genetically modifyingancient people and animals. Someaccept this as an alternative to thebiblical account of creation. It isuncertain how many believe such atheory, but approximately eightypercent of Americans alone believe inthe possibility of extraterrestrial life.Some, like the thirty-nine members ofthe Heaven’s Gate cult, who committedsuicide in Rancho Santa Fe, California,and who believed they were beingsummoned by a UFO trailing the Hale-Bopp Comet, subscribe to an eerieamalgam of mysticism and conventionalreligion.

One of the more disturbingaspects of the “beings who breach thegate”, is “abduction”, which continuesto be reported around the world. Thisis visitations by small, typically Greycreatures, who supposedly pilot UFOs

and conduct various experiments on unwilling abductees.Such activity is seen as the malevolent relationship betweencertain humans and these “gods” of creation. Radical aspectsof their procedures can include impregnating abductees andlater removing hybrid embryos.

While much attention is given to interpretingSumerian cuneiforms as evidence of this alien-humaninteraction, ancient Chinese folklore tells of visitation bybeings from a distant land of “flying carts,” the Drona Parva,a Sanskrit text, documented “dogfights” by gods in flyingmachines, and Danikenclaims the Bible itself is the“greatest UFO book of alltime!” The “wheel” inEzekiel 1:15; the “pillar ofcloud” in Exodus 13:21-22;and Elijah’s “chariot of fire”(2 Kgs 2:11), are all viewedas examples of earthvisitation by ET.Daniken is Right: ThereHave Been Strange Visitors

According to theBible:When mankind hadspread all over theworld, and girls werebeing born, some ofthe supernaturalbeings saw that thesegirls were beautiful, sothey took the onesthey liked....In thosedays, and even later,there were giants[nephilim] on the earthwho weredescendants of humanwomen and thesupernatural beings(TEV, Gen. 6.4).

Regardless of one’s interpretation of this particular verse,thousands of years ago heavenly beings visited the earth.They engaged in experiments resulting in a race of mutantoffspring called nephilim. In the New Testament, JesusChrist speaks of these days (of Noah) as being comparableto the time leading up to His return and to the end of the age(Mathew 24.37). Are current “UFO” visitors, and resultantabductions and experiments, the same as those of Noah’sday? If so, why have heavenly beings visited (and continuevisiting) the earth, and what is this genetic tinkering about?

One theory says when the protoevangelium was given(the promise that the seed of the woman would produce achild who would crush the serpent’s head), supernaturalbeings (aliens? fallen angels?) appeared from heaven andperformed genetic alterations on human DNA to intercept,pollute, and cut off the birth line of the Messiah. As did

Pharaoh destroy the Hebrew children so that the deliverermight not be born, as did Herod seek baby Jesus in order tohave Him killed, as does the dragon of Revelation 12 wait todestroy the seed of the woman as soon as it is born, so tooSatan wanted to stop the promised seed before it could besent by God.

Yet my friend I.D.E. Thomas in his book The OmegaConspiracy says Satan had additional plans to killing offthe Messaiah. According to Thomas, Satan (as opposed toaliens) was trying to produce a race of mutant warriors to

exterminate the Jewish raceand, worse, to genetically altercreation from the image of Godto one of Satan’s own.

From Thomas’s point ofview, this explains why peoplelike the Sumerians ofMesopotamia, whose legendspreceded much Hebrewfolklore, brought with them apantheon of deities, withsubsequent religions adoptingsimilar ideas of powerfulbeings—with names like“Zeus” and “Apollo”—visiting the earth, marryingwomen, and fathering half-human children.“They” (Those Who HaveCome Through the “Gates”)Were Also Called “Watchers”

The ancient astronauttheory and the teaching oftheologians alike look to theprehistoric legend of Watchers(mysterious beings who firstappeared in the early culturesof the Middle East) to discussthe Annunaki (SumerianGods), Nephilim (giantsreferenced in Gen. 6.4), and the

creation of mutant DNA following earth visitation by “gods.”We find:

· The Egyptians originally migrated from the biblicalland of Shin’ar, which means the Land of the Watchers.The Egyptians called it Ta Neter—The Land of theWatchers “from which the gods came into Egypt.”· In the Book of the Dead (Plates 7-10) there areprayers for deliverance from the Watchers (Tchatcha,the princes of Osiris), who came from Ta-Ur, the “FarAway Land.”· The Sumerian scribes referred to the Watchers asAnunnaki, which, they said, “came from Nibiru” tojudge/rule the inhabitants of the earth. Some interpretthis Nibiru as “a distant planet” while others say itshould be translated, “Those Who from Heaven to EarthCame.”

· The Bible refers to Nephilm,which also means those who camefrom Heaven to Earth.· In the Book of Jubilees—AKAthe Apocalypse of Moses—theWatchers are compared tosupernatural beings mentioned inthe sixth chapter of Genesis.· The Apocryphal Book ofEnoch associates the creatures ofGenesis 6 with the Watchers:

And I Enoch was blessing theLord of majesty and the Kingof the ages, and lo! theWatchers called me—Enochthe scribe—and said to me:“Enoch, thou scribe ofrighteousness, go, declare tothe Watchers of the heavenwho have left the high heaven,the holy eternal place, andhave defiled themselves withwomen, and have done as thechildren of earth do, and havetaken unto themselves wives:‘Ye have wrought greatdestruction on the earth: Andye shall have no peace nor

forgiveness of sin: andinasmuch as they delightthemselves in their children,The murder of their belovedones shall they see, and overthe destruction of theirchildren shall they lament, andshall make supplication untoeternity, but mercy and peaceshall ye not attain.’” (1 Enoch12.3-8)

· According to the DeadSea Scrolls, only two hundred of thislarger group of powerful beings called“Watchers” departed from the higherHeavens and sinned. Thus, Enochrefers to the Watchers in the HighHeavens as separate from the ones onEarth. The fallen class of Watchers areconsidered by some to be the samecreatures who in the Book of Jude arecalled the “angels which kept not theirfirst estate, but left their ownhabitation...[and are] reserved ineverlasting chains under darkness untothe judgment of the great day” (KingJames Version, Jude 1.6).

After studying this and otherancient records, I.D.E. Thomasconcludes that recent “UFO” abductionactivity may indicate a return of theservants of the Watchers, the lesser“angels” that followed the two hundred,as we approach the end of the age andthe coming of Armageddon. Do biblicaland extra-biblical records support theancient astronaut theory that aliencreatures traveled from distant planetsor different dimensions and geneticallytinkered with Homo sapiens? Werethese flying geniuses afterwardhonored in the images and folklore ofthe gods of mythology? Or is Thomascorrect in that Genesis and similarbooks are a record of fallen angelsacting in accord with Satan?

We may find out sooner thanwe think. Unexplained phenomena areoccurring all around us, and reports of“beings” transversing portals (i.e.ufonauts) are coming in with regularfrequency. Whoever or whatever thesebeings are, the reality of their activitycan no longer be doubted.

The Abduction Phenomenaby L. A. Marzulli

The abduction phenomena have been explored in detail by Dr. Jacobs in hisbooks Secret Life and The Threat. I have read both books and found theaccounts, if true, to be extremely disturbing. For those of you who are not

familiar with these phenomena, the short version of what happens goes somethinglike this: You are laying in bed next your spouse, when suddenly you havea feeling that someone is in your room. You awake to find next to your bed agroup of short creatures (now incorporated into our Lexicon as “Grays”) withlarge, black, almond-shaped eyes. You also discover, much to your horror, thatyou are paralyzed. Every fiber in your being is screaming in fear. You discoverthat the entities are communicating with you telepathically. They tell you thatyou have been chosen and that they need to perform experiments on you. Whilethey are saying this,”they” float you out of the room by taking you through theclosed window; yet, the glass is not broken! You next find yourself in whatappears to be a ship of some sort, and you are lying, without clothes, on a coldmetal table. “They” begin to probe your genital area, and you find that it is verypainful. . . . The above scenario is of course a fictional account of whatabductees report. In actual cases the information is most often gathered by wayof hypnosis. Of course the problem with hypnosis is that it is unreliable. In fact,researchers have found that the hypnotized person is in a VERY suggestive state,and therefore, there is no way of knowing to what extent the information given islegitimate. I have actually written about abduction phenomena in The UnholyDeception, the second book in the Nephilim Trilogy. One of the characters,

Helen, has been abducted since herchildhood. The book chronicles hertrying to find a “way out” of the cycleof abduction.In real life, I have had the pleasure ofinterviewing Corina Saebles about herabductions. Contrary to mostabductees, Corina has not found itnecessary to be hypnotized in order toremember her abductions. I met Corinarecently at a UFO seminar in Denver,where both of us were speakers. Interview with Corina:“When was your fist abduction? Howold were you, and where did it takeplace?”“I was five-years-old when I had myfirst experience. It was in Quebec,Canada.”

“Who took you? What did they (‘thealiens’) look like?” “I am not sure if they took me at thattime, but I was terrified of nighttime,specifically, bedtime. I would alwaysask my parents to check for monstersunder my bed and in my closet. Thisbright, bluish-white light would then

appear outside my bedroom window.But the scariest part was this scary,gray-looking face that would bestaring at me with these huge, blackeyes. The next morning when I wouldtry to talk to my parents about it, theywould always come back with ‘Oh it’sjust a nightmare honey!’ Or ‘It’sprobably just a wild cat from theforest behind our house.’

“And then I would say, ‘But the kittyhad no ears Daddy!’”

“Can you describe whathappened?” “Later on in my life, I had other thingstake place where I recall beings aboutthree to four feet tall with large, black,almond-shaped eyes doing‘experiments’ or medical proceduresto me. They had me on a cold steeltable and used different ‘tools’ to doa variety of different procedures tome. In my book, I explain some of thethings that they did.”

“Were you inside a ship?”“Sometimes but not always.”

“What did the ship look like?”“I have seen many different ships.Some were saucer shaped, otherswere shaped like boomerangs, andthere were even cigar-shaped ones aswell.”

“Did they examine you?”“Yes they did. They remind me of ourown scientists in a way. When theydiscover new species of animals, theywill sneak up on them, put them tosleep, and then proceed to take someblood samples, skin scrapings orremove a tooth, etc. Then last but notleast, they will ‘TAG’ them so thatthey may follow them for the rest oftheir lives to know more about them.”

“How many of them were around youat the time of the examination?”“Which time? Usually for us, it is atleast three to five of them at a time.”

“How did they communicate withyou?” “Totally telepathically.”

“Did you fight them?”“You bet! I tried many times, but mostof the time, to no avail. Theysomehow render a person physicallyunresponsive. I am screaming in mymind and try to move, but no voiceescapes me, and I am unable to move,except for my eyes.”

“Did they show you anything of whatmight happen in the future?”“No. Whatever visions I have hadabout the future . . . has been throughmy own intuition. I have beenintuitive since childhood, but thingshave progressed since my NDE (NearDeath Experience).”

“Where did they say they camefrom?” “They have never told me.”

“What do you think their agendais?”“I believe that different ones havedifferent agendas. Some are makinghybrids. I have seen them with myown eyes—hundreds of glasscontainers filled with a strange liquidand fetuses floating in them. Theylooked half human and half ‘them.’”

“Did you see anything else while onboard the ship that you remember?”“Other humans sometimes.”

“Did they ever impregnate you?” “There is actually one unusualpregnancy (1984-85), which wentmissing overnight. The doctors hadtold me that it would be impossible forme to conceive, but when I did theywere amazed. At three and a halfmonths, during the night I had a

nightmare . . . woke up and all wasgone, fetus and all. There were noexplanations for what happened.”

“How often have the abductionshappened?”“I am not sure, but my children tell methat I have gone missing during thenight on at least four differentoccasions.”

“Do they continue today?”“The last serious ‘abduction’ was onJuly 31, 2003. My friend and I had atleast one hour of missing time andalso suffered bruises and burn markson our bodies. There were at leastnine eyewitnesses to whathappened.”

“Have you ever tried to stop them?”“I have prayed, tried to fight them,but they are in control,unfortunately.”

“Do they mention religious figureslike Jesus? What do they say abouthim or other religious figures?”“My own experiences have neverincluded them asking me anything todo with religious figures of any kind.”

“Do you think they will revealthemselves to everyone?”“Yes I do. They are already in theprocess of doing this, but they will doit at a very gradual pace, which willincrease as time goes on.”

“What do you think their ‘end game’is?”“I am not sure what their finalintentions are, but I can tell you fromexperience that I do NOT believe themto be here for our greater good. Atleast not the ones that have been inour lives.”

Prophecy of America in Daniel 3.3by David Flynn

Babylon RevisitedIn America’s modern colleges, though there are 360 degrees in a complete

circle, a student’s four years of intellectual labor and thousands of dollars produceonly the graduation of one degree. This accomplishment earns the student aBacchus laurel, for this is really what “bachelor” means. Bacchus is the Romanversion of Dionysus, Greek god of wine revelry and facades, lies, and drunkenness.1

During the ritual of graduation, the degree candidate wearsa symbolic hat—a mortarboard. The mortarboard represents the commonperson’s function in a world system controlled by the occult elite, to carry thecement for building to the stonemasons. The stonemasons are the true buildersof civilization, the “architects” fashioning events in modern times. Upon receivingthe laurel of Bacchus, the graduate of one degree frees the symbolic mortar forthe mason by arcing the tassel and string along the surface of their mortarboardhat (as a pestle scooping mortar), and he or she does this with great joy andaccomplishment!

The academic system of the West was designed by the occult elite fromthe beginning, and it is still under their control. The highest members of the“occult Brotherhood” past and present consider themselves graduates of 33degrees.2 It would not be possible to acquire 33 degrees through the academicinstitutions of Europe and America in one lifetime. Only through the membershipin the secret fraternal institutions of the occult can 33 degrees be obtained. Thisdiscrepancy between the possible number of degrees that can be earned by theoccult elite versus the non-occult elite underscores the difference in mindset ofthose in true economic and political power of the world and the rest of humanity.The occult elite believe that the world is under the authority of powerful spiritualbeings in high places. They understand the spiritual nature of reality. At 33 degrees,

the elite illuminated man is socompletely aligned to the spiritualrealm that he takes for granted thetheurgy that occurs in his life. No moveis accomplished in the occult elite’sgoverning of this earth without theguide of powers in high places. At thesame time, the illuminated elitemaintain the facade of mainstreamacademics for the unwashed masses.In the world of academia, the spiritualrealm is subordinate to the scientific,or altogether nonexistent.

Yet the Bible provesotherwise. Who built the first city? Whowas the first banker, and what is theroot of all evil? Who displayed all thekingdoms of the world in a moment oftime to Jesus Christ saying: “If thoutherefore wilt worship me, all shall bethine” (King James Version, Luke 4.7)?He, this driving force of worldcivilization, obscures our view of itsauthorship. He is the prince of thisworld, the inspiration of rebellionagainst God. He is the Devil, “rebel,”and Satan—the “adversary.”

America exists as the greatesteconomic and military power in moderntimes. Though many theologians andeschatologists have dismissed

America’s significance in end-timeprophecy, the illuminated elite havenot. The ancient order of Free Masonryhad a spiritual design for America at itsinception. The location of WashingtonDC was selected according to the tenetsof mystical toponomy, “occultsignificance in earth location.” Thelongitude of the Federal Capitolbuilding sits exactly on the 77 meridian00 minutes, 33 seconds. The latitude is38 degrees, 53 minutes.3 In fact thewhole of the Washington DC complexwas arranged in latitude and longitudethat relates to the number 77. Thelatitude at 38.5 degrees is half of 77degrees.

Seventy-seven is a numberfrom biblical narrative associated withancient patriarch Lamech. According tothe extra biblical texts the Book ofJasher, the Talmud, and Midrash,Lamech accidentally killed Cain.4

Because Lamech understood God’ssevenfold curse on anyone harmingCain, Lamech cursed anyone harminghim 70 plus 7 times. Axiomatically, sinceGod himself swore to revenge Cain,Lamech’s curse was directed againstGod.

The name “AMERICA” canbe found in the bible spaced 17 lettersapart in Daniel 3.3. This is the shortestels. (equal distance letter skip) thatappears throughout the entire text fromGenesis to Revelation.5 To this author’sknowledge, this finding is publishedhere for the first time.

From the beginning of Daniel3.3 until the last letter of the nameAMERICA in the text there are 33Hebrew words. The name AMERICA isspaced 17 letters apart in 33 words: 33 /17 = 1.941176479, and 1.941176479 x 2 =3.88235. By moving the decimal placeto the right one number, the exactlatitude of the Washington DC is found.After all, 38.8235 decimal degrees is38.50 degrees in minutes, seconds.

Daniel 3.3-5 reads:“Then the princes, the governors,and captains, the judges, thetreasurers, the counsellors, thesheriffs, and all the rulers of the

provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image thatNebuchadnezzar the king had set up; an obelisk and they stood before theimage that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then an herald cried aloud, To youit is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time yehear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and allkinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image thatNebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:” (Dan. 3.3-5).

Interestingly, the Washington monument, the largest obelisk in the world, residesin Washington DC. At 555 feet tall, it is also 6,660 inches tall.6 The date of America’sfounding, 1776, is twice 888—the number in Greek letters for Jesus. The secretmeaning of this date is discovered in the understanding of the two advents ofJesus Christ. It can be speculated that America’s supernatural purpose accordingto the occult elite is to initiate His Second Coming. When Jesus came to the worldthe first time His number was 888. When Jesus comes again the number is double:1776, only, the occult version of Jesus is Lucifer.

The history of Daniel 3.3 is also important. In 587 BC ~ 586 BCNebuchadnezzar destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and brought the Jews intoexile in Babylon. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were among the select Jewswho served in the court of Nebuchadnezzar as his counselors. However, thesemen refused to worship the obelisk and were thrown into the fiery furnace.

Daniel witnessed the fall of Babylon by King Cyrus in 539 BC ~ 538 BC.It was Cyrus who released the Jews from captivity to build the temple in Jerusalem.It is an often unrecognized fact that the name “Cyrus,” the liberator of the Jews,means “he who possesses the furnace.”7

Because the bible code of America, a country born in 1776, is found inDaniel 3.3, a relationship seems to exist between America’s founding date and thechapter and verse of this referenced passage in Daniel: 1776 / 3.3 = 538. As ismentioned above, 538 BC is the date that Babylon fell by King Cyrus, who freedthe Jews from their exile. Furthermore, 17.76 x 33 = 586: the year that Babylondestroyed the temple of Jerusalem.

These years can also be calculated using the “77” degree longitude ofWashington DC. This number is a hidden symbol of the Babylon captivity ofJudah: 77.07 x 7.7 - 7 = 586 BC (the beginning of Judah’s exile), and 77 x 7 = 539BC (the end of Judah’s exile).

There were 7 x 7 years from the early calculation of the exile 587 BC to thelate calculation of the return 538 BC. This means that between the first temple’sdestruction in 587 BC by the Babylonians until the second temple’s destructionin 70 AD by the Romans there were: 587 BC - 7 x 7 years - 77 x 7 years + 70 AD.These are all “solar years” of 365 days.The strange thing is, in biblical 360 day years the same duration is 666 years: 666x 360 days is 239,760 divided by 365.2425 solar days = 656.44058 solar yearssubtracted by 70 AD = 586 BC.

If the numbers of the AMERICA code in Daniel 3.3 are multiplied: 17spaces x 33 words = 561. It is important to note that 561 BC is a year that is equallyspaced between the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem and the decree byCyrus to “rebuild” the temple. In fact, according to the AMERICA code, 561 BCmay have actually been the year in which Nebuchadnezzar erected the obelisk.

Interestingly, America’s founding date factors into the number of thebeast of Revelation in an intriguing way: 1776 + 666 x 6 = 5772. As it just sohappens, 5772 is the Jewish calendar year for 2012. The proportion between theJewish year of 2012 and the founding date of America is “hexagonal.” In otherwords: 5772 - 666 x 6 = 1776. This proportion can also be broken down in thefollowing manner:12 x 333 + 1776 = 57725772 x the longitude of Washington DC “77” = 444,4445772 x the latitude of Washington DC “38.5” =222,222444,444 + 222,222 = 666,666

Using the longitude of thecapital of America there is also amathematical suggestion of the comingyear:1776 + 77 + 77 + 77 = 2007 (3 x 77)1776 + 38.5 + 38.5 + 38.5 + 38.5 + 38.5 +38.5 = 2007 (6 x 38.5)1776 + 33 + 33 + 33 + 33 + 33 + 33 + 33 =2007 (7 x 33)

The average Hebrew year isslower by a day every 231 Gregorianyears.This fact is strange because thisnumber (231 or 77 x 3) happens to bethe distance in years between 1776 and2007.

The afore mentioned text ofDaniel 3.3 containing the AMERICAcode and the quoted passage fromDaniel 3.3-5 describes all “nations”being forced to worship the “image.”Since America is and historical Babylonwas the nexus of the civilized world andboth are/were “superpowers” to whichall nations are/were obliged to submitin some respect (whether theybenefit(ed) or not), in this light Daniel3.3-5 seems not only a record of the“image worship” event during theBabylonian exile but also a prophecyconcerning the Antichrist in the samevein as Matt. 24.15: “When ye thereforeshall see the abomination of desolation,spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standin the holy place, (whoso readeth, lethim understand):” (Matt. 24.15). Jesusis referring in this verse to the prophecyspoken in Daniel 11.31 “. . . and theyshall pollute the sanctuary of strength,and shall take away the daily sacrifice,and they shall place the abominationthat maketh desolate” (Dan. 11.31).

This prophecy concerning theantichrist is mentioned again inRevelation:

“And deceiveth them that dwellon the earth by the means of thosemiracles which he had power todo in the sight of the beast;saying to them that dwellon the earth, that they shouldmake an image to the beast, whichhad the wound by a sword, anddid live. And he had power togive life unto the image of thebeast, that the image of the beastshould both speak, and cause that

as many as would not worship theimage of the beast should bekilled” (Rev. 13.14-15).

This message of death for those whorefuse to worship the image of thebeast is paralleled in Daniel: “Andwhoso falleth not down andworshippeth shall the same hour becast into the midst of a burning fieryfurnace” (Dan. 3.6). In order for thisprophecy to occur, the temple ofJerusalem must be built, which couldbe connected in some way withAmerica’s influence over Israel orperhaps only its past influence.(Daniel 12.11 states that Jewish templerituals will be renewed and theninterrupted before the return ofChrist.) The fiery furnace referred toin Daniel 3.6 was used against theJews by conspiring Chaldeans,meaning “clod-breakers.” Thesepeople were also synonymously theBabylonians.

The Washington Monumentwas designed as a tribute to GeorgeWashington, “George = earth worker,”i.e. clod breaker. As a 33rd degree FreeMason, George considered himself (asdo all high-ranking fraternal membersof the order) to be descended from theline of Cain, the first clod breaker orfarmer and the first murderer.

Looking again at Daniel 3:“Nebuchadnezzar spake and

said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach,Meshach, and Abednego, do not yeserve my gods, nor worship the goldenimage which I have set up? Now if yebe ready that at what time ye hear thesound of the cornet, flute, harp,sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and allkinds of musick, ye fall down andworship the image which I have made;well: but if ye worship not, ye shall becast the same hour into the midst of aburning fiery furnace; and who is thatGod that shall deliver you out of myhands” (emphasis added) (Dan. 3.14-15)?

The word for “music” inDaniel 3.15 that prompted the worshipof the obelisk has the followingmeanings:

a) to trim, pruneb) to be pruned

c) to pluck or make music byplucking or pulling strings. (Thismay metaphorically refer to theartful manipulation of countriesthrough finance and politicalmachination.)

“Shadrach, Meshach, andAbednego, answered and said to theking, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are notcareful to answer thee in this matter. Ifit be so, our God whom we serve is ableto deliver us from the burning fieryfurnace, and he will deliver us out ofthine hand, O king. But if not, be itknown unto thee, O king, that we willnot serve thy gods, nor worship thegolden image which thou hast set up.Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury,and the form of his visage was changedagainst Shadrach, Meshach, andAbednego: therefore he spake, andcommanded that they should heat thefurnace one seven times more than itwas wont to be heated” (emphasisadded) (Dan. 3.16-19).

The natural resource thatNebuchadnezzar used to fuel hisfurnace to such high temperatures wascrude oil. It was so plentiful in ancientBabylon that it collected in large poolson the ground’s surface. TheBabylonians used it to pave theirstreets and hold their walls andbuildings together. Boats along theEuphrates were constructed withwoven reeds and sealed with pitch. Itwas the cheapest and most efficientfuel known.

“And he commanded the mostmighty men that were in his army to bindShadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,and to cast them into the burning fiery

Furnace. . . . Therefore becausethe king’s commandment was urgent,and the furnace exceeding hot, theflame of the fire slew those men thattook up Shadrach, Meshach, andAbednego. Then Nebuchadnezzar theking was astonished, and rose up inhaste, and spake, and said unto hiscounsellors, Did not we cast three menbound into the midst of the fire? Theyanswered and said unto the king, True,O king. He answered and said, Lo, I seefour men loose, walking in the midst ofthe fire, and they have no hurt; and the

form of the fourth is like the Son of God”(emphasis added) (Dan. 3. 20-25).

The Daniel 3 story paints inbroad strokes the time of Israel’s exileup until the return of the “Son of God.”The title “Son of God” is used for theMessiah in prophecies of His First andSecond Coming throughout Scripture.The AMERICA code embedded in thechapter 3 text suggests a metaphoricallink between the imagery of the past“fire” judgment of the Jewish men inthe furnace, their salvation by God, andAmerica’s influence over world eventspertaining to the safety and future ofIsrael. It also suggests current eventsof the pruning of Israel’s land by theartful political and economic “music”of America (as was alluded topreviously in this analysis of Daniel 3).

The very next chapter (Daniel4) focuses on Nebuchadnezzar’s fallfrom power through his arrogance: “Thesame hour was the thing fulfilled uponNebuchadnezzar: and he was drivenfrom men, and did eat grass as oxen,and his body was wet with the dew ofheaven, till his hairs were grown likeeagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’claws” (Daniel 4.33). Likewise, SaddamHussein—who believed he was thereincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar—wasdriven from power through hisarrogance, looking like a wild man ashe was wrestled from his hole in theground in modern day Babylon, inDecember 2003.

The succeeding chapter,Daniel 5, deals with Beltshazzar. Thisblasphemous King of Babylon toastedhis pagan gods with the Holy vesselsof the temple of Jerusalem, a temple thatno longer existed (as is the situation inour day). That very hour of the toastGod send part of a hand to composewriting on the wall that pronouncedBeltshazzar’s doom, which is one of themost powerful signs to have appearedfrom the “hand of God.” Belthazzar’sfate: an attack by the man whose namemeans “possessor of the furnace,”Cyrus the Great of Persia (now modernday Iran).

In modern times, America ISthe ruler of Babylon. If the pattern ofbible prophecy can be superimposedover current events, the King of Persia

will move against America’s armies stationed there. After this happens the templeof Jerusalem will be built as it was after the overthrow of Babylon by Cyrus. It isuncertain if America will survive as ancient Babylon did. America wields thegreatest power over the earth at present. The culmination of the goals and wealthfrom the ancient mystery schools is more closely connected with it than anyother country. Since America resides in ancient Babylon as the ruling force holdingthat country together, in looking at Revelation 18, one must wonder aboutAmerica’s fate:

“Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, andfamine;

and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God whojudgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and liveddeliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see thesmoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas,

alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour isthy judgmentcome. . . . And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, Whatcity is like unto this great city! . . . And a mighty angel took up a stone likea great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shallthat great cityBabylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all” (Rev. 18.8-10,18, 21).

Land locked Babylon in Iraq is not in any danger of an ocean wavegenerated by a cosmic impact, but America certainly is. The events in our nearfuture may be a war with Iran as well as a cosmic impact. This may occur togetheror as separate events. Though the timing of God is set as has been discerned inthis article, the exact date and year of the last 7 years of history has not been“fixed” or defined in these calculations. All that can be said for certain is that weare on the brink of very serious events. Revelation Rapture: An Anomaly?by Patrick Heron

The debate rages on. Does the Rapture happenbefore, in the middle, or at the end of the Tribulationperiod? Is the Body of the Church mentioned in

the Book of Revelation at all? Are Christians ever goingto stop beating one another up over this vexed question?

Coming as I do from the cloistered calms of The EmeraldIsle, little did I realize that brother could castigate brother

so viciously in this civil war of words until I dipped my toesin the continent of the United States.

This article will trot us through chapter 12 of the Bookof Revelation, otherwise known as the Apocalypse. In doing so, it

will attempt to shed a little more light on when the Rapture will happenand will add some more colour to the overall picture of what is to come.

At this juncture, may I say that I do not have all the answers and neither doyou. The last guy to have all the answers got out of here almost 2,000 yearsago and has not come back yet. So don’t go getting your knickers in a twistabout who’s right and who’s wrong. After all, “Now we know in part . . . ,” sowe only know part of the story. We will have to wait to get the full version.In the meantime, let brotherly love abound.

To start with, Revelation 12.1: “And there appeared a greatwonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon underher feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars” (King JamesVersion, Rev. 12.1) is an obvious reference to Israel and the Jewishpeople when one compares the symbolism of this verse to that ofJoseph’s dream in Genesis 37. 9-10. Joseph says: “. . . Behold, I havedreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and theeleven stars made obeisance to me” (Gen. 37. 9).

However, sometimes prophetic utterances are not sounderstandable and have dual or multiple meanings. Movingon in our study of Revelation, the second verse says, “Andshe being with child cried, traveling in birth, and pained to bedelivered” (Rev. 12.2). Of course the woman is Mary, whobrought forth the Messiah. This becomes plain as we readon:“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; andbehold, a great red dragon having seven heads and tenhorns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his taildrew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did castthem to the earth: and the dragon stood before the womanwho was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as

soon as it was born” (Rev. 12.3-4).The dragon is, of course, Satan—the Devil, who is the serpent.

The seven heads and ten horns are figures of speech for hisaides de corps. They are mentioned in 1 Corinthians 2.8 and are called the“princes of this world.” We all know who the chief prince is, a.k.a. “the prince ofdarkness,” and it ain’t Dracula.

So the “main man” is Satan, who is the Serpent of Genesis 3. And,according to Rev. 12.3-4, one third of the “stars” of heaven are cast down toearth. These stars are actually those angels who rebelled with Satan and tried tousurp the throne of God way back when in the dim, distant primeval past. Ibelieve this “casting to earth” is still in future. This will become plainer as wefurther examine Revelation.

When Jesus was born, Herodsent out his troops to slaughter all theinnocents under two- years-old inBethlehem. Later the crowds tried tothrow Jesus off a cliff. Then the dragonand his princes finally succeeded bymurdering Him at the crucifixion, butonly temporarily, as God raised Jesusfrom death three days and nights later.

Of course the reason Satanand his comrades wanted the Messiahout of the way harks back to Genesis3.15 where God promises Satan that the“seed of the woman” will ultimately“crush your head,” which is not a verynice prospect if you happen to be Satan.Especially coming (as this promise did)from the Most High God. Thus, Satanand his chiefs have spent nigh on 6,000years endeavoring to derail prophecyand avert their inevitable demise. (Bythe way, be on the lookout as weprogress through our study for theabove quoted phrase, “seed of thewoman.”)

The next verse in Revelation12 must be the shortest definition ofthe life of Jesus in the Bible: “And shebrought forth a man child who was torule all nations with a rod of iron: andher child was caught up unto God, andto his throne” (Rev. 12.5). In otherwords, He is born; He is caught up toheaven. One interesting side notethough is that the word in Greek for“caught up” is harpazo, which is thesame word used in the well-knownsection of the Bible (1 Thessalonians4.17) that describes the saints who arestill alive at the coming (parousia)being “caught up” to meet the Lord inthe air. It is significant to me that thissame word is used here as in Revelation12.5. We shall return to the importanceof this point later, as now it isappropriate to shift our focus to the nextfour verses in Revelation 12:

“And the woman fled into thewilderness, where she had a placeprepared of God, that they shouldfeed her there a thousand twohundred and threescore days.And there was war in heaven:Michael and his angels foughtagainst the dragon; and thedragon fought and his angels.And prevailed not, neither was

their place found any more inheaven. And the great dragon wascast out, that old serpent calledthe Devil and Satan, whichdeceiveth the whole world: hewas cast out into the earth, andhis angels were cast out with him”(Rev. 12. 6-9).

When verse 6 speaks of the womanfleeing into the wilderness, it is referringto a future flight of the Jewish peoplein the time of the Tribulation. Mostexperts on the numerology of the EndTimes (and I am not one of them) agreethat this refers to the second half of theseven year period. And some say thatPetra is the spot in the “wilderness”described in Rev. 12.6 (the place wherethe Jews will be protected).

Verse 7 describes a war inHeaven. Not a battle but rather a war,which is waged between two sets ofspirit men. This is what “angels” are:men. However, they are not flesh andblood men as you and me, but insteadthey are spirit men, which are far morepowerful than mere human beings. Asthe war ensues, the Devil and his evilspirit men are defeated and cast out.And where are they cast to? “Into theearth” (Rev. 12.9).

Contrary to popular belief, theDevil and his angels were not cast outof heaven way back in the days of yorewhen they rebelled in the original coup.How do I know this? Because verse 8says, “…neither was their place foundany more in heaven.” And again inverse 10,“And I heard a loud voice saying inheaven, Now is come salvation andstrength and the kingdom of our God,and the power of his Christ: For theaccuser of our brethren is cast down,which accused them before God day andnight” (emphasis added) (Rev. 12.10).

Perhaps we should think ofheaven in different terms. Just as theworld we live in is a big place, it may bethat the same applies to heaven. As Iwrite this, I am many thousands of milesfrom Australia, which is on the otherside of the globe. Thus in heaven, thecapital city, which is called Mount Sionand the Heavenly Jerusalem, is wherethe Throne of God resides. There Hesits with His son on his right hand side,

twenty-four elders sit on thronesround-about, and there also is amultitude of these spirit men, calledangels. Now let us imagine that Satanand his angels are in a different locationin heaven, maybe some distance fromthis celestial city. Nevertheless, he hasaccess day and night to God where hecontinually accuses the brethern (us)because of our sins down here. But readon. The victory shall be ours: “And theyovercame him, by the blood of theLamb, and by the word of theirtestimony; and they loved not theirlives unto death. Therefore rejoice yeheavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woeto the inhabiters of the earth and thesea; for the Devil is cast down unto you,having great wrath, because he knowsthat he has but a short time” (Rev. 12.11-12).

After my last interview on“Coast to Coast” radio in June last, aman named Greg Shaver from Oregoncontacted me. He said he had found theNephilim, or fallen angels, in chapter 2of the Book of Daniel. Here Danieldescribes four kingdoms. The fourthone is still in the future and describesthe government that will rule on theearth during the seven years of theGreat Tribulation as described in theApocalypse:

“And the fourth kingdom shall bestrong as iron: for as much as ironbreaketh in pieces and subduethall things: and as iron thatbreaketh all these, shall it break inpieces and bruise. And whereasthou sawest the feet and toes, partof potters clay and part of iron,the kingdom shall be divided; butthere shall be in it the strength ofthe iron, forasmuch as thousawest the iron mixed with the miryclay” (Dan. 2.40-41).

Verse 42 goes on to state that the toeswere of iron and of clay. But thecruncher is in verse 43: “And whereasthou sawest iron mixed with miry clay,they shall mingle themselves with theseed of men: but they shall not cleaveone to another, even as iron is not mixedwith clay” (emphasis added) (Dan. 2.43).

We are made of clay, or of thedust of the ground as it says in Genesis.When verse 43 states that “they shall

mingle themselves with the seed ofmen,” the pronoun “they” has to be areference to the Nephilim, the fallenangels, who will inhabit the world oncemore in the coming Apocalypse. We aremere humans compared to the spirit menwho will fall to earth and appear asgods in the future. This is why we aredescribed as miry clay as opposed tothe strength of iron, which describesthese powerful, future spirit men.

The original fallen angels, theNephilim of Genesis 6, are incarceratedin the Abyss or Tartarus because oftheir sin and violence that precipitatedthe Flood in those antediluvian days.But according to Revelation 9, these socalled “gods” of ancient mythology willbe released again into the earth to wreakhavoc on an unsuspecting world. And,as we have already learned in ourdiscussion of Revelation 12.9, the Deviland the rest of his cohorts are to bekicked out of the sphere of theheavenlies and cast down to the earthin the coming Apocalypse. We are givena good mind-picture of this event earlierin Revelation: “And the stars of heavenfell unto the earth, even as a fig treecasting her untimely figs, when she isshaken of a mighty wind” (Rev. 6.13).These “stars” are not those twinkling,little, bright lights one sees whenlooking at the sky of a clear night. Forwhen those twinkling, little, brightlights fall, they do not fall to the earth.Therefore, the “stars of heaven”referenced in Revelation 6.13 are thesame as the “star” in Revelation 9:1 thatfalls to earth having the key to thebottomless pit. It is important to notethat the word “stars” is often usedsymbolically for angels both good andevil. Therefore, Revelation 6.13 showsthe evil angels finally getting evictedfrom heaven, and they are described asfigs falling from a tree, which is shakenby a great wind. Quite a picture,wouldn’t you agree?

When the original Nephilimdescended to earth on Mount Hermonin the days of Jared, they appeared asbeautiful men, full of knowledge,wisdom, and power, and they wereirresistible to the woman of the worldin those days. Perhaps this is how they

will present themselves once more, inthe near future, for “as it was, so shall itbe.” Or, when 2 Thessalonians speaksof these coming end days, “. . . thatGod shall send them strong delusion,that they should believe a lie” (2Thess.2.11), maybe this “lie” will be thatthe Nephilim will appear on earthdisguised as “aliens” to make thingsaright. Maybe they will promise to bringthe world to a higher plain in the nextstep of the evolution of mankind, andthey will convince the world of the ideathat “we are rid of those stupidChristian fundamentalists (because theChristians would have been alreadycaught up in the Rapture), so now wecan move forward.” Regardless of theirspecific strategy, all of civilization willbe deceived by these beings and theirmagic and power. That is, everyoneexcept for the elect.

I got an interesting email froma believer who hails from Australia. Thisintrepid young man is off to Iraq as aprayer warrior with some otherChristians, but I digress. He told me hehad a dream last year while in NewZealand that led him to my book. In hisown words:

“In the dream, I was standing onthe top of a mountain. I looked upinto the sky and saw hundreds offloating/flying pyramids. I feltvery real dread and fear. I pointedto the sky and said, “The Nephilimare here.” Some of them were soclose they were huge (imagine theGreat Pyramid suspended in theair). I have normal dreams, but Iknow this was divine. It was soreal that when I awoke, I was verymuch shaken.”

Now I am not categorically saying thatthis is what is going to happen and thatthe Nephilim will make their appearancein this fashion. I get a lot of newslettersfrom people who say they receive“visions,” and most of them I read witha great pinch of salt. But somethingstruck me about this particular vision.We know that Satan always copies(apes) what the true God does. And theprinces of this world (Satan and hisfollowers) know that the coming NewJerusalem will descend out of heavento this earth in the future and that this

city is pyramidal in shape (Revelation21). Therefore, it makes sense that theNephilim might make their appearancein a similar way, does it not?

Again, I am not saying thatthis is definitely the case: that theNephilim are going to descend out ofheaven in pyramids, but this idea doespose an interesting possibility,especially since the Great Pyramid isheld in such awe and wonder by peopleof the world. Plus, Scripture doespromise that in the End Times; “I willpour out my spirit upon all flesh: andyour sons and your daughters shallprophesy, and your young men shallsee visions. . . .” (Acts 2.17). Perhapsthe young man’s dream of pyramidssuspended in the sky was a vision fromGod.

Returning to our study ofRevelation 12:

“And when the dragon saw thathe was cast unto the earth, hepersecuted the woman whichbrought forth the man child. Andto the woman was given twowings as of a great eagle, that shemight fly into the wilderness intoher place, where she is nourishedfor a time, and times, and half atime, from the face of the serpent.And the serpent cast out of hismouth water as a flood after thewoman, that he might cause herto be carried away of the flood.And the earth helped the woman,and the earth opened her mouth,and swallowed up the flood whichthe dragon cast out of his mouth”(Rev. 12.13-16).

In the second half of the seven years,after the peace treaty breaks down, theDevil goes after the Jewish nation. (Thispeace treaty was brokered by theantichrist between the Jews and theArab nations. How pertinent and topicalwhen we reflect and look upon present-day news as it unfolds before our veryeyes on a daily basis.) I am taking forgranted that you, as a reader ofOFFICIAL DISCLOSURE, are fairly wellacquainted with many of the events andtime lines associated with the Book ofRevelation, the Book of Daniel, etc. Forthere is not time nor space here toexplain all of the nuances of this story.

If you find yourself at a loss and want afuller explanation of the facts, may Irecommend you read a good book onthis subject, such as The Nephilim andthe Pyramid of the Apocalypse by thatgood-looking Irish guy, Paddy Heron.

We are told that the Devil triesto drown the Jewish people with a flood.Why cannot this be a literal event? Inchapter 8 of Revelation, we are told bythe revelator that he saw what lookedlike a burning mountain cast into thesea. As a result of this, one-third of allboats in the sea are destroyed. Now ifone were to see a volcano, and one didnot know what it was, he or she woulddescribe it as a burning mountain. Andscientists tell us that if La Palma, anactive volcano in the Canary Islands,falls into the sea, it would cause aTsunami hundreds of feet high. Israelis situated not so far from this area inNorth Africa. There is a clear run for aTsunami across the Mediterranean, andIsrael is on the coast. Perhaps this iswhy in Matthew 24, Jesus warns: whenone sees these things happening, oneshould run for the mountains (Matt.24.16). After all, if there is a Tsunami onthe way, one would want to get tohigher ground.

In Revelation 12.16 the deviltries to drown “the woman” with thisflood but fails miserably as usual, asthe earth swallows up the water. Whathappens next? Verse 17:“And the dragon was wroth with thewoman, and went to make war with theremnant of her seed . . .” (Rev. 12.17).Wow, wow, wait a minute, “remnant ofher seed”? What is this verse sayinghere? The word “remnant” literallymeans, “leftover.” In fact, my dictionarydefines it as, “a group of people leftbehind.” Well if the Devil goes after the“remnant” of the seed of the woman,this begs the question, where are therest of God’s people? Where did theygo?

I think the answer is givenearlier in the chapter. Remember the manchild in verse 5 who was caught up untoGod and to His throne? Well, bothverses 5 and 17 may very well beexamples of prophetic statements,which earlier in this article I mention doexist, that have a dual meaning. When

we believe in Jesus Christ and get bornfrom above, we receive the seed of Godin us. This seed is eternal, and wecannot lose it. No more than we canlose the seed of our earthly father, sowe cannot lose the seed of our heavenlyFather. We may fall out with our earthlyfather and never talk to him again, butwe will always have his seed in us. Thesame holds true for the eternal seed weare given. It is the token, or guarantee,of our salvation.

When we are born-again, webecome part of the Church of God, theBody of Christ. Christ is the head; weare members of his body. We are alsocalled the Bride of Christ. Thus, whenthe child is caught away to God and tothe throne of God, so too we, asmembers of his Body, are caught awaywhen we are gathered together with himas described in 1 Thessalonians 4.Therefore, the metaphor of the manchild being caught away to God is adescription of the gathering togetherof the Body of the Church, also calledthe Rapture. This is why verse 17 saysthat the Devil goes to make war withthe “remnant of her seed,” as the“remnant” are those saints who willbelieve in and turn to Christ when theyfind themselves in the midst of thetribulation period.

The “seed” of the woman inverse 17 can refer to Jesus, as does“man child” refer to Jesus in verse 5. Orit can refer to all those born-againbelievers who have the seed of God inthem. It can also refer all the way backto Genesis 3.15 where we are told thatthere would be enmity between the“seed of the woman” and “the seed ofthe serpent.”

Verse 17 concludes our studyof Revelation 12. However, at thisjuncture I would like to reiterate someimportant points. First (Greg Shaverfrom Springfield, Oregon, is to thank forthe following insight), when theMessiah arrives back in heaven havinggathered together his espoused, wouldone think he or his Father are going toput up with the Devil slandering hisBride in their presence? I trow not.Picture this: Jesus gets back toheadquarters with his Bride. The Devilcannot accuse them anymore before

God, for there will be no more sinningafter we get our new spiritual bodies.There is not enough room in theheavenly realm once many millions ofbelievers, from all through the ages,arrive. So Satan and his minions havegot to go.

Now there is a war in heavenbetween Michael and his warfaringangels against the dragon and his evilspirit men, and there can be only oneoutcome. The Devil and his angels areousted out and fall to earth like figsfalling from a tree shaken by a mightywind (Rev. 6.13). Woe to the inhabitersof the earth, for the Devil is fallen toearth, and he is wroth, for he knows histime is short (Rev. 12.12). Now comesto pass that prophetic utterance madeby Jesus in Luke, “I beheld Satan aslightening falling to earth” (Luke 10.18).

About the same time of theRapture and Satan’s subsequentousting from heaven, Apollyon andthose Nephilim who have beenincarcerated with him in the bottomlesspit are released to inhabit earth oncemore. Chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians isgiven over to the timing of this event.The context for the entire chapter (setin verse 1) is the “gathering together”of the saints: “Now we beseech youbrethren by the coming of our lordJesus Christ and by our GATHERINGTOGETHER unto him” (emphasisadded) (2 Thess. 2.1).

Verse 3 says: “Let no mandeceive you by any means, for that dayshall not come, except there come afalling away first, and that man of sinbe revealed, the son of perdition” (2Thess. 2.3). The key to understandingthis verse lies in the words, “fallingaway.” Most commentators andteachers say that this is referring to a“falling away” of the Church from theWord and from God (even though thereis no mention here of either “the truth”or the Word or God). Scholars get thisnotion from the Greek word used in thetext which is apostasia. The word“apostasy” has been transliterated intothe English language from this word.But in the original Greek, apostasiadoes not mean apostasy. The Greekword for “away” in the text is apo. Greekis a numerical language as is Hebrew.

Apo is a preposition and denotesmotion away from the surface of anobject. It can be described in terms of aline being drawn from the circumference(or outside) of a circle and going awayin an outwardly direction. Hence it isused as motion away from a place.(The Companion Bible Appendix 104).

It is clear from a literalinterpretation of this passage that the“falling away” is speaking of adeparture of something away from oneplace to another. Hence the term “fallingaway” is speaking of the Churchdeparting away from the surface of thisearth and heading in an outwardlydirection. Remember the context: thegathering together of the saints.

Furthermore, there is noapostasy taking place in these latterdays. In fact, the opposite is the case;there are thousands coming to Christon a daily basis all over the world. Thereis revival going on in parts of Africa,South America, Korea, and elsewhere.After the Revolution in China, not somany years ago, there were about 1million evangelical Christian believers.Today there is an estimated 80 million,and the Church in China is experiencingsigns, miracles, and wonders. After all,the believers there have so little goingfor them; they have to walk out on theirfaith, allowing God to work mightily. Thesame is true of the Church in other ThirdWorld countries.

And of course, look at all themillions of Christians there arethroughout the United States. This isactually somewhat of a paradox, for theUS has more guns, money, drugs, andpornography than any other country.Yet there is a polarization right downthe middle of society because so manygood Christian people in the States areendeavoring to stand on God’s Word.Again, there is no apostasy happeningtoday. What we are instead seeing is“the latter rain” and God pouring outHis spirit as many thousands turn toand trust in Christ and his Word on adaily basis.

Verses 6 and 7 go on to talk ofthe “man of sin . . . the son of perdition”(2 Thess. 2.3) who is incarcerated: “Andye know now what withholdeth that hemight be revealed in his time. For the

mystery of iniquity doth already work:only he who now letteth will let, untilhe be taken out of the way” (2 Thess.2.6-7). The Greek word for “withhold”is the same word as “letteth” in verse 7.It literally means “there is one whoholds fast.” In other words, somethingis holding fast the man of sin in thisplace of detention until something elsecauses that which is restraining him to“be taken out of the way.”

Verse 8 and 9 state: “Thenshall that wicked be revealed . . . whosecoming is after the working of Satan,with all power and signs and lyingwonders” (2 Thess. 2.8-9). The thingthat is preventing the man of sin, theAntichrist, from being revealed and thatis holding him fast in captivity in verse7 is the Holy Spirit, which is living inthe Body of the Church at this presenttime. But when this body of people is“taken out of the way” (2 Thess. 2.7),then the man of sin will be free to be“revealed” (2 Thess. 2.8) to the world.(The Greek word for “revealed” isemphanizo, which means “to cause tobe manifested or shown plainly andclearly.” In other words, people aregoing to see the fallen angels just asthe original humans saw and cohabitedwith these same fallen angels whomaterialized on the earth as recorded inGenesis 6.) Therefore, once thisdeparture, known as the “Rapture” or“gathering together,” has occurred,then the man of sin (the son of perdition)called the Antichrist can be released.

The man’s name is given inRevelation as both Apollyon in Greekand Abaddon in Hebrew, which mean“destroyer.” Of course those of youfamiliar with my book The Nephilim willknow that Apollyon is how the Greeksspell Apollo and that he was one of themain leaders of the original pantheonof Greek gods known as the Olympians,who lived and reigned on this earthprior to the Flood of Noah and who’sruins are with us to this day. This Apollogoes on to become the Antichrist, theBeast from the Abyss, who goes to hisdestruction, not meaning that he willbe destroyed but rather meaning thathe goes on to destroy almost the wholeworld, which culminates with the last

and final battle that begins at the Valleyof Megiddo.

In summation, Jesus comesback to gather his Church and take themto heaven where he has been preparinga place for us. When the church isdeparted, it makes way for theAntichrist, the man of sin, to berevealed. About the same time, there isa war in heaven, as God and His son arenot going to put up with the Bride ofChrist being slandered in theirpresence. The Devil and his angelsmust go, for their place is found no morein heaven. They fall to earth like figsdropping off a tree shaken by the wind.The Apocalypse begins. I sure am gladI ain’t going to be there. Aren’t you?

A Problem Ignored

I set up my Web site in 1999. My mainfocus was to inform the public aboutthe biblical perspective on UFOs

and “aliens.” From a pastoral role, I alsowanted to provide an alternative,biblical-based counseling for victims of“alien abduction.” I have had somecounseling success with abductees, butabductee counseling only represents asmall part of my personal ministry. Whathas come to a surprise to me is the factthat my bigger ministry has been to themany Christian individuals who haverecently come to understand the eventsin Genesis 6 and their replay as “aliensin UFOs.”

The biggest problem mostindividuals I have encountered havehad is how to relate to their localfellowships when trying to share someof this information. Regardless of howwell they present themselves and theinformation, at best they are considerednice but sort of “out there,” and atworst they are asked to leave thefellowship. Most of us haveencountered this type of rejection,especially when involved in a ministry-related topic. The enemy Satan wouldlike to turn the hurt and disappointmentinto anger and hostility toward theChurch and create a furtherestrangement and isolation for theprophetic individual. This problem hasbecome a bigger ministry for me thanany other aspect of the topic of UFOs/aliens and Genesis 6.

The purpose of this article isnot to discuss the Genesis 6 events butrather to give guidance to the NewTestament believers who are going tobe involved someday in explaining tothe masses of fellow believers andothers just what is going on. I hope thisarticle will help the New Testamentbeliever through some difficult times ashe or she realizes what he or she should

and should not do with all of thisstrange-sounding information.This is Big, and I Have to Do SomethingAbout It!

One of the largest, mostimportant missing elements ofeschatology (study of end-time events)is the Genesis 6 scenario revealed andthe realization of how the Genesis 6scenario will be replayed in the end oftimes. Most readers are probablyalready familiar with these events. I donot want to be sensational or at thesame time downplay the importance ofthe Genesis 6 paradigm. Most who havestudied and made the UFO/alienconnection to Genesis 6 realize, on aglobal scale, just how big thisconnection really is. But what shouldwe do with the message? How are weto balance our own lives in the midst ofproclaiming this urgent message? Whatis the big picture concerning ourpersonal involvement?

The first thing to realize is thatmuch of the prophetic aspects of thereplay of Genesis 6 in our day areunconditional prophetic events.Unconditional prophecies are thoseevents and situations that are part of abigger plan leading toward God’sperfect and ultimate will. Many timesthese events are very negative, butthey are a necessary part of God’s plan.Human nature is such that we wouldtend to interfere with unconditionalprophecies if we knew all the detailsbefore they actually happened. If theywere positive, we would find ourselvestrying to assist God in their completion,and if they were negative we would tryto prevent them. In this reasoning it isimportant to know that unconditionalprophecies are usually not known orunderstood until they have alreadyhappened or, at best, when events havealready progressed beyond thepossibility of human interference. Thisis why there is a warning to the saints

living during this time to refrain fromthis kind of interference: “He thatleadeth into captivity shall go intocaptivity: he that killeth with the swordmust be killed with the sword. Here isthe patience and the faith of the saints”(King James Version, Rev. 13.10).

I believe John is notdescribing the taking of prisoners herebut rather, in context, he is giving achoice for believers. The first part ofthis scripture warns against an incorrectthe mental attitude in the midst of thisend-time scenario. To lead into captivityis the attempt to seize the moment byone’s own understanding. By notseeing the bigger picture within theseevents, the natural reaction is tosupport against or prevent negativethings from happening that arepredestined. In this wrong thinking oneloses focus on a higher calling andbecomes captive by the temporaldisruptions. One settles for second bestby acting in a physical manner asopposed to maintaining a spiritualresponse, and as a result, one fails tofulfill the higher ministry as a witness.The second part of Revelation 13.10warns against the physical response tothe wrong attitude. To “live by thesword and die by it” is an option todefend oneself by lethal means, whichappears to be permissible but will resultwith one’s own shortened life and thusdiminished potential of ministry bymeeting an early death by the samemeans. The qualification of thisinterpretation is supported by theconcluding statement, which connotesthat not reacting in this manner is the“patience and faith” (Rev. 13.10) of thebeliever holding out for God’s very best.His best for us, in this time as prophetsor witnesses for the truth, is describedas such: “And they overcame him bythe blood of the Lamb, and by the wordof their testimony; and they loved not

their lives unto the death” (Revelation12:11).The Blood of the Lamb

Accepting Christ is the onlydimensional bridge back to the intendedcreation. The blood of the lamb makeseach person, as they are born-again andtouched by His Spirit, aware of thisdimensional difference of heaven andearth. The shed blood of Christ gives asupernatural hope and expectation tosomething more than just this mortallife. Our focus becomes fixed onanother dimension, heaven, rather thanthe present mortal existence on thisearth. The shed blood then makes thebeliever aware of this difference withoutknowing necessarily the physicsbehind it. This act could only beaccomplished by God alone and He,being fully man and yet God in the flesh.The power of the blood of the lamb isthe power of a sense of newness andhope and the realization of belongingto a better dimension, eternity with theone who loves and created us. Thisrevealed knowledge gives the believingindividual the power to overcome thehorrible global events around him orher and even the mundane things inone’s daily life that take place here, inthis fallen dimension, for the appointedduration.Word of Their Testimony Each person who crosses overspiritually and is born-againexperiences a change in his or herperception of the surrounding worldand one’s own life in it; one becomesforever changed. The individualprocess leading to this moment ofdecision becomes one’s personal storyor the Word of one’s testimony. In itssimplest form, the born-againexperience is best described by thewords to “Amazing Grace,” taken fromthe testimony of the blind man givenback his sight: “Once I was blind butnow I see.” While researching and reading avery deceptive book about the UFO/alien agenda, which was very hostiletoward a biblical perspective, Iwondered for a moment (or rather inretrospect, was maybe told in a whisperby the enemy): “what if this could betrue, and you are wrong?” A sudden

fear came upon me that was instantlyremoved. In that moment of fear anduncertainty, I remembered a hot day inJuly of 1974 as I was in my living roompraying for the first time in my life. Iwas asking Jesus to come into my heart.In that very moment only what I coulddescribe as something like a warmblanket of love floated over my wholebeing. I cried like a baby, feeling like Idid when I came home from the Army in1970. I suddenly knew beyond my ownnatural senses that God was my Father;I had no more fear of what awaitedbeyond death. I felt clean and new. Thatexperience was the Word of mypersonal testimony. In thisremembrance of my testimony, Iimmediately snapped back like a rubberband to a spiritual reality the worldcould never understand.

Loved Not Their Lives unto DeathEquipped with this mental and

spiritual realization of our own personaltestimony, we have the strength to obeythe last part of the above referencedscripture: “. . . and they loved not theirlives unto the death” (Revelation 12:11).It is fact that in the near future we maybe called upon to die because of ourfaith. The Greek word for witness is“Martus,” from which the English word“martyr” was derived (PC Study Bible).The ability to willingly die for our faithis in our focus, as we understand thatthere is a better place of existence calledeternity. We also know that this present,linear, and mortal life is going to end.And we will not create heaven on earthin this dimension, it is not our job norGod’s will; our mortal existence is goingto burn up and come to an end. Ouronly order is to remain faithful andovercome this present system. Tofurther spiritualize this idea, we shouldas, the Apostle Paul put it, “die daily”to our old ways and habits that reflectthis present world system and gatherthe power and awareness of the newworld to come and its reality. Knowing where the ultimateroad may lead in the near future, how

does this insight apply in one’s dailylife now? This issue is probably themost important aspect of this article, asI have seen many gifted men andwomen of God have their faithshipwrecked by the enemy through arebuking and unbelieving Church.

First I will explain what not todo. One should not expect that one selfnor anyone else is going to “wake-up”the church to important end-timeunderstandings. It is just not going tohappen yet. One must realize that he orshe has an understanding of somethingthat is unconditional and predestined.Furthermore, one knows end-timeinformation ahead of the majority ofone’s fellow believers. As a result, onemust realize that others are not goingto be receptive because they have notbeen called to understand yet.Additionally, in order for some of theseevents to come to their completion, themajority of believers must be obliviousto their imminent fruition. If tomorrow,the whole body of believers suddenlyhad the knowledge some of us haveabout the role aliens and UFOs will havein the end-time great deception, thebody could prevent it from everhappening. To do so would actually goagainst the ultimate will of God, as theend-time great deception is all part ofthe big picture, which we cannot see asGod does. Certainly God’s plan will becarried out without our help orinterference. Understanding thisconcept should take the pressure andburden off one’s shoulders, as it is notyet one’s job to convince theunbelieving church about these matters.At this point, all one can do with themasses is plant a nonforced seed forfuture recognition. It simply is notGod’s will at this present time for themajority of believers to accept or toknow end-time truths; therefore, asmentioned earlier, even if told, themasses will not yet understand. Ournatural tendency to interfere isprevented by the Holy Spirit via this“blockage” of understanding. Thus thequestion remains, for who is the end-time message, what does one do withit, and what does one do with oneself?Stay where you have been planted

Most of us find it very hard toremain in a church that will not tolerateour message or us. At the very best allwe can expect or hope for is a placethat will accept us and tolerate themessage as long as we do not push iton others. We will always be lookedupon as a bit “out there” or “kooky.”For now that is OK; it is to be almostexpected.Salt and Light

Today as events are, theunderstanding of the end-time greatdeception is for two groups of people.One group includes the few individualswho are drawn to those who have end-time knowledge and are compelled toask questions and have an opennessto the information given. The Lord inthese present times has allowed manyto know these end-time truths, but weare scattered into all various parts ofthe body of Christ. This scattering isthe function of being salt, even to ourfellow believers. When, and certainlysomeday soon, the UFO/alien liesbecome a public challenge to our faith,churches will be shaken and will berocking on their foundations becauseof their lack of scriptural knowledge ofthese topics and events. This is whereour ministry becomes a public one, andwe are to reach out to our fellowbelievers in our local churches. Rightnow we are to share with anyone whois willing to listen or who inquires, butwe do not come with an agenda to pushthis information on everyone. We arein a sense building pillars within thechurch to be an emergency support forthe time upon which we are called.Events will create this need naturallywithout our plans or schemes. We areto just simply stay where we have beenplanted in our local churches andendure and bear with them.Waiting for Our Time

Waiting for our time is anaction like that of a prizefighter. He orshe must stay in shape and be readyfor the big fight whenever theopportunity comes, but until that timehe or she must remain patient and intop condition, ready for action. We arein a sense in a holding pattern until weare needed, and then, with a servant’sattitude, we need to remain in our

churches that currently, at best, onlymake light of us. However there isexciting news; there is a mission fieldfor having this understanding of UFOs/aliens and the Genesis 6 paradigm.Go Where the Fight is Today

Without exaggeration thereare hundreds of thousands of peopleflocking to the New Age belief system.These individuals have forsaken JesusChrist and the Bible for every wind ofdoctrine. One of the fastest growing“New Age” doctrines is the conceptthat aliens are our creators, the cloudsof heaven in the Bible areextraterrestrial spacecraft, and soonthese beings will make their appearanceto bring us into a greater cosmiccommunity and a New Age ofenlightenment for mankind. We havethe truth, so we should go and tell NewAge followers in any way and mannerthat is scriptural and fruitful. TargetingNew Age believers should remain ourfocus at this time, and as a result, wecan have an exciting, fruitful life inChrist with the ability to endure therejection and nonserious treatment bythe world and fellow Christians.Getting Stoned As a Prophet NewTestament Style

Realize also that in the OldTestament times prophets who carriedan unpopular message were stoned todeath. Today we live in a much kinderand gentler society. We no longer stonethe unpopular prophet but rather theChurch’s softer way to dispose of anunpopular prophet is to simply ignorehim or her and exclude him or her frominvolvement and activities until sodiscouraged he or she just goes away.Realize that no matter how anointed,talented, or experienced one is in theWord and gift ministries, one willprobably remain on the outside ofthings and not be too actively involvedor invited to minister. Do not let this bea discouragement. It is ok to abidefaithfully where one is, remainingfriendly and loving toward one’s fellowbrothers and sisters. Be the bigger,wiser brother or sister without acondescending attitude. Remember, ourministry for now is simply to those whoare genuinely interested and to those

who are running into hell who believethe lies in which we have the truth.This should be enough to sustain usuntil the big day when all theinformation surrounding the end-timesgreat deception comes out into theopen.You Are a Human Filter; Be Careful

It has been my experience inthe past that many times just before theLord gives me some understanding thatis not personal but rather is more globalor universal, He will humble me in somefurther shaping way. I will usuallyreceive something of a personal natureso that I realize my weakness, whichhelps to remind me of my dependenceon him. It will usually be something thatI may comment back to him, “Well thatisn’t really that big of a thing andcertainly not related to my ministry is itLord?” One better believe if the Lordbrings something up, it is important toHim and to oneself. Scripture remindsus of one important quality for aprophet, HOLINESS: “For the prophecycame not in old time by the will of man:but HOLY men of God spake as theywere moved by the Holy Ghost(emphasis added) (2 Pet 1.2).

The gift and ministry of aprophet is free, but discipleship andobedience are necessary for this giftand ministry to be performed withaccuracy. Imagine one pouring a brandnew can of oil into one’s car and usinga strainer funnel to direct the flow of oilinto one’s engine. In the process onedrops the filter on the ground, and nowthere is grass mixed with sand, dirt, andother objects in the filter. How pure isthe oil going to be when it has to passthrough this dirty oil filter funnel? Itwill be a mess. Likewise we are humanfilters that have to be clean in order forwhat the Holy Spirit is pouring throughus to come out pure and clear.Sometimes it is the little things that willclog and contaminate us as a filter. Thescriptures allude to this thought in itsreference to the little foxes that can ruina vineyard by stealing the grapes a littleat a time (Song Sol. 2.15). The rewardsrendered by obedience (which leads toHoliness) are a powerful, clear messagethat is easily and boldly proclaimed.

When God SpeaksOne of the tests of maturity in

a Christian’s life is one’s reaction whenGod speaks. Whether it be that small,still voice heard during a time of beingquiet before the Lord in prayer, animpression while reading from the Wordof God, the bearing witness of the HolySpirit while hearing a sermon orteaching, or even information gleanedfrom someone else in the form of apersonal prophecy, what we do nextwith this revelation may determine anoutcome for more than just ourselvesas we learn to wait upon the Lord. Onething of which to be aware: many timestruth shared with others ahead of itsintended time will produce confusioninstead of the intended direction andguidance.Do You Have the Play or the Ball?

To illustrate, the Christian whohas just received a form of revelationfrom the Lord could be likened to afootball player sitting on the bench. Thecoach approaches the benched playerand gives him the next play to give theother ten players and sends him outonto the playing field in the huddle.How outlandish would it be if theplayer, instead of going to the huddle,started running toward the end zone asif he had the ball and were going tosingle handedly win the game byscoring the touchdown all by himself.

Many times, young or old,Christians get caught up in theexcitement of a revelation and speak orreact before the proper time or evenbefore having complete knowledge.Acting upon a revelation prematurelycan have a very negative effect andproduce intended results that affectmore than just the individual.Do Be, Do Not Be

Two examples of do’s anddon’ts are illustrated in the Bible. Forinstance, Mary, upon hearing that shewas going to birth the promisedMessiah, and thereby be the mother tothe incarnate God, pondered this in herheart: “But Mary kept all these things,and pondered them in her heart” (Luke2:19). “Ponder” in the Greek, sumballo(Strong’s number 4820), means tothrow together, to discuss with onesself as a mental exercise of analyzing,

discerning, and settling the matter inone’s own mind. The scripture also tellsus that she kept those things the angelspoke to her. “Kept” in the Greek,suntereo (Strong’s number 4933), meansto remember and guard or protect thematter. She kept the disclosedinformation secret, guarding it bykeeping it to herself. This is true wisdomconcerning supernatural revelations. Itis important to wait upon the Lord forfurther direction, confirmation, ordefinition directing whether or not arevelation is only for oneself or for acertain group of people at a proper time.

What results would havehappened if Mary went struttingaround during her pregnancy tellingeveryone, “See this?” (as she pointedto her bulging belly) “I’m carrying Godin here, an angel told me so.” While thisstatement is true, it has no businessbeing revealed ahead of God’s intendedtime. This knowledge was meant to bekept secret and quiet, a personalrevelation just for her.

Joseph was another whoreceived a supernatural revelation (inthe form of a dream): “And Josephdreamed a dream, and he told it hisbrethren: and they hated him yet themore” (Gen 37.5). Joseph in his youthand lack of experience blurted out hisdream to his brothers without realizingthat there existed a tense relationshipbetween them and that the dream wouldonly inflame things further. This foolishact started the course of events thatwould actually fulfill his dream. Thefulfillment of his dream turned out tobe a Romans 8:28 plan, everythingworked together for the good in theend, but it could have been less intensefor Joseph, perhaps, if he had usedwisdom in of what he spoke, how hespoke, to whom he spoke, and when hespoke.A Recent Personal Example of aMistake with Balance

My father was a living exampleof both examples. In 1979, many of ourmembers including my Dad and I wereprophesied over by a well-knownmissionary evangelist Steve Fato. MyDad’s prophecy was stated that “TheLord was going to extend his life beyondhis time and that he would be a pillar to

others and that when they came to himthey would trust him because they knewhe would not turn them in.”

Because of the part of theprophecy regarding “not turning themin,” my father began to believe thatsomeday in the “end-times” he wouldassist people who would not take the“mark of the beast” in escaping tosafety. This prophecy was personal,and he kept it to himself for awhile. In1984 my father was dead from a heartattack for more than ten minuets. Hewas miraculously brought back to lifewithout any damage. This, we allagreed, was the first part of theprophecy fulfilled. His life had beensupernaturally extended, as he shouldhave died that year. As a result, hebecame bold and shared with his elevengrandchildren the rest of the prophecy.Nine of them were my brother’s kids whowere not exposed to too many thingsabout the Lord. Since that time my Dadhad several other heart attacks far lesssevere, a triple bypass, and alsoangioplasty, all of which he survived.He became a familiar face at the localhospital, and if you knew my Dad, hejust saw all of this as a missionaryjourney. Every time he went in, myDad’s witness was leading a nurse orfellow patient to Jesus. Much of hisstrength was in the hope of thisprophecy not yet fulfilled. He stayedaround out of a sense of duty andresponsibility because he still hadsomething to do. The last time he wasin the hospital, his countenance wasdifferent. He began to lose his short-term memory, and he realized that hewas too weak and too old to everperform what he hoped he wouldsomeday do for the Lord. He began tobe depressed and brokenhearted thatsomehow he had failed the Lord andwas being passed over.I prayed and pleaded with the Lord forunderstanding, and faithful as He is, Igot the answer.While I was Pastor of one of the firstevangelical Christian MotorcycleMinistries, we had a rigid line to tow inorder to let the rest of the world seethat this was a legitimate ministry. I wasthe authority figure of this ministry.Bikers and authority are usually not the

best mix, and this was no different, evenin this Christian environment. Now myDad was never a “biker” and got hisfirst motorcycle at fifty-years-of-age tobe with his son. My Mom and Dad werein my ministry, and I realized that theywere parents to everyone who neverhad a loving parent. When I was a kidsome of my friends would come overnot to visit me, but to talk to my folks. Idid not like it then, but looking back onmy life, how blessed I was to have suchloving parents who could love beyondtheir own. My father was the confidantto everyone in the group. I was theauthority figure, and many would notcome to me with their problems, insteadthey always went to my parents. Theyalso knew that whatever was said tothem never came back to me or anyoneelse. My Dad was a pillar in the churchand a confidant who “would never turnthem in.” He was also the same waywith his eleven grandchildren.

Although my Dad had a hopein a wrong interpretation of a personalprophecy, he never let it dictate his dailylife. He realized that if the prophecy wasgoing to happen, it would be by theLord’s direction and not anything hecould or would do in his own power.With this balance and living a daily walkin obedience with the Lord, my Dad,just being himself, fulfilled theprophecy. I shared this with my Dad,and I think he was a bit disappointedthat he was not going to do the thingshe hoped he would, but there was alsoa peace that maybe he had not failedthe Lord after all. The next time my Dadwent to the hospital it was the last time.On January 17, 2000, my Dad heard thewords from the Lord that every born-again believer longs to hear, “Well donethou good and faithful servant, enterinto joy of your Lord.”What About You?

When God speaks, wait uponthe Lord for further understanding:“But they that wait upon the LORD shallrenew their strength; they shall mountup with wings as eagles; they shall run,and not be weary; and they shall walk,and not faint” (emphasis added) (Isa.40.31). The Lord will always confirm Hiswill in a two-fold manner. Wait for timing

and discernment so that the revelation is able to produce the good fruit intendedand not division or confusion. The prophecy may be true, but it may be only foroneself or others in the right setting of time. Wait upon the Lord, and do not be areactionary. God is never late and anything done in haste or strife is never goingto be right. And if one makes a mistake, no one is not going to get stoned intoday’s social climate. God can make it right with a humble spirit and willingnessto learn (Romans 8:28). Many times making mistakes is the only way to gainwisdom. I would advise the believer to get over oneself and press forward. WhenGod speaks one needs to listen, wait, and then obey.In Conclusion

It is my hope that I have provided some understanding of a biggerpicture, which will aid in remaining patient and walking in His love in the midst ofridicule and the rejection one might be facing. Our duty for the current times is tominister in the small ways we can. The day will come when no one can run awayfrom the end-time great deception as it becomes public and forces everyone toconsider, “Who’s your Daddy, aliens or God?” At this time one’s knowledgetempered by the Holy Spirit will make one the pillar of strength for many and thevictorious warrior in the final big fight against the powers of darkness. But untilthen, “Look up and know your redemption draws near.”

By adding the term, “inland, “ Plato meant the measurement of the islandacross its middle from the seashore on the southern edge of the PersianGulf. As can be seen from the dotted area on Map ASM-6, this part of

the island of Atlantis, the oblong plain, faced or “looked” to the south and wassheltered from the North by the Zagros Mountains just across the Bay (at thattime).

Plato went on to say, “I will now describe the plain, as it was fashionedby nature and by the labors of many generations of kings through long ages. Itwas naturally for the most partrectangular and oblong, andwhere falling out of the straightline had been made regular bythe surrounding ditch. Thedepth, width, and length of thisditch were incredible and gavethe impression that a work ofsuch extent, in addition to somany others, could never havebeen artificial. Nevertheless, Imust say what I was told. It wasexcavated to the depth of ahundred feet, and its breadthwas a stadium everywhere; itwas carried round the whole ofthe plain and was ten thousandstadia in length. It received thestreams that came down fromthe mountains and woundaround the plain and met thecity, and was there let off intothe sea. Farther inland,likewise, straight canals of ahundred feet in width were cutfrom it through the plain and again let off into the ditch leading to the sea; thesecanals were at intervals of a hundred stadia, and by them they brought down thewood from the mountains to the city and conveyed the fruits of the earth in ships,cutting transverse passages from one canal to another and to the city. Twice inthe year they gathered the fruits of the earth--in winter having the benefits of therains of heaven, and in summer the water which the land supplied, when theyintroduced streams from the canals.” 118

There are numerous ruins of unknown origin, gravel ridges, and smalldepressions throughout and about the area I have designated as the Fertile Plainof Atlantis, so I am certain that, with little effort, subterranean imaging systemswill eventually reveal many these ancient aqueducts, particularly the 1800 kilometerring-moat around the Fertile Plain. The fact that the Plato’s report states theextent and shape of the great, surrounding ditch could never have been artificialreminds me of a similar line that I had read in an oil exploration report. In late 1988,just prior to flying to the Middle East, I had secured documentation from an oilexploration team of a survey they had made just off the coast of Bahrain. Thisdocumentation made mention of some very unusual aqueducts that they hadstumbled across at the bottom of the Gulf in the shallows off Bahrain. Theirdocumentation also revealed they had already decided, even though these canals

appeared so regular as to have beenartificial, that they were, instead, justnatural formations.

The 100-foot-deep and 600-foot-wide aqueducts were locatedfarther inland for shipping timber fromthe Jabal Tuwayq and the Zagrosranges to the capitol city of Atlantis.They were spaced about 16 to 19kilometers apart and led toward thePersian Gulf, so they should bedetectable with a modicum of effortusing modern technology. In fact, evena cursory glance at the map inland fromthe Mesopotamian end of the PersianGulf reveals a number of parallel,“natural” depressions that are spacedvery closely to the anticipated distance.Poseidon’s Palace and the AtlanteanMetropolis

“Near the plain again, and alsoin the centre of the island at a distanceof about fifty stadia, there was amountain not very high on any side. Inthis mountain there dwelt one of theearth-born primeval men of thatcountry, whose name was Evenor, andhe had a wife named Leucippe, and theyhad an only daughter who was calledCleito. The maiden had already reachedwomanhood when her father andmother died. Poseidon fell in love withher and had intercourse with her, andbreaking the ground, enclosed the hillin which she dwelt all round, makingalternate zones of sea and land largerand smaller encircling one another.There were two of land and three ofwater, which he turned as with a lathe,each having its circumferenceequidistant every way from the centre,so that no man could get to the island,for ships and voyages were not as yet.He himself, being a G_D, found nodifficulty in making specialarrangements for the centre island,bringing up two springs of water frombeneath the earth, one of warm waterand the other of cold, and making everyvariety of food to spring up abundantlyfrom the soil.”119

“Near the plain again,” setsthe location of Poseidon’s Mountainclose to the Fertile Plain located at theend of the Persian Gulf; whereas, thefollowing phrase “...and also in thecentre of the island at a distance ofabout fifty stadia, there was a mountainnot very high on any side” reveals hismountain was dome-shaped, as it hadno sharp peaks and was situatedsquarely in the middle of the islandwhere Poseidon would make his home.The centre of this island and not thecentre of Atlantis was referred to by thephrase, “in the centre of the island.”Furthermore, the centre of this smallisland was about nine kilometers (50stadia) away from the shore of the FertilePlain, so that once the edge of the plainis found, the location of the island canbe readily determined. Plato referred tothis mountain as a “hill”--not amountain--in the middle of thepreceding paragraph, furthersubstantiating that it was a smallmountain.

This area of the world isrenowned for its diapiric salt domes andmore than 150 salt domes have beenmapped in the southern Iran andPersian Gulf regions alone. The saltcores of these domes have penetratedan average of 5000 meters ofsedimentary strata to reach the surface.In the Persian Gulf these domes formspectacular, multi-colored islands dueto the presence of varied strata of exoticsandstone, formations, and no oil orgas is found in these salt domes.120

Therefore, it should come as no shockto anyone when I suggest this “dome-like” mountain of Poseidon’s choicewould have been a diapiric salt domethat intruded into the sandstoneformations of the area. Furthermore, theencasing formations of sandstonewould have eventually been removeddue both to natural erosion and toquarrying of the colorful sandstonelayers to build their bridges anddwellings. I believe this salt dome wouldhave collapsed into itself at some timeduring or after the cataclysmicdestruction of Atlantis due to theerosion of the salt by sea-waterintrusion; however, until I can get intothe area to inspect the dig, the extent of

the collapsed dome will remain a guess at between 5 and 50 meters.Poseidon’s Island was surrounded by three moats of water (ASM-2)

that were cut perfectly equidistant from the homestead in the centre of this smallisland. The reference to Poseidon’s use of the artesian water sources fits perfectlywith a peculiar phenomenon that occurs from along the Persian Gulf coast fromthe island of Abu Ali down to the island of Bahrain; where, as I have just mentioned,unusual, submarine aqueducts of “natural” origin have been observed. “Thenorthern and northwestern areas of Bahrain form a narrow belt of date andvegetable gardens irrigated from prolific springs and wells that tap artesian water.This water percolates through water-bearing rocks beneath the seabed to riseunder pressure in Bahrain. Off the northern coast of Bahrain, freshwater alsorises in submarine springs on the seabed and has for centuries been captured inskin bags by divers.”121 Here, at least, we have evidence of a well-watered, fertilegarden on the northern tip of Bahrain, which includes “al Muharraq, “ thenorthernmost island of the two islands that comprise Bahrain.

ASM-2“And beginning from the sea they bored a canal of three hundred feet

(91.4m) in width and one hundred feet (30.5m) in depth and fifty stadia (8 to 9km)in length, which they carried through to the outermost zone, making a passagefrom the sea up to this, which became a harbor, and leaving an opening sufficientto enable the largest vessels to find ingress.”122 I have illustrated the layout of theconstruction they performed on Poseidon’s Island in ASM-2, but although alMuharraq has a harbor complete with a modern seaway access, it is not Poseidon’sIsland--even though it is close.

...Moreover, they divided at the bridges the zones ofland which parted the zones of sea, leaving room for asingle trireme to pass out of one zone into another, andthey covered over the channels so as to leave a wayunderneath for the ships; for the banks were raisedconsiderably above the water. Now the largest of thezones into which a passage was cut from the sea wasthree stadia in breadth, and the zone of land whichcame next of equal breadth; but the next two zones, theone of water, the other of land, were two stadia, and theone which surrounded the central island was a stadiumonly in width. The island in which the palace wassituated had a diameter of five stadia. All this includingthe zones and the bridge, which was the sixth part of astadium in width, they surrounded by a stone wall onevery side, placing towers and gates on the bridgeswhere the sea passed in. The stone which was used inthe work they quarried from underneath the centreisland, and from underneath the zones, on the outer aswell as the inner side. One kind was white, anotherblack, and a third red, and as they quarried, they at thesame time hollowed out docks double within, havingroofs formed out of the native rock. Some of theirbuildings were simple, but in others they put togetherdifferent stones, varying the color to please the eye,and to be a natural source of delight.123

The illustration of this arrangement (ASM-2) revealsthe diameter of the island, including its outer zone of water,would have been 4.9 to 5.2 kilometers; however, the diameterof the outermost, surrounding stone wall has to be determinedby the following:

Leaving the palace and passing out across the threeharbors, you came to a wall which began at the sea andwent all round; this was everywhere distant fifty stadiafrom the largest zone or harbor, and enclosed the whole,the ends meeting at the mouth of the channel which ledto the sea. The entire area was densely crowded withhabitations; and the canal and the largest of the harborswere full of vessels and merchants coming from all parts,who, from their numbers, kept up a multitudinous soundof human voices, and din and clatter of all sorts nightand day.124

Thus, the radius to the enclosing stone wall would havebeen (50 stadia+13.5 stadia = 63.5 stadia) or between 23.2kmand 24.4km.

Consider this article, “Quala’at al Bahrain: (Northerntip of the island). 125 Bahrain has been called the “island ofthe dead,” as it is almost entirely covered by some 100,000

burial mounds, (ASP-2) both large and small, dating back toprehistory. Until recently it was thought that the pre-Islamicpopulations of the eastern coast of Arabia went there tobury their dead and that no prehistoric city, temple or palaceexisted on the island, which is largely desert. Recentexcavations have proved this to be incorrect by revealingthe wall and houses of a town, a palace of unknown style,and a sanctuary. “It is now clear that Bahrain was the centreof a vanished empire which extended to present-day SaudiArabia and to which the Sumerians referred in their texts asthe realm of Dilmun, country of the rising sun, centre ofearthly paradise, and the only region to survive the Flood.

The objects that have been dug up indicate the existence of commercialactivity oriented towards both India and Mesopotamia. At one time subterraneancanals piped spring water to irrigate the gardens. “The archeological workings atBahrain are still only in their initial stages. However, on the Arabian coast and onnearby islands traces of the same civilization have been uncovered, some of themeven older than those discovered at Bahrain. The key site that would enable adate to be set for the beginning of this culture unfortunately, cannot be excavated,for it is located at the women’s bathing place, making it strictly out of boundsaccording to Arabian custom. On the surface, shards of pottery, flint instruments,and obsidian blades dating from about 4000 BC have been found. One day, througharcheological work, the history of the Dilmun civilization may be revealed. Atpresent it is one of the oldest-known civilizations in the world. There is a possibilitythat further discoveries might reveal the existence of an even older culture.”When serious archeological effort is again applied to the Saudi coast, to Abu Ali,and to Bahrain, I am certain the “even older culture” of “Atlantis” will berecognized, and so I am exploring ways to re-initiate such efforts.“The entire circuit of the wall, which went round the outermost zone, they coveredwith a coating of brass, and the circuit of the next wall they covered with tin, andthe third, which encompassed the citadel, flashed with the red light oforichalcum.”126 “Orichalcum” was the Grecian name for an alloy of copper whichwas malleable and corrosion-resistant; and, which reflected a dark reddish colorwith a golden undertone. The detailed nature of “orichalcum” is given in thegeological proofs. These metals were all mined from the same mines in centralSaudi Arabia and from west of the Jabal Tuwayq as will be discussed in thegeological section.

Here was Poseidon’s own temple which was a stadium [182m.] in length,and half a stadium [91m.] in width, and of a proportionate height, having astrange barbaric appearance. All the outside of the temple, with the exceptionof the pinnacles, they covered with silver, and the pinnacles with gold. Inthe interior of the temple the roof was of ivory, curiously wrought everywherewith gold and silver and orichalcum; and all the other parts, the walls andpillars and floor, they coated with orichalcum. In the temple they placedstatues of gold; there was the G_D himself standing in a chariot--thecharioteer of six winged horses--; and of such a size that he touched theroof of the building with his head; around him there were a hundred Nereidsriding on dolphins, for such was thought to be the number of them by themen of those days.127

This was such a big structure that modern, underwater imaging techniques couldeasily find it, that is, if permission could be obtained to search the locality! Thegold, orichalcum, brass, tin, and copper would have survived the ravages of thesea and exposure to the air much better than the other metals over the centuries,so they should be easily detectable by modern electronic detectors in suchconcentrated areas.

In the next place, they had fountains, one of cold and another of hot water,in gracious plenty flowing; and they were wonderfully adapted for use byreason of the pleasantness and excellence of their waters. They constructedbuildings about them and planted suitable trees; also they made cisterns,some open to the heaven, others roofed over, to be used in winter as warmbaths; there were the kings’ baths, and the baths of private persons, whichwere kept apart; and there were separate baths for women, and for horsesand cattle, and to each of them they gave as much adornment as was suitable.Of the water which ran off they carried some to the grove of Poseidon,where were growing all manner of trees of wonderful height and beauty,owing to the excellence of the soil, while the remainder was conveyed byaqueducts along the bridges to the outer circles; and there were many temples

built and dedicated to manyG_Ds; also gardens and places ofexercise, some for men, and othersfor horses in both of the twoislands formed by the zones; andin the centre of the larger of thetwo there was set apart a race-course of a stadium in width, andin length allowed to extend allaround the island, for horses torace in.128

Here, again, we see reference to themany artesian springs still in existencetoday on Bahrain and, in particular, onal Muharraq. Numerous, smalldepressions and ruins have been foundon the islands of Qatar, Abu Ali, Faylaka,and Bahrain and on the Saudi coastlinealong the Persian Gulf. The depressionswill eventually be proven to have beendwellings and open water cisterns ofthe metropolis. Certainly, the homes,temple, and palace already found arebut a small sampling of the vast empire,which had its central trading metropolisbased near to the Fertile Plain. A racecourse of the size mentioned shouldalso be detectable at a radius of 2.1kilometers from the centre of Poseidon’sTemple island when suitable imagingtechniques are employed.Geological Clues

To assist in the understanding of events in relation to our revised chronology for the geological processes thatformed our planet, I have included the following table to equate the selected ages to the Setterfield Time Line discussed inthe Time Scroll.Paleozoic 600 to 250 million 3600 BC to 2950 BCMesozoic 250 to 70 million 2350 BC to 2000 ADTriassic 250 to 190 million 2950 to 2750 BCJurassic 190 to 160 million 2750 to 2650 BCCretaceous 160 to 70 million 2650 to 2350 BCCenozoic 70 million to 2000 AD 2350 BC to 2000 ADThe geological history of the Arabian platform and, in particular, of the Persian Gulf is most interesting because of thegreat variety of changes that the area has undergone over the ages. The earthquakes, the subsidence, and the upliftsthat attend tectonic plate movements and the sedimentation processes that follow large scale flooding have all helped tocreate the uniqueness of this region.

“In the Arabian Platform we find that to the north and east the bed-rock is buried under thick layers of horizontalor only slightly disturbed Paleozoic rocks; these are mainly sediments from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and fromthe earlier part of the Cenozoic Era. These sedimentary strata lie within the bounds of the Mesopotamian down-warp, whichoccurs in the Persian Gulf region; here the bed-rock has sunk to a depth of about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) and contains largeamounts of petroleum.”129\ Massive earth subsidence have occurred in the eastern end of the Persian Gulf; while uplifts ofequal magnitude have occurred in Oman farther to the east. The net effect of these was the sinking of the capitol city ofAtlantis and the plains surrounding them. Geological evidence suggests a sudden subsidence in the order of some 200meters in the southeastern end of the Persian Gulf, while the Oman coastline on its Arabian Sea side reflects a rise by anequivalent amount. This region of the world is well-known for its unusually dynamic plate movements. The Arabian shieldis apparently sliding underneath the Iranian plate in the region of the Zagros mountains overlooking the Persian Gulf, whichis “situated in a pronounced depression and is connected with the Gulf of Oman through the Straits of Hormuz. The Zagrosmountains extend along the northern shore. They were formed during Tertiary episodes of folding, and the thickness ofrocks in the Zagros is over 12 kilometers. The Persian Gulf was created as a result of these mountain-building processes.”130

The dynamics of this area have been quite unique. The mechanism for the earthquake that would have sunken Atlantis isthere. The depression of the Gulf basin is evidence of a subsidence of, at the very least, a few hundred meters.

An interesting fact can be gleaned from Plato’s account of the sunken Atlantis, “...the combatants on the otherside were commanded by the kings of Atlantis, which, as I have said, once existed, greater in extent than Libya and Asia, andafterwards when sunk by an earthquake, became an impassable barrier of mud to those voyagers from hence who attemptto cross the ocean which lies beyond.”131

As I mentioned earlier in this discussion, Plato has used the present tense form, “attempt to cross” indicating thatthe condition of impassable mud still existed circa 600 BC. This statement also implied that a sea lay beyond the muddywaters of the sunken Atlantean area. No area in the region of the Atlantic presented that sort of a shipping hazard as late as600 BC, or the Phoenicians would have recorded it in their travels around Africa through the Gibraltar Pass.

From the reconstructed map of the Persian Gulf with the water line lower by twenty meters (Map ASM-3), it can beseen that two seas once existed in the Gulf itself. The western sea would have stretched back toward the MesopotamianValley, while the eastern sea would have met the Gulf of Oman and entered into the Arabian Sea I am not certain that thesmaller one close to the Mesopotamian end of the Gulf was present during the Atlantean age; but it certainly would havebeen when Bahrain was originally named. The Arabic name “al-Bahrayn” means “two seas;”132 however, since the PersianGulf was divided into two water bodies with the passage between the two smaller “seas” occurring on the same latitude asand just a few kilometers north of Bahrain, it is not hard to understand. It is easy to understand Plato’s statement to theeffect that the mud of the sunken Atlantis hampered those ships trying to get to the Indian Ocean or the Arabian Seathrough the Persian Gulf because the map shows the Fertile Plain of Atlantis was a shallow sink, and that it would haveblocked the path to the seas beyond. Every clue fits nicely and exactly.

OrichalcumThe Greek word for “orichalcum” was “oreichalkos,” and many modern translations make this to be “mountain copper.”

One ancient Greek historian claimed that “orichalcum” was an alloy of copper and zinc (now known as brass). If this were correctthen the physical characteristics of brass would be in conflict with the Plato’s account on two counts. First, Plato lists brass as aone of the metals the Atlanteans used to coat one of the circular zone walls, and since he stated that another of those zone wallshad been coated with orichalcum, the latter could not have been what he meant. Second, brass has a color that is more yellow thangold itself. Now, since orichalcum was supposed to have “flashed red in the light of the Sun,” brass does not fit the description.

Certainly, such an alloy would have had more tensile strength than pure copper, but it would also have been more brittle,which would have made coating the rocks with it impractical. Also, it would have corroded terribly in the salty sea environment.However, Plato’s statement concerning the abundance of orichalcum on the island gives another clue, “In the first place, they dugout of the earth whatever was to be found there, solid as well as fusile, and that which is now only a name and was then somethingmore than a name, orichalcum, was dug out of the earth in many parts of the island, being more precious in those days thananything except gold.”133 The alloy could have been formed of either copper and gold or silver and gold, both of which occurcommonly in the region, but as the silver-gold alloy is not copper based, nor is it reddish, it can be removed from consideration.The gold-copper alloy occurs naturally but does not exhibit the reddish color, so it too must be removed from consideration. Platoreveals the Atlantean culture had either mined or alloyed gold, silver, copper, tin, and brass.

The findings of a U.S. Geological Survey made in southern Saudi Arabia in 1981 proved that a very ancient culture(Atlantis?) had mined for gold and other minerals in the Jabal al Hajrah quadrangle (se ASM-4), and according to that report, “TheHajrah-Hamdah group of ancient gold mines is in the Jabal al Hajrah quadrangle and includes the Hajr, Jabal Hajr, Hajr Gharb, andBir al Hamdan ancient mines, and several other lesser occurrences. 134 The Hajr mine has the most extensive ancient workings insouthern Saudi Arabia (Worl, 1979). The workings at all of the mines consist of pits, trenches, inclined shafts, and vertical shafts.The pits and trenches are sand and rubble filled, 1 to 3 meters wide, 1 to 2 (?) meters deep, and as much as 160 meters long. Thevertical and inclined shafts are as much as 20 meters deep. A very extensive ancient village adjoins the Hajr mine on the southeastcorner of the mine.” Although gold was the main mineral extracted from these mines, significant amounts of the ores of copper(chalcopyrite), zinc (sphalerite), iron (pyrite), and lead (galena) were found. In these mines alone is the proof that Atlanteans hadaccess to gold, copper, and brass (copper-zinc alloy).

The presence of lead in these mines was the single clue that finally identified the mysterious “orichalcum” alloy. There is one oxideof lead that is known as “red lead” (Pb3O4) because of its red color.

Modern translations assume the morphology of “oreichalkos” to have been “oros” for “mountain” and “chalkos” for“copper.” However, when one analyzes this Greek word in the following manner, more detail can be extracted. The Greek word,“chalk” or “chalko, “ means copper all by itself, so why would Plato have referred to it by an extended name unless it weresomething more than just copper. It would appear that “or-ei-chalkos” was the name of an alloy of copper and some other metalor metals. Was that other metal “gold”? In nature, gold frequently alloys with copper, as does silver, and all three minerals werelisted in the adornments of Atlantean structures. The color of native copper is reddish, as is cuprous oxide, so if there were a smallamount of gold in the alloy, it would allow a certain amount of copper oxidation on the surface of the alloy while still retaining adegree of the lustrous reflection from the non-oxidized gold component in the alloy. Even if the alloy had not oxidized, the red colorwould have come from the native copper ore, the presence of which would have dominated the alloy due to the difference in thediameters of the gold and copper atoms. Still, when copper oxidizes it tends to go darker and darker as time passes; furthermore,when exposed to salt-water and air over a period of time a greenish film of copper carbonate (patina) forms on the surface.

If “gold” was not the other metal, what was? The clue comes in realizing that the “Bronze Age” began right in the timeperiod when Atlantis existed or circa 3800 BC. I found an interesting article on the history of bronze that settles the question oforichalcum’s identity once and for all. For the most part, bronze was made as an alloy of copper and tin, both of which were inplentiful supply in the Saudi mines; however, there were some forms of early bronze that were found to contain lead, and this formof bronze was found to easily workable and very resistant to corrosion. When all the clues are put together, we find thatorichalcum was an alloy composed of three elements that the Atlanteans mined in their quarries: copper, tin, and lead. The oxideof lead would have given the reddish tint to the already reddish bronze color formed by the copper-tin alloy and the resultingmixture would have been the best metal they could have used for durability, malleability, and beauty. I think we should re-name“orichalcum” to “Atlantean Bronze;” and if some of you more industrious young metallurgists out there ever brew up some of it,please send me a sample.The Quarry Stones

“...The stone which was used in the work they quarried from underneath the centre island, and from underneath thezones, on the outer as well as the inner side. One kind was white, another black, and a third red, and as they quarried, they at thesame time hollowed out docks double within, having roofs formed out of the native rock. Some of their buildings were simple, butin others they put together different stones, varying the color to please the eye, and to be a natural source of delight.”135

“Al Muharraq” is an Arabic word derived from the verb meaning “to be thin or layered like a cake.” This name was givento this area because of the multicolored stone strata, which dominate the islands in this area. Bahrain, Abu Ali, and al Muharraqcontain “arched layers of rock consisting of limestone, sandstone, and marl (loose clay, sand, or silt containing calcium carbonate).”136

The color of sandstone depends upon its detrital grains and bonding material. Three common colors of thesandstones in the region of Bahrain are: white, greenish-black, and red. The white sandstone is formed by sand grains ofmore than 95% quartz and are known as “quartzarenites.” If the grains of quartzarenite are cemented together with either

hematite or iron oxide, they take on thecolor of red. Those sandstonescontaining more than 25% feldspar and,hence, high potassium content are pinkin color. Sandstones having more than25% rock fragments are known aslitharenites, and when they have beensubjected to tectonic activity maybecome extremely hard and attain adark, greenish-black color. Obviously,all these colors match those used in theAtlantean constructions.Atlantean Energy Consumption?

There is such an abundanceof oil in the Persian Gulf area, one couldnot help but wonder if there were aconnection between the deposits of oiland the destruction of the portion ofAtlantis that later was known asDilmun. I began researching the oilformation conditions in the region andfound surprising results. The followinginformation about the conditions thatare known to create oil (at least theconditions as most petroleumgeologists believe in 1989) shed a newlight on the reason for theconcentration of such shallow oil fieldsin the region. It is commonly believedthat oil is produced by a metamorphicprocess in which organic material isconverted to petroleum. TheEncyclopedia Britannica described thisprocess in the following manner:

Petroleum is associated withsedimentary rocks, principallythose deposited under marineconditions but also includingcontinental sediments....Mosttypes of petroleum containcomplex hydrocarboncompounds termed porphyries,formed either from the greencoloring matter of plants(chlorophyll) or from the redcoloring matter of blood(hemin).....Many petroleum-likehydrocarbons have been found inrecent marine sediments as wellas soils in many placesthroughout the world; theseoccurrences form a link betweenpresent living organisms and thepetroleum found in sediments ofolder geological ages.....Thepreservation of organic materialsafter the death of their

contributors is best obtained byrapid burial within fine-grained,clay-sized sediments along seamargins, particularly in the vicinityof river deltas.....The totalthickness of sediments depositedin individual areas may vary fromonly a few feet to well over 50,000feet (15,000 meters), and petroleumoccurs today in commercialquantities at depths varying fromless than 100 feet (30 meters) tomore than 25,000 feet (7,500meters). 137

Geological studies of theregion state that a little heat andpressure helped to form the oil basinsin that area. Furthermore, evidenceshows the Persian Gulf region producedoil more rapidly than any other placeon Earth because the crust of the Earthwas the thinnest at that point;therefore, the ambient heat was higherthere. If there had been large amounts

of flora (chlorophyll) and fauna (blood:hemin) in the region before the Flood,and if large amounts of other flora andfauna had been washed into the sunkenarea by the Flood, then, although theFlood would have receded to a veryshallow depth of some 200 to 300 metersin the area, large amounts of oilproducing organic material would havebeen present in a “marine environment”next to the Tigris River “delta,” if notother deltas in the region arising fromSaudi Arabia. Furthermore, the “fine-grained, clay-sized sediment” wouldhave been present in the area in greatabundance. The Berri Oilfield next toAbu Ali contains such an abundanceof oil and gas wells; we have to wonderif we have been burning themetamorphosed remains of ancientAtlantis and its life forms in ourautomobiles and factories of today.What a “consuming” thought!

shown rebuilding the tower.Above the Tower of Babel wereshown the eurostars, butinverted, as in witchcraft, with thecentral points downwards.

The story of the rise and fall ofBabylon told in Genesis chaptereleven should have been awarning to all men for all time.Nimrod and his followers tried tobuild a tower to reach theheavens, but it was thecounterfeit building of acounterfeit religion.

Mystical Babylon is now beingrebuilt in Europe, and those whowould follow Nimrod have nowsucceeded in building aparliament building in Strasbourg,France, with whose centerpiece isan enormous replica of theunfinished tower of Babel. Eventhe secular press could not missthe connection between the oldand new towers of Babel. Theylabeled the new French structure‘The Tower of Euro-babel.’ Thismonumental building, full oflabyrinthine corridors, is usedonly one week in four, becausethe rest of the time the EUParliament meets in committees inBrussels. [. . .] Nigel Farage is amember of the EuropeanParliament who belongs to theUnited Kingdom IndependenceParty, which is fighting to getBritain out of the superstate. Hesaid in an article just after theopening day: ‘We realize we arenot merely entering a building, butbeing allowed access to thetemple of a bold new empire’”(Franklin).

Conclusion

The fallen sons of God are stillactive among us, behind the worldpowers that shape our times. Thedeception of paganism is reemergingwith a vengeance through the guise ofthe New Age movement, and the stageis being set for the final days. Israel,God’s chosen nation, was regathered in1948 after nearly 1900 years of exile, andthe gods of the nations know that theirtime is short. Israel has reemerged tofulfill her final role in prophecy. Weshould not be surprised that manynations of the world, under theinfluence of the fallen sons of God,continue to exhibit an unjustifiablehatred of her.

Satan will give one last effortto complete a universal kingdom thatdefies God; a kingdom that was seededin Eden and that has roots reachingback to Nimrod and the Tower of Babel.As it was in the beginning of Satan’skingdom, so it shall be again. However,let us remember that Christ said, “I amthe Alpha and Omega, the beginningand the end, the first and the last” (Rev.22:13). There is one road back toparadise, and it does not lead throughthe efforts of man but rather through across. It lies not in self-improvementbut rather in dying to ourselves so thatGod may remake us into the creationswe were intended to be. In the

meantime, let us not be caught unawarethat Satan’s kingdom is rising, and thefallen gods of this world seek to leadthe multitudes astray throughparanormal deceptions and lyingwonders (Matt. 24.24, II Thess. 2.7-12).As Adam and Eve traded paradise fordeception, so now we have inherited aparadise for deception.
