How to use zoom.us for video conferences in Eumind projects

Zoom.us is a free cloud HD video meeting service.

Zoom.us works on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones

For PC and Mac, the app will auto-install when you start or join a meeting

Always test before at school with 2 computers

For each VC you should do at school at technical test with 2 computers:1. the computer that you will use during the VC

with microphone (built in or external), sound boxes

2. a computer/laptop in another room or outside the school

It is important that the 2 computers are not in the same room, otherwise you will have echo

Check if microphone and sound of first computer is OK.

Zoom.us is free for 2 computers connectedYou don’t need to have an account for joining a

meeting (guest), but it is better to make a free account http://zoom.us

You can sign up for free account on zoom website

One of the 2 (host) needs to have a free zoom.us account and needs to invite the other school by sending the meeting ID

The guest clicks on the link or opens the zoom.app and clicks on Join meeting.

Direct start: the host starts by clicking: Start with video

Zoom will open, showing your webcam image

You will see your meeting ID on top. Click on Invite and send invitation by mail.

You wait until the invited person comes online. If you would stop the meeting and start a new meeting, the meeting ID will be different and you will have to resend the invitation.

The host can schedule the meeting one or more days before

Click on button: ScheduleTopic: e.g. names of schoolsStart date, durationTo avoid errors fill in time zone

Amsterdam. Indian time is 4 and half hours ahead e.g. 10 a.m. NL is 2.30 p.m. IN

Select: Enable join before hostClick scheduleSend a mail with meeting ID of

scheduled meeting to the other school

The guest will login on scheduled time by clicking on link in mail;

Or click: Join, and fill in meeting ID

Host logs in by clicking on Meetings, next to Home button

Continuation scheduled meeting

The host clicks on Meetings and will see all his scheduled meetings

When you move your mouse over the screen, you see Start, Edit etc

Click Start and you will come in your scheduled meeting

As you can see: each meeting has a unique meeting ID

The host has to send the meeting ID to the guest(s)

Zoom.us with more than 2 computers connectedIf you connect with more computers (maximum

25), it is free up to 40 minutes The meeting will stop after 40 minutes, but you

can agree before that the host will start immediately a new meeting with new ID for 40 more minutes.

When the meeting stops, the host will click on: Start with video and invite the others by mail or send meeting ID by text message.

If the host has a paid account the meeting duration is unlimited (price 9,99 dollar per month)
