How To Use Valens Thixer®

THICKEN A MILKY DRINK WITHOUT GETTING LUMPY
Valens Thixer® can be added to ALL of your hot and cold drinks to make them to the recommended consistency. It canalso be added to fruit juice, coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, soup, meat stocks ... or any liquid.
Diluting the supplement with 25% volume of water.
Whisking it prior adding ThiXer.
Hydrating ThiXer powder with 25% volume of water first and then mix it to the drink.

Patients with swallowing difficulties may require thickened fluid consistency to aid the intake of fluid. Your speech therapist will recommend you the fluid consistency that is suitable for you.
As a general rule, the 3 common consistencies of thickened liquids are:

Measure recommended amount of ThiXer by using scoop provided in the can.
Add ThiXer slowly to the drinks while stirring with spoon or fork. Do not over mix.
Allow liquid to sit for at least 1 minute to achieve correct consistency before serving.
After mixing, check fluid con-sistency by dipping fork inside.

When feeding, do not leave the spoon in the thickened liquid or stir it repeatedly as saliva on the spoon will change the consistency.
