The right password manager for you

Lastpass securely save passwords for you

And automatically log you into any site on the internet

Downloading Lastpass and creating your account

Type in lastpass.com into your browser

Lastpass will recommend the best plugin package

Based on your browser or operating system

This what appears in Firefox browser

Click “Quick Install” button

This what appears for Chrome browser

Click “Get LastPass Free” button

When you click this “Add extension” button

This lastpass icon will appear

In the corner of your browser menu, click it

You will now be able to create your lastpass account

Click “Create an account now” link

Enter your Email and create your Lastpass Master

Password

Click this dropdown and

choose your time zone

Check this then click “Create

Account” button

It will ask you to re-enter your

password here

Click “Create Account” button

Your lastpass vault, it’s empty

Try to login to your lastpass using another

browser

It will ask you to verify your login

To verify,open up your email from lastpass

click the “Verify My New Location”

button

Your lastpass vault will open

How to add or save a site

Into your empty lastpass vault

And use lastpass to log back into that site

First, make sure you are logged into your lastpass

Before opening or going into a site like facebook

Color of your lastpass extension is black or gray

When you are logged out into your lastpass account

It turns red when you are logged in

It will also suggest for a stronger password

If you have entered a weak password

Let’s say you’re logging into your facebook using lastpass

Go into facebook site

Enter your username and

password

This box will appear prompting you to save your password

into your lastpass vault, click on this plus sign

This save site box will open, name

the site entry

Assign a group for your facebook site, say social

click the “Save Site” button

Your facebook password is now saved into your lastpass vault

Click your lastpass extension to check your vault

It will drop down to this toolbar

This is where you can view, edit, group, delete,

Or share your sites.

Here also, you can access

your “Form Fills” profiles

And fill out forms in seconds

Click Secure Notes

Click “Save” after making a note

Click this “My LastPass Vault”

Your facebook site is listed in your lastpass vault

Click the facebook site name to launch it

And you will automatically be logged in

The next time you login to a specific site

That you saved in your lastpass,

Just click the site name to launch

And you will be automatically logged in

After downloading the lastpass password manager,

and creating an account with your lastpass masterpassword

You’ll be able to securely store your login information,

Autofill and auto login to your favorite sites

And sync your saved data across all browsers and platforms

If you do not want to install a lastpass plugin,

In your browser, you can access your lastpass vault

via https://lastpass.com

Adding and automatically saving a site into your lastpass vault

The easiest way to add new sites to lastpass

Is to go to the site and log in

Let’s say, you want to log into your linkedin account

Type in linkedin.com into your browser

Or google linked and click the login link

Type in your email address and password

Click this “Sign In” button

Lastpass will present you with this pop up

Asking you if you want lastpass to save your password

Press the “Save Site” button

A pop up will expand like this

Specify a name for the account

Type or select a group for the account

By assigning groups to each of your sites

Allow you to organise your accounts by categories

Some example of groups are social, financial, shopping etc.

After pressing save site, lastpass automatically enter the site data

Into your lastpass vault

a vault that you can carry on using the website

Lastpass will automatically fill in information

The next time you visit the site.

Another way is to click the lastpass icon

Click “Sites” then “Add Site”

Click this “Yes” button

Lastpass prepopulate with a domain name

Select a group or folder for this account

Type in username and password

You can specify whether you would like lastpass

To make the site a favorite

Require password reprompt

and/or autologin

Click the “OK” button

You will find the entry of the stored site

If you would like to view the new entry

Find the entry and click on the pencil icon

click the edit form fields link

When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.
