![Page 5: How to Study Abroad in Germany](https://reader034.fdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042706/5871d4ec1a28ab423c8b66ef/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Students from within the EU, EEA or
Switzerland do not need a visa to
study in Germany. They simply need
to register at the nearest registry office
on arrival.

This also applies to students from a
number of other countries, including
Australia, Israel, Japan, Canada, New
Zealand, South Korea and the US.

This also applies to students from
Andorra, Brazil, El Salvador,
Honduras, Monaco and San Marino,
as long as they don’t intend to work
while studying in Germany.

Students applying from elsewhere will
need to apply for a visa before arrival.
This can be done through the nearest

so apply well in advance!

This covers contributions to the student
union, administration, and the cost of a

public transport.
