How to set up my computer to download and play audio podcasts from www.cccm.org

This tutorial will show you how to set up a sermon podcast feed to your computer. Keep in mind there are many ways to do this, but this method is very straight forward and works on both Apple and Windows operating systems (if you use Linux OS the whole podcast procedure involves two easy clicks with mouse—okay, that's my plug for Linux). Let's get started!

This whole podcast process relies on a very simple and free software program called Juice. Juice is a full featured 'podcast' manager that works with virtually any media player e.g., iTunes, etc. From your computer browser go to the Juice website:http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/

Once you are there, choose the download for your computer operating system. Complete the download and install the software as you would for any other software package.

If you would like more detailed instruction with Juice click on the 'Support' link in the green menu bar. There is a nice easy to read User Guide—I recommend you do this for further reference.

From our menu bar click 'Sermons' and then scroll down and click on 'Other' under the Subscribe to Podcast – All sermons area (do not use the iTunes link provided).


The 'Other' link should take you here.


Now, with the mouse select the URL in your browser address window.http://cccm.org/?page_id=50&podcast

From the Edit menu command 'Copy' the URL. You can minimize your browser window for now and launch the Juice program software (double click the yellow lemon icon in you applications list).

Once Juice is running, click on 'Tools' and then click 'Add a Feed'. In the URL textbox window 'Paste' our podcast URL feed that you copied a few steps back:http://cccm.org/?page_id=50&podcast

Now, click Save.

Now we need to go to the Juice Preferences to make sure you are connected to your media player on your computer. If you have more questions about this please see the User Guide pdf.


Click on the 'Player' tab. Select your player i.e., iTunes or WMP or ? Click on 'Set track genre to'.Click 'Save' if needed.


Now go to the main Juice window. You should see the Cornerstone podcast feed under the 'Name' section. Click on it and the episodes should load underneath.


To download and play any of the episodes just select the box to the left of the title, then click on the 'Download selected feed' button (it is the sixth button from the left under the highlighted 'Subscriptions' menu bar in the picture below.


Once you click the download button you should see the episode file loading. In this case, the file is at 14.8% and loading.


Once the downloaded episode file is complete the 'State' column will show “Downloaded'.


You can either click the green 'Play' button to the left of the title name or right click the file name and select 'Play episode in mediaplayer'. Your mediaplayer should open and play the file. If you're using iTunes the file will be stored in you 'Music' library section as the picture below displays (the file will not be in the 'Podcast' section).
