Here is a sample report:

“No Data” indicates that class did not meet on that day.

Here are the meanings of the letter codes in the report:

As you can see, both “Early Exit” and “Late Arrival” equal ¼ absence.

The sample on the left shows:

5/10/12 = A =1.005/15/12 = T = 0.255/22/12 = E = 0.25Total Absences = 1.50

NOTE: If you are in a blended course, you will be marked absent if you do not complete all the required work for a particular online class.

Excused absences for late registration:

Excused absences are applied if you registered after the course started. However, you must attend at the next possible class in order to avoid other absences.

Consider this scenario:

Class starts on Monday, 8/27/12. Ana registers for a MW course on Tuesday, 8/28/12. Her attendance record will show X for Monday. If she does not attend Wednesday’s class, her record will show A for that day, and she will have used up one of her allowed absences for the semester.

NOTE: Be sure to check the Ground Rules for the number of allowed absences in your course. Other than late registration, there are no excused absences. See Ground Rule #2.
