HOW DOES RSS WORK?

RSS works by having the website author maintain a list of notifications on their website in a standard way. This list of notifications is called an "RSS Feed".

People who are interested in finding out the latest headlines or changes can check this list.

(RSS feeds are also sometimes called "RSS Channels" and "RSS Readers".)

THE RSS FILE:-

RSS files are essentially XML formatted plain text. The RSS file itself is relatively easy to read

Rss file is made up of a list of items presented in order from newest to oldest.

Each item usually consists of a simple title describing the item along with a more complete description and a link to a web page with the actual information being described.

RSS feeds provide any user of the Web with a way of easily storing and finding their favorite websites and blogs, making bookmarking much easier and totally web-based. By using an RSS reader, everything you store is web-based and can be opened from any computer.

STEPS TO USE RSS FEEDS Open a free account with any one of a

number of RSS feed burners or readers, such as Google Reader, iGoogle, Pageflakes, Netvibes and more. These tools, once you've created them, will store your favorite websites and blogs and constantly update them for you. They also help you to organize yours feeds by tags, titles or categories.
