I discovered that having lots of “fans, likes and followers” does not necessarily equate to more revenue. I learned that there are a lot of online marketing strategies that do not work. The biggest issue is there are too many strategies, and doing the wrong activities at the wrong stage of business meant wasting lots of money, time, and energy.

Once I figured out an authentic and winning formula that worked--what I call an “Elegant Marketing System” because of its simplicity--it changed the entire course of my business. I discovered a way to generate a steady stream of leads that predictably converted into clients.

In less than two years, I successfully launched three online programs and generated an additional half a million dollars annual revenue.

Because I want to help more purpose-driven leaders to be wildly profitable so they can make an even bigger difference in the world, I now teach my marketing system in my Signature Series: Create, Market, Sell and have helped dozens of clients successfully launch premium online programs.

I’ve put together this 10-Point Marketing Checklist to help you identify the weakest links in your marketing strategy. If you pay close attention and answer honestly, it will take the guesswork out of where you should be focusing your marketing efforts.

I. FIRST, DEFINE WHO YOU WANT TO BE, WHAT YOU REALLY WANT, AND WHY YOU REALLY WANT IT.

Others will be drawn to you and your work, and they buy YOU first.

STEP #1 IDENTIFY WHAT HAS YOU SAY “I’LL HAVE WHAT I’M HAVING!”

EXERCISE:

Ask yourself…

What creates an inspired life for you? You must define that for yourself.

“What do I need to say YES to in my life for it to be the kind of life that has me say, ‘I’ll have what I’m having’? What do you want to create? What makes me come alive?

STEP #2 DEFINE YOUR LEVEL 10

You are talented. And what we’ve seen with talented entrepreneurs is you’re making the mistake of spending your time on the 7’s, 8’s, 9’s even the 9.9’s because you can. You’re competent and you can. But what it’s stealing from your life is the 10’s.

And sometimes you may say, “But, I don’t have the 10 yet.” Make room for it by saying NO to anything that is less.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10, say yes only to the 10’s.

STEP #3 IF THIS WERE THE LAST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO CREATE?

1. What are you messing around spending time on that is not your fullest heart’s delight?

2. Give yourself permission to go for what you really want.

3. Clarify it.

4. Choose 1 thing for the next 90 days.

5. To anchor your ideas, find a mentor or coach who has done it and can guide you in the specifics of how to create what you want to create. There is a business model behind everything. Find someone who can help you on the business side, so you can focus on doing your genius.

STEP #4 SCHEDULING

III. THIRD, CREATE A SIGNATURE MARKETING PIECE THAT HELPS DO THE HEAVY LIFTING FOR YOU.

STEP #1: WHAT IS MY SIGNATURE MARKETING PIECE?

I recommend a webinar that distinguishes you from your competition and makes it clear how you help serve people. It also drives to strategy sessions or to the sale of your signature program.

STEP #2: HOW TO CREATE A YEAR’S WORTH OF CONTENT IN ONE SETTING

Option 1: Sit down and write down 52 topics that dives into the content of your webinar in greater detail and create your pieces of content with a call to action that feeds to your webinar. I.e. “Like this article? Go to 6figureincomestream.com for a video that goes into greater depth on this subject to help you ___________.”

Option 2: Have your core webinar transcribed, and have an article writer turn it into multiple pieces you can repurpose online and drive people to your core webinar. (5 mins of content = 800 – 1,000 word article)

STEP #3: WHAT WAYS WILL I COMMUNICATE THOSE TOPICS TO TIE INTO MY SIGNATURE MARKETING PIECE IN THE CALL-TO-ACTION?

ANATOMY OF A FACEBOOK POST THAT CREATES CLIENTS:

When I first started out, I created clients who paid me thousands of dollars to work with me by posting effective stories and posts on my private Facebook page.

Below is the anatomy of how to create one of those kinds of posts.

• STORY!!!! Tell a story. Open with a line that really hooks someone to read more. • Plant seeds of your work throughout.• Turn the question around or connect it and make it relevant to their lives. I.e. “What about

you?”• Invitation to engage (private messaging for a session with you or to watch your evergreen

webinar).

Sample Post 1:

"It is amazing what you can read about a person within a few minutes of sitting next to him on a plane.

We hadn't even reached a flying altitude of 30,000 feet and it was clear the gentleman sitting next to me was successful...someone I would describe as a person of influence.

From the way he was talking I could tell he was a networker--a network marketer, that is. I asked him directly, revealing my obvious familiarity and my instant interpretation of his 'coded' languaging. We had a good laugh over that as if we just exchanged a secret handshake and could dive right in and speak openly.

It was clear he was dynamic, energetic and driven. I was not surprised to hear of his success as a top performer at his previous company and his frequent speaking in front of large audiences. He was telling me about his transition to a new company and his hope that it would surpass his last experience.

It wasn't too much later I asked him a question that I could tell stopped him dead in his tracks.

I said, "Let me ask you something. When you are on that stage, what is your message? I mean, what is the message that you feel you are uniquely created to deliver?"

He was a bit struck and stammered, "I don't know. Maybe I'm shallow. I just want to motivate people and show them they can do it, too."

I replied, "Tell me your story. I will hear it in your story."

And for the remainder of the flight he shared his story with me.

That is one of my all time favorite things to do. To pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea or coffee and experience the essence of an individual and hear the message and story that desires to be uncovered to take their business and impact to the next level.

It was clear as day to me. His story had clues all along of a theme. A powerful theme.

I turned to him and said, "This is what I hear.... And this is how your impact on stage, your recruiting and your team could be taken to the next level...."

He turned to me jaw dropped and said, "Holy ****. Do you do that with everyone??? You just condensed my story just like that and that is exactly it! That is what I'm here to share."

Since then, he has such a deeper sense of meaning about what he does and his results and the connection and impact others feel from his leadership show it.

What about you?

It is one thing to be an influencer--to have a platform. It is another to be operating fully in it.

So many leaders I see are leaving out important parts of themselves and their story. Their message lacks the fire and passion of who they really are. Frequently, they're caught up in portraying an image, so they don't allow themselves to be seen... really seen.

As a result, their message begins to sound just like everyone else. They don't stand out in the marketplace. And tragically, their fullest legacy work is procrastinated to the future. "Someday."

No.

Whatever realm of influence you have, it can be drastically increased and expanded once you tap into that unique message within you. The message you are Divinely created to deliver. A message that inspires which means to 'breath life into' others and sets captives free because that message is carried in your very cells."

This is what I do with clients and this is just part of what I'll be doing at the upcoming Branding Experience.
