Make 6 for each hat -- 2 in each of the 3

colors used. Leave about a 6-7" tail on each

pompom. Pull all the tails from the 6

pompoms through the hole in top of hat and

secure tightly on the inside of hat.

Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.

One set of five size U.S. 8 (5mm) double-pointed needles (dpns)

GAUGE In Stockinette stitch, 18 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm

STITCHES USED Garter Stitch: Knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd when working in the rnd; knit all rows when working back and forth.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUE I-cord: Using a double-pointed needle, cast on the number of sts indicated in instructions; DO NOT TURN. *Slide sts to the opposite end of the needle and knit them, pulling yarn firmly behind sts; rep from * to desired length. After a few rows, you will see that you are knitting a tiny tube; give it a gentle tug now and then to adjust any loose sts. Bind off all sts, leaving a 2"/5cm tail for finishing.

Create a hat using the colors of the sunset with

this simple design. Featuring a ribbed border

and stockinette stitch body, this cozy hat is just

the thing you’ll need to keep warm all winter

long.

Hat measures 21” in circumference. Materials:

RED HEART® Boutique™ Unforgettable™: 1 ball of 3955 Winery.

Circular Knitting Needles: 4.5mm [US 7] and 5 mm [US 8] - 16”

Double Pointed Knitting Needles: 5 mm [US 8].

Marker, Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 18 sts = 4”; 24 rows = 4” in with larger needle in Stockinette Stitch. Note : Change to double pointed needles when there are too few stitches for the circular needle.

HAT Ribbing With smaller needles, cast on 100 sts. Join, being careful that sts are not twisted, and begin working in the round. Place marker for beginning of round. Round 1 (Right side): (K2, P2) around. Repeat Round 1 for pattern until piece measures approximately 2” from cast on edge. just what you need. Cute knitted hats like this

fun to make! Embellish it with a flower or pom

for extra flair!

Materials:

Red Heart® With Love™: 1 skein 1252 Mango

Knitting Needles: 6mm [US 10] Yarn needle

Instructions: Hat measures 18 inches around (slightly stretched). GAUGE: 16 sts = 4”; 20 rows = 4” in ribbing, slightly stretched. Use any size needles to

obtain the gauge.

Hat

Cast on 70 sts. Row 1 (Wrong Side): *Purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, purl 2. Row 2 (Right Side): *Knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until work measures 10 inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row.

Shape Crown Row 1 (Right Side): *Knit 2, purl 2 together (decrease 1 stitch); repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2 – 53 stitches. Row 2 (Wrong Side): *Purl 2, knit 1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, purl 2. Row 3: *Knit 2, purl 1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2. Row 4: Repeat Row 2. One Seam Guinea Pig Hat is an easy knit hat for

beginners that can be made with straight knitting

needles. With just one seam and not many ends

to weave in, you can knit your little cavy his or

her own hat in a matter of minutes with this

guinea pig craft pattern. This tiny hat is perfect

for knitted bears or dolls too.

Materials:

U.S. size 7 knitting needles Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Cherry

Red White scrap yarn, worsted weight

Instructions: Co 32 R 1-3: *K1, P1; rep from * to end of row. R 4: K R 5: P R 6: K R 7: P R 8: K R 9: P R 10: K2tog, *K; rep from * to end of row R 11: P2tog, *P; rep from * to end of row R 12: K2tog, *K; rep from * to end of row R 13: P2tog 2x’s, *P; rep from * to end of row R 14: K2tog 2x’s, *K; rep from * to end of row R 15: P2tog 3x’s, *P; rep from * to end of row R 16: K2tog 4x’s, *K; rep from * to end of row R 17: P2tog 5x’s, *P; rep from * to end of row R 18: K2tog 3x’s, *K; rep from * to end of row R 19: P2tog 2x’s, *P; rep from * to end of row R 20: K2tog 2x’s, *K; rep from * to end of row

Finishing: Cut yarn and pull tightly through remaining stitches. Seam up the side of the hat and weave in ends. If desired, attach a small white pom pon to the top of the hat.
