Step 9: Choose any options, here we will use VHD size, which is also supported to HyperV.

Step 10: Select Storage with option Dynamically allocated and click on next.

Step 11: Minimum Requirement of Disk Space is 32 GB for Server core mode; For GUI mode need to add additional 4 GB RAM. Here we will take 36 GB Disk Space for training purpose and click on create button.

However, Microsoft recommend 40 GB or more Disk space for installation.

Step 12: Right click on named “ADSRV” and click on setting to change CPU configuration.

Step 13: Click on System->processor, and change value up to 2 for CPU core.

Minimum Requirement is 1.4 GHz with 1 core processor, However Microsoft recommends 2 GHz or faster.

Step 14: Click on Start button for installing windows 2012 R2

Step 15: Choose ISO file location and mount from there.

Step 16: Select drive path to boot.

Step 17: Restart again, and press enter to boot from DVD. You will be prompted by below screen.

Step 18: Click on Install Now.

Step 19: Click on Standard addition with GUI option as per below snapshot. Click on next…

Step 21: Select custom for fresh installation.

Step 22: Go with options if you want custom partition or click on next if you want to go with default

installation.

Step 23: Now, be relax! It will take around 20 to 30 minutes depending Hardware Performance.

Once completed Server will be rebooted automatically and no longer boot from DVD ROM.

Step 24: After rebooting, you will be prompted for Administrative credential. Click on Finish Button

at bottom.

Step 25: Do “Ctrl+Alt+Delete” to get login screen.

Step 26: Enter password which you have set.

Step 27: Now installation has been completed.
