How to install Oracle 10g Express Edition in your personal computer??

You need the following files: 1- OracleXEUniv and 2- sqldeveloper:

1 – Run the OracleXEUniv Program and wait till it finish, it takes few minutes….

2- Click Next>

3 – Select I accept the terms in the license agreement then click Next>

4 – Click Next>

5- Select a password for your login and click <Next> NOTE: THE USER NAME WILL BE “SYSTEM’

6- Click on Install and let the computer install the program. It will take around 5 to 6 min.

7 – click on finish 8- Creating User in Oracle. Follow the following Steps:

8-1. Click the windows Start button and select All programs. Now open the Oracle 10g folder and click “Go to Database Homepage”. You will see the following

8-2. Now you will enter “SYSTEM” as the Username and Your Password that you have already chosen and click on Login. You will see the following.

9- click on Administration (Note: to use the system as a DB administrator)

10 – Click on Database Users

11- Click on Create to Create User

12 - Fill all the information required and click on Create .

13- Click in all option of user privileges.

Running the sqldeveloper: Start the sqldeveloper and enter the user name and password that you have created in Oracle Note : don’t change anything except (it is your computer and not the college server!!), just enter your connection name, user name and password as shown in the following example and click on connect
