1 Preamble

This Support Note describes how to install the software, CANoe and CANalyzer. For the installation of any Vector software administrator rights (Domain or Local) must be available.

2 Installation of CANoe/CANalyzer

In the following chapter the installation of Vector CANoe or CANalyzer is described for versions up to 10.0 SP7. 2.1 How to Install CANoe or CANalyzer (up to Version 10.0 SP7)

Please run the autorun.exe as an administrator (right click → Run as administrator)

Select: Install CANoe / CANalyzer

Please allow the installer to change the computer settings. In the first step you have to select between the 64-bit and 32-bit variant. Click on Next > after the selection.

The next step shows which software system components will be installed / updated. Click on Next >.

Note

> If you get an information message that some of the above mentioned software parts are already installed, you can just proceed with the installation. This is only for information.

Note

> It can be that you have to restart your computer after the installation of some prerequisites. The setup will resume automatically again after the computer restarted.

Now you can select between the demo version and the licensed product. To install the licensed product you have to type in your installation data (Company Name / Serial Number / License Key). You will find these information in the Delivery Note. After filling in the needed data, click on Next >.

Note

> If you are using a New Vector License which is handled by the Vector License Client and you are in need of an older Version than CANoe 11.0 or CANalzyer 11.0 than check first if your required version is supported by the New Vector Licenses. You will find this information in the following KnowledgeBase entry:

> In the New Vector License and usage of versions below CANoe 11.0 or CANalyzer 11.0 scenario you have to contact the Vector Support so they can give you new installation data. Please contact via support form.

The next step shows which software components will be installed. Click on Next >.

Now, the CANoe/CANalyzer installation wizard starts. Click on Next.

In the next window you will see which CANoe/CANalyzer version you are installing and which options (e.g. bus systems) are included. Click on Next >.

Note

> The shown picture may differ from your installation list. The list will show which options are included in your installation data.

In the following step you can change the target folder of the installation. If pleased with the selection click on Next >.

In the following step you can choose between a complete or a customized installation of CANoe. Select one option (we recommend Complete). If you select Custom, you can select which software will be installed. Click on Next > after the selection.

Now you can select which language CANoe/CANalyzer will have at the program start. After the selection click on Next >

In the following step you can change the name of the Windows Program Menu Folder. Click on Next >.

Finally, you will see a summary of the configuration you chose. If you want to change one of these options, please use the < Back button. If you are pleased with the selected settings click on Install and the installation will be executed:
