How to Increase Memory of Server 2003
System Partition
System partition of Windows is easy to run out of space since it will save different types of
files, including Windows updates, temporary files, files created on desktop, and programs
which are required to save in system partition. When this partition is in low disk space, to
increase the capacity is undoubtedly a good choice. Well then, how to increase memory
of Server 2003 system partition? Can we do it without any third party software?
When there is contiguous unallocated space on the right side of Server 2003 system
partition, users have chance to do the increase without third party software, but the
system partition should be formatted with NTFS. Please open Server 2003 built-in disk
management console (right click the icon “My Computer” on the desktop, choose
“Manage”, and select “Disk Management”) to see whether there is such an unallocated
space. If there is, take the following steps: click Start button, choose Run and enter
diskpark; then type a series of commands: list disk, select disk n (n is the number of disk
we want to operate), list partition, select partition n (n is the number of system partition),
extend size =n (n is the memory we want to add to system partition and it uses MB as the
unit). Every type ends with pressing on Enter key. After these operations, users can
increase memory of Server 2003 system partition successfully.
However, what if there is no such space or the system partition is formatted with FAT?
Under these situations, users need a piece of third party software, and here we suggest
using MiniTool Partition Wizard Server Edition. Next, let’s see how to enlarge system
partition via this program.

Partition in MiniTool Partition Wizard
Firstly, launch the partitioning tool to get its main interface where all disks and partitions
are shown:
Then, select the system partition and choose “Extend Partition” feature from the left action
panel to get the window below:
Here, we can choose an existing partition or unallocated space to take free memory that
will be increased to Server 2003 system partition, and then drag sliding button to decide
how much memory to take. Then, click “OK” to go back to the main interface:
Now we can see the system partition has been enlarged to 31.93GB from original
27.58GB, so please click “Apply” button on the top to apply the change. And after the
application is completed, to increase memory of Server 2003 system partition will be
done.
If users also want to enlarge system partition of Windows OS such as Windows XP,
Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008, try using MiniTool Partition
