GOAL
How to import an APEX page or application through SQLPLUS.
SOLUTION
Please perform the following:
1. From the source installation, export the application.
2. Find the security_group_id of the current workspace, where you are going to install the application using the following:
Go to "Home>SQL Workshop>SQL Commands".
Run the following query to capture the workspace ID:
select APEX_UTIL.FIND_SECURITY_GROUP_ID('TEST') from dual;
Assuming that "TEST" is the current workspace.
3. Copy the resultant group id
4. Open the export file (.sql) from step 1 in Wordpad, Notepad or another text editor.
5. Search for "p_security_group_id"
6. Paste the copied group id and save the file.
7. Login to SQLPlus with FLOWS_XXXXXX / APEX_XXXXX schema and run the SQL script.
Where XXXXXX represents the Apex version number (e.g FLOWS_020000 for Apex 2.0 or APEX_030200 for versions 3.2 and
higher).
Note:The client character set should support the special characters, otherwise these characters are lost after import. So set
NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8 in the command prompt before opening SQLPLUS.
This will create the page or application.
