Helping your child preparing for their tests shouldn't

be too difficult. You don't have to be a master expert

when you want to help out your child. You may not

realize it, being there for them and accompanying them

while studying is considered enough because they

know that you really care for them that you are willing

to spend some time with them. Of course, being there

and doing nothing won't help them at all; that's why

there are ways that you can do when you want to help

your kids studying better.

Review the subject curriculum and discuss it with your

kids. You can't just jump and tangle yourself with

problems; you need to know what you are dealing with

and the right solutions to deal with the issues. Every

school should have its own curriculum and discuss it

with your kids. Check whether they really get the

lessons and the covered topics. If they haven't, ask

which parts haven't been taught by their teachers.

Develop a solid and well planned schedule. If you can't

really help your child during their study time, you can

help them developing a well-managed schedule and

study plan. Discuss the schedule with them because

you aren't supposed to be controlling; you are

supposed to help them. Ask them what times they find

most comfortable to study and what part of chapter

they want to review.

Help them study by asking questions or reviewing the

subjects. Doing such simple things as helping them

review the subjects and ask general theories or

questions can really help.

Be sure that they are relaxed. Relaxed childern are

proven to absorb the lessons quicker and better

because they don't feel being pushed or pressed too

hard. Be sure that they have enough rest before they

start their study period. Consider studying with them

and providing them with lights snacks and beverages.

It doesn't mean to spoil them, but to encourage them to

study better. After all, they are not in prison, so it is

okay to relax and have fun studying moment.

Learn the tips and tricks in doing the problems. For

example, when you are dealing with multiple choices

problem, teach them that there are several problems

that may look the same, so they need to know the ways

to differentiate those problems.

Understand the topic. It is okay if you want to learn

about the topics so you can lend a hand. You don't

need to master the topic, but understanding it will help

you guide your kids better.

Practice together. You can help them browsing around

math exercises sites and find the related exercise

models. There are the essays, multiple choices, and

other models to find.

If you make mistakes, don't make a big fuss about it.

You have been out of school for a long time; that's the

least that you can do. What's important is that you are

willing to provide time to help your child learn one of

the most difficult subjects at school; they will really

appreciate your efforts for it.
