Preference will be given in the following way: 1st Preference: Students who scored basic or below basic on their 2012 PSSA (students in grades 4–8) or 2013 Winter DIBELS (students in grades K–2) AND qualify for free or reduced price meals. 2nd Preference: Students who scored basic or below basic on their 2012 PSSA (students in grades 4–8) or 2013 Winter DIBELS (students in grades K–2) OR qualify for free or reduced price meals. 3rd Preference: Students who scored proficient or advanced on their 2012 PSSA (students in grades 4–8) or 2013 Winter DIBELS (students in grades K–2) AND do not qualify for free or reduced price meals. special contemporary artists in our own community.

Pittsburgh’s History MakersFacilitated by Senator John Heinz History Center

You live in one of America’s most important cities. Over

the last 300 years, there have been war battles in Pittsburgh,

the Big Mac was invented here, and so were the Jeep and

lifesaving machines. History makers in Pittsburgh have made

life different for so many people. As one of Pittsburgh’s History

Makers, you’ll spend the summer stepping back through time

at the Heinz History Center, learning how Pittsburgh was

involved in the Underground Railroad, the Civil War, inventing,

and sports. You’ll participate in exciting hands-on activities

and crafts, talk with visitors from the past, and discover how

people have lived in this region for hundreds of years. Journey

throughout the past and learn how you can help shape the

region’s future as a History Maker!
