Concept is the core communication you’ve got- it can be manifested in a story,a symbol, a name, in a visual, as an analogy, etc.Its role is to convey the big idea in a clear short striking way. Sometimes it can be used as a “pick up line”, a positioning line, or a promise line.

From here you will derive the proposition, advantages, elevator pitch etc.

It should stand by itself! If your audience needs the demo, the business plan etc. to grasp the idea- the concept is weak.

a concept is an abstract idea or a mental symbol…

convey your big idea as a clear tangible concept.

WHAT is more important than HOW (on roadshows).

Strike 2: Concept

Strike 3: Pick Up Line & Elevator Pitch

Intrigue in three core sentences in 30 sec.

Then hook’em in a short speech (250 words).

You never get a second chance to make the first impression.

The goal is to start a conversation- you’ll fill in the details later.

Strike 4: Presentation

Create a clear, focused & streaming presentation

Presentations

1. What we want: from Main goal 2 main message- define in advance what outcomes you want to gain & what main message will help you achieve it. Make sure you got this message conveyed clearly in the presentation.

2. Who for: Target audience- know who you are addressing- their business agenda is only one aspect to learn in advance. Their business conventions, beliefs & attitudes- may they be right or wrong, are issues to be handled with a lot of attention. Their life philosophies are another factor to be taken into consideration.

3. How to get it…

Page 12: How to empower your enterprise on RoadShows, in 10 strikes. Entrepreneurs Roadmap 2 Roadshow.

Presentations

3. How to get it:

• Concept- makes it tangible, clear and simple to understand as well as easier to get attached to (see strike 2).

• Guideline- list in advance the main issues to be addressed. Fill out each topic with three bulletins tops in Telegraphic language.

• Flow- mix & match the order & content so it all flows smoothly.

• Screening redundancy- once you’ve set the presentation go over it again: whatever doesn’t support or is not relevant to the goal, key message or concept you aim for- should be screened out! (yes, even if you find it interesting…if it does not support the key messages-drop it).

Presentations

3. How to get it:

• Telegraphic- don’t use long sentences on the slides. No need to write every word you plan to say. (You can use power point presenter view for that).

• Design- sometimes it helps if you have visuals which convey the message. Don’t overdo it. Try to stay within one visual content world, and one graphic design.

• Presenter- you are the star, not the screen. Keep eye contact with

viewers. Smile. Move freely. Picture them naked.
