Make it perfect, so it can be made
7
• Transform an idea in a real product.
• Design and/or engineer consumer products from steel, plastic wood etc.
Nout van Heumen
8
• Develop beautiful, functional things that are completely ready for production
• Tailored projects for diverse design challenges – Each project has different needs, for completely different industries
How do I create positive experiences with my clients?
9
• Try to understand your customer’s wishes.
• Try to understand the manufacturer’s methods and limits.
• Think over the development process with testing-models etc.
• Put all the parts in your CAD-model to avoid surprises.
• Start over if your method of drawing isn’t sufficient.
• Don’t stop until your model is perfect, and is ready to be manufactured.
Nout’s Methodology
10
• Construct your parts in an absolute accuracy – (config-pro: enable_absolute_accuracy)
• Construct your parts without geom-checks – (config-pro: show_geom_checks_on_creation)
• Check your step-file for mistakes before you send it to a manufacturer
• This offers you: – Good step-files. No mistakes, and ready for anyone to use.
– Time savings. Files are ready to use and don’t need to be recreated.
– No surprises. The part will be exactly as you constructed it.
– Time saving. Because everything is clear: offers are made faster, production can start earlier, etc.
– Work. Manufacturers hate to repair bad files (therefore, they’ll be inclined to ask you for help more frequently).

Project Examples
12
• Large, stable assemblies – Interactively explore assemblies
• Accuracy!
• Parametric Modeling – Concepts need to be created quickly - often from existing parametric models
• Advanced surfacing capabilities
Why Creo 2.0?
13
• With PTC Creo 2.0, its possible to make amazing, ready-for-production products that can easily be modified at any stage of the process
– Amazing modeling capabilities with high end surface quality – Possibility to make late stage design changes
• You need to be able to modify existing design but retain design intelligence • No need to recreate the model
– Good, accurate files ready for production
