• Tell GSA you are from a Target School:
1. Declare Top-Up in your
Qualifications section 2. Declare WP@GSA activity in
your Education section 3. Write about WP@GSA
activity in your Personal Statement
4. Ask your teacher to state you are from a GSA target school in their reference for you.
Personal Statement? Really important! 1. 4000 characters in
length 2. Explain why you want to
study a creative subject at University level
3. Explain why you are suited to the course(s)
4. Talk about your extra-curricular activities.
I’ve submitted my UCAS form, now what? 1. GSA will be email telling
you to upload an e-folio 2. Use your UCAS Track
account to see if you have been made offers from any of your courses.
If you don’t receive an e-mail from GSA within 7 days of submitting your UCAS application… e-mail [email protected]

How do I make one? Use Microsoft Powerpoint! Show a range work – sketches, development and final pieces. Show you can experiment! See examples on GSA website

What is it? Take your full portfolio + sketchbooks 2 staff look at it and ask you to talk about it Will ask you questions about your interests

How long does it last? Usually 20 minutes or so Treat it like a conversation, not an exam! They are interested in finding out about you as a person.
Any top tips? • Turn your mobile off • Show up early • Add 0141 353 4500 to
your phone incase of a disaster on your way to interview

Step 1 - UCAS Application Deadline – 15th January
• Early application encouraged! • The UCAS application to Architecture is crucial. • Can be rejected on the basis of this alone
Scored against 5 criteria: 1. Academic Status (Have the Grades required) 2. Motivation (Passionate about subject) 3. Programme Awareness (Know about the course) 4. Experience (Work experience in arch office) 5. References (Good references)
You must meet ALL of the above criteria
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: ABBB (one sitting) AABB (two sittings)
To include: ENGLISH, MATHS OR PHYSICS & ART

Step 2 – Statement of Intent
• Your motivation towards studying Architecture, particularly with regards to the studying at the Mackintosh School.
• Your knowledge and interest in Architecture • Any relevant experience you have gained
If selected for interview, you will be asked to submit a typed 500 – 700 word statement PRIOR to your interview explaining:
Your statement will form the basis of conversation at your interview so make sure you don’t tell any white lies!
Step 2 –Portfolio/Interview
PORTFOLIO:
10 pieces of current work including a range of the following:
• Sketchbooks • Observational Drawings • 3D Work • Technical Drawings • Photographic Studies • Printmaking • Textiles
INTERVIEWS:
• Fridays between January and March • Day long event beginning at 10am • Interview lasts 20 minutes
You must be able to discuss your work and put it in context
