How to Create a Movie Using Windows Live Movie Maker

1. Upload your video to your computer.

2. Open Windows Live Movie Maker.

3. Click in the white area to upload your video to Windows Live Movie Maker.

4. In the dialogue box that pops up, browse for your video, click on it, and click .

5. Save your video as a project file by clicking in the top left corner of the screen. Then select “Save Project As”

from the drop-down menu. Remember to save your video frequently while working on it.

6. Name your movie project and click .

7. Preview your video by clicking the button.

8. Add a title to your movie by clicking at the top of the screen.

9. The words “My Movie” will automatically come up. Erase them and type a new title for your movie.

10. If there is any part of your movie that you want to cut out, drag the bar to beginning of that part of the movie.

11. Then click on Edit in the toolbar.

12. Click on .

13. Drag the bar to the end of the part you don’t want to include in your movie and click on again.

14. Click on that part of the movie and hit the delete key on your keyboard (or right click the clip and select “remove”).

Important: Preview that part of the movie before you delete it to make sure you are deleting the right clip.

15. At the beginning of the movie, you should introduce the veteran. Add a caption with the veteran’s name to that part of

the movie. To do this, move your bar to the first time the veteran appears in your movie and click Home on the

toolbar.

16. Click on .

17. Enter the veteran’s first and last name. Be sure to capitalize the first letter of the first and last name.

18. Add a credits slide at the end. Click on Home in the toolbar and click on .

19. Add your first and last name to the credits. You might also want to give a special thanks to the veteran in the credits.

20. Preview your movie one more time before you save it. Then click Home in the toolbar and .

21. From the pull-down menu choose “Recommended for This Project.”

22. Name your movie your first and last name-WWII Interview and click .

23. To submit your video, you may either turn it in on Edmodo or bring it to class on a disk.
