LAY THE FOUNDATION1. LIST all of your professional accomplishments from graduating

college, to your experience as a (insert previous career), real estate accolades, production, designations.

2. LIST all of your community accomplishments i.e. charity groups, things outside of real estate etc.

3. LIST all professional accomplishments outside of real estate i.e. Public Speaker, published Author, Freelance Writer for Innman News, contributor to Fox News etc. (hint hint if you don’t have any, now is a better time than ever to start).

4. THINK about all of the reasons someone would want to work with you. Think about it as a FAB formula (Features Advantages Benefits).

5. FINALLY think about what you do on your free time? Foodie? Fitness? Spending time with kids? Collect coins? Whatever it is, people wanna know about what makes YOU –YOU!

1. SHORT BIO This bio is concise, to the point, and built for platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

2. LONG BIO This bio is used for platforms like LinkedIn, and your personal website. You might even include this in your personal brochure.

ESTABLISH YOUR VOICE1. HUMOR is perhaps the biggest icebreaker. Using humor is an

excellent way to be transparent and break the ice. Even Hillary Clinton used humor in her Twitter bio by saying she was a “pantsuit aficionado”.

2. SERIOUS sets the tone for a platform like LinkedIn, but also means you’re all about business. Cater to a professional demographic i.e. Investors, Luxury etc. this may be the voice you want to use.

3. BE YOU You have seconds to make a first impression, BUT be yourself. Above all else DO NOT LIE. Be honest and transparent in your bio.

1. PUT PEN TO PAPER Nothing writes itself. Start with a short bio, run it by friends and famiily and of course – USE ME!

2. SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING Whatever you do – do not have an empty bio.

3. ATTACH A DEADLINE Attach a deadline to your bio, so it must get done by then.

4. GET HELP If all else fails, hire someone to write your bio. We can write your bio in house for $150, this includes long and short bio. There are also other copywriters out there who can write your bio.

5. 99% OF AGENTS DO NOT have a bio, even the experienced ones. Now is your chance to get ahead of the competition.

6. YOUR BIO forces you to be better. As you create your bio and look at others, you’ll notice things you haven’t accomplished yet. Make a list of things you want to accomplish this year so you can improve your bio each year.
