Coordination of implementation of INSPIRE directive• Ministry of Defence is responsible institution:
• for organising and coordinating the implementation of state policy in the area of geodetic, mapping and geospatial information;
• for coordinating the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive;• for several INSPIRE data themes - coordinate reference systems, orthoimagery,
elevation and others; these data shall be prepared by the Latvian Geospatial Information Agency - leading authority for geodetic, mapping un geospatial information implementing policy
• representative of the Ministry of Defence is Latvia’s representative on the MIG-P• representative of the Latvian Geospatial Information Agency is Member State

responsible a relevant ministry• Practically for creating and
updating of the INSPIRE geospatial data sets and their metadata are responsible their subordinate institutions
