Using Lantronix UDS1100 and

You will need a Lantronix UDS1100
Order you UDS1100
• Check out eBay (used about $50.00)
• Check out Amazon too.
• New device will cost about $100.00
Setup like the following to have
successful packet setup…I’m using a UDS1100, Kantronics KPC-3+ TNC, Kenwood TK-7180 Radio and iPad.
Your setup may vary…
Wire cable like DB-25 to DB-25…
Pin 7 to 7. Pin 2 to 3, Pin3 to 2
(serial x-over cable)
UDS1100 DB-25
Kantronics TNC DB-25
Use Lantronix Device Installer…
Windows only software.
For Mac or Linux…
• You will have to scan the network for the
(UDS1100) device and IP.
• Contact me if you need help.

Type device IP into web browser.
Web setup can only be done in IE.
Username is “root”…no password

• Basically setup device like above. (Apply
Settings)
• Set your IP if desired for static IP, gateway and
subnet mask. (recommended)

• Once setup you can use with iPad, iPhone,
Android device, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.
• Lantronix UDS1100 cost about $100.00 (new)
• Check eBay, or Amazon. Used about $50.00
• We are only using the RS-232 portion of this
device. 3 wires. (TX, RX, and GND)

• I use port 2167 in telnet to connect to my TNC
now at home. From my iPad or any other
computer device locally.
• Port 9999 in telnet is text setup. Be careful,
you can brick (kill) your device with the
wrong settings.

Radio to TNC cable (Gray)

Get Console App…
Get Console iPad app…It works.
Connecting to Winlink station…
