1. STEP OUT
> Want to build friendships while earning extra income? > Now you can take that extra room in your home and become a host of an international student. > Get empowered with the information you need by looking at our FAQ Page or Blog!

> The application is a profile where you will give us information about yourself, your home, type of service you can provide and the type of student you are interested in hosting. > You will receive an email upon the submittal of your Homestay Host Family application.
2. APPLY

Within 24 business hours, you will receive a call from a USH Staff member in regard to your Homestay application and to inform you how soon you can expect to be visited by a USH Field Representative.
3. GET CONNECTED

> The Home Visit is a meeting with our Field Representative for about 10-15 minutes. > During this meeting, he will be able to answer any additional questions you may have regarding our program. > He will see the location of the home as well as the condition of the room. > You will be provided with two copies of our Host Agreement. > You can sign it and mail it to our office once you decide you're ready to host with us. > A USH Housing Coordinator will follow up with you after the visit.
4. HOME VISIT

> As soon as we have a student whose profile fits yours, we will get in contact with you to see if you're interested and available to host them. > We will read you the student's profile. > If this is the first student you confirm, we will need both the Host Agreement and to run a criminal background check on you and any other adult in the home.
5. MATCHING

> Once these clear, we can confirm the student's placement. > You will receive a Welcome Packet with your student's information prior to his move in. > USH staff will also call you prior to your student's move-in to remind you of their arrival and provide you with the flight information.

You can expect to receive your prepaid check for the month after 5-7 business days of your student's move-in date.
6. PAYMENT

> USH Staff members are available Monday through Friday from 9-5PM (PST) for prompt and friendly service. > You may contact us via email at any time at [email protected] with questions or concerns. > In case of an emergency during non-business hours, you may call our Emergency Pager 910.874.8720 for prompt assistance.> You will receive emails (or letters in the mail) regarding your student and phone calls following up with your student's placement throughout his stay.
