Practice the art of asking great questions through personal growth books, role play, and exercises that promote questions vs. always feeling like you have to have the answers. The best leaders don’t have all the answers, they actually have the most questions. Be a student of the game. Study different coaching and leadership models. Speed of the leader = speed of the team. Benchmark other leaders you respect and note what makes them great. Run the Play - follow the models and systems that we know work. Master the fundamentals! Trust the process. It is a model, not a menu so don’t leave out any of the ingredients to the secret recipe. Don’t ask your agents to do anything you haven’t done or wouldn’t be willing to do yourself. Have a coach and practice what you preach. Keep an open mind to other methods and always seek new ways to provide solutions. Read and study other successful leaders in sports and business and notice what makes them legendary. Engage in trainings, events, and seminars and be visible to your agents so you are leading by example. People are not numbers, but numbers do represent our people. Be a student and extract the story that the numbers are telling you. Become a professional storyteller. Be genuine and your authentic self. It is okay to be transparent and vulnerable. Relatability is a key factor in leadership so be unapologetically passionate for wanting to see others succeed. Come prepared to individual and group meetings with agents which helps your presentation and credibility as a person of value. Have FUN and never lose sight of your significance for leading others.
