How to be Awesomeone Hero Habit at a time
Imagine if every day you…
took
the
stairs
Thanked someone…
Flossed your teeth…
Got 7 hours sleep…
Did your hardest
work before 10:30am…
Only checked email every hour…
Stretched between phone calls…
Drank 8
glasses of
water …
and read for 30 minutes before bed.
Would that be a
MIRACLE?
No, it’s not a miracle…
it’s Hero Habits
A Hero Habit makes your day better, your life richer, and (best of all), leads to more
good habits.
Hero Habits make YOU a
HERO
Here’s why Hero Habits
matter
You use habits to get through the day*, so you might as well create good ones.
40% of what you do every day is done out of habit (Duke University)
*
Habits free up brain power so you can be more creative, intuitive (even happier.)
You build a Hero Habit with these four questions:
(1) what’s the problem?“I leave things to the last minute. And it gets me in trouble.” (write that down)
(2) Why do I do it?“I do it because I think somehow I’ll avoid the hard work.”
(3) What will I do instead?1) break big projects into 20 minutes chunks, 2) block time on my calendar, 3) use my 20 minute blocks to only work on
one project (like I am right now)
(4) What’s the reward?“I’ll feel relief to get the work done. Plus, I get to cross it off my list.”
Great! Now follow your plan.
Sounds like advice your Mom would give?
Well it works(so get over yourself)!
WARNING: Don’t overthink this.Sure we have global warming, an oil crisis, and movie stars splitting up.
Meanwhile, you’ve got a life to live.
So, pull up your shorts, create Hero Habits and make life awesome.
Wait!Before we go on.
