BOGE S series screw compressors draw inatmospheric air through a cabinet pre-filtermat, into a paper intake filter h beforeentering the multifunction intake regulatorj. The cleaned air then passes into theairend which is driven by an electric motor.
Continuously cooled BOGE compressor oilis then injected into the screws in accurate-ly metered quantities k.Oil fulfils three functions:
CoolingSealingLubrication
It absorbs and removes the heat generatedby the compression process. At the sametime, it seals the compression gap betweenthe contra rotating screws and the airend,as well as lubricating the rotor bearings.
The compressed air oil mixture leaves theairend l via a flanged connection directlyonto the horizontal separation vessel xwithout any pressure loss. Here, the oil isinitially separated by mechanical impinge-ment and finally by precipitation caused bythe rapid reduction in flow velocity, to anefficiency of more than 99%. There is zeropressure reduction.
By the time the compressed air passesthrough the final spin-on oil separatorcartridge c there is a minimal residual oil content of only 1-3 mg/m3 in everyoperating mode.
After final separation, the air passesthrough the minimum pressure valve vand into the cooler pack n where it iscooled to approx. 8°C above inlet tempe-rature. A large percentage of the conden-sate contained in the compressed air isseparated here. The compressed air thenfinally reaches the network via a normalgate valve.
Oil separated in the horizontal separationvessel rapidly de-aerates and thereforereduces foam quickly. Downstream in thegenerously sized oil cooler b there is opti-mum cooling for re-injection to the airend.The final spin-on oil filter cartridge cleansthe oil so that it can be re-circulated. Athermostatic oil valve , ensures that allBOGE screw compressors work at an opti-mum temperature in all operating phases.
