How I made my magazine contents

I started off with a blank page.

Firstly I decided to add a contents heading in the same font and colour as the front cover masthead.

I then added a new layer and used a brushes tool to create this swirl effect which is also similar to the one used on the front cover.

I then used bevel and emboss to make the contents header stand out more against the effect.

I then decided to add a grey rectangle and some text for an editors welcome box.

I then added a photo of the editor into the box.

Here I added some text for my editors welcome. The grey box is too small so I need to make it bigger.

Ive now made the grey box bigger

I then added a picture of one of the articles featured.

I then added text in white to say what page the feature is on.

I then started to add my contents information.

I then added another brushes swirl and used gradient overlay to make it grey and black.

I then moved this effect behind the grey editors box

I then added a ‘what’s on this issue’ text

I then added a colour onto the background to finish off the contents.
