• Some of the services offered include therapy, sessions to address emotional or behavioral issues and extension of aid to parents or guardians.

“How Did I Get Here?”

• A vast array of events can lead up to a child’s placement in foster or protective care, including the death of a parent or guardian or trouble with law enforcement.

• Abuse, be it physical or sexual, will land a child in protective care if no other placement options are available.

• Neglect of basic needs, as determined by investigators, is another reason for placing youth in protective care.
