Alternative representation…

• Innocent• Enjoyment of

childhood• Non sexual• “youth – as – fun”

Many views of teenagers at the moment are mostly negative mainly because of the representations that are given to them. These are from such

shows as skins and others promoting teenagers as drunks or even as criminals. I have chose to give my magazine a alternative representation of

teenagers than these. My magazine promotes the fun factors of staying young and innocent, in which much of my magazine connotes.

I based my magazine on a replacement of the popular magazine ‘Smash Hits’, which also promoted the new alternative representation of teenagers in non-sexual ways

and shows of youth, which other magazines do too by showing pop stars which agree with this way that teenagers should be seen.

My magazine connotes –

•Youth

•Fun loving

•Friendliness'

•Innocent

•Non sexual

•Image of childhood but also growing up
