The target audience for this magazine is late teenagers to adults in their late twenty’s. You can work out the target audience from the front cover of this magazine due to their being a big band on the front which attracts a lot of attention. Not many young teenagers are into them so the magazine doesn’t cater to get their attention.

There are a lot of cover lines which will attract attention because of the layout. The layout is structured and organised which makes it easier to follow.

The same colours have been used on the front cover for the masthead, cover lines and the main article. This is good because it doesn’t make it look messy.

From the contents page you can see that it isn’t just a one of magazine because the title to the contents is “inside this week”. Also the contents page is effective because yes it does give you a list of what is in the magazine but it makes some of the pages stand out, for instance page 17 stands out and so does page 22.

I believe these pages have been made the most ‘eye catching’ because they are the most important subjects in the magazines. In the right bottom corner they are advertising there magazine by saying that you can subscribe to their magazine as a perfect Christmas present for someone.

I believe that this will help their magazine and because the contents page is the page people are going to look at the most. Therefore this was a good idea due to them seeing it every time they try to find a page they will look at it and it will then start sinking in and they may consider doing it because they have seen it so much.

There is a lot of guttering on this contents page but it’s effective because of how its organised and laid out.

Double page spread

The double page spread is great because of the font and colour of the page they have used. You straight away know what and who the article is going to be about because of the massive title and the picture that takes up a page.

Looking at the main body copy you can see the writer has used a drop cap. They have used the same font and design that they used for the title for the drop cap as well. The text has been structured into columns due to it being easier to follow when reading; it also looks a lot better than if you have it laid out like a story.

On the double page spread it doesn’t mention the writer from what I can see it does mention Matt Salacuse, the man who took the photo for this double page spread. It doesn’t have any white spaces or guttering, the text seems to fill it up quite well and uses most of the room given which is good because more text has been fitted on.

The average age for this magazine is 24 this reflects on the things they have used on their reader profile. Most of the things are what late teenagers and adults are into. They are also things men are more interested in than women.
