HOW DO I PRINT A MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT?
1. To print a document, click on File.
2. Next you will see the Backstage View. Choose “Print”.
3. This screen shows your printing options. You can choose a printer but, when printing in the Academic Learning Center, please use the default printer.
4. You can choose what pages you would like to print. The default setting is Print All Pages but, by clicking on the button, you can see additional choices.
a. You can select text in the document and print just that by choosing Print Selection.
b. You can print only the page you are working on by choosing Print Current Page.
c. You can print specific pages, sections, or ranges of pages by choosing Custom Print.
5. You can select how you would like your document to print. The default in the Academic Learning Centers is Print Both Sides but you can choose to Print One Sided. If you are printing on both sides, you can also choose to flip pages along the long edge (the most common choice; books are printed this way) or to flip pages on the short edge (like a tablet).
6. In the Academic Learning Centers, please use the defaults for collating, stapling, and paper size. At home, choose what your printer is capable of.
7. Orientation and Margins are usually selected in your document rather than at the printer but you can make changes here.
8. Finally, there are options for printing multiple pages per sheet. This is a great way to keep your printing costs down!
