2. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN BACKYARD

It is better not to use pesticides and use alternatives because these pesticides might run off into surface waters and ,ultimately , in estuary.

Preserve existing trees and plant new trees and shrubs to help prevent erosion and promote infiltration of water into the soil.

3. PRACTICE GOOD HOUSEKEEPING

Keep litter, pet wastes, leaves and grass clippings out of street gutters and drainage to prevent their entrance into streams that might flow to estuaries.

Never dump any household, automotive, or gardening wastes into a storm drain.

Take used motor oil, paints and other hazardous house hold materials to proper collection sites such as approved service stations or designated landfills.

NEVER DUMP ANY HOUSEHOLD, GARDENING WASTES, PET WASTES GRASS CLIPPINGS ETC.

PUT THIS MATERIALS TO PROPER COLLECTION SITES.

4. RESPECT YOUR ESTUARY

Avoid entering sensitive habitat areas with you boat or other motorized watercraft.

Maintain your boat engine to prevent oil and gas leaks and tuned the engine to conserve energy.

If you are in boat, keep all waste in a safe place to be disposed properly when you’re back on land.
