Safety and SecurityWe provide you with a safe environment in which to live and learn. Residence Hall exterior doors are locked 24/7 and you must be a build-ing resident with card access to enter. Security cameras are located on all exterior doors of residence halls. The UCA Police Department leads the way in creating a secure environ-ment for students. We have 28 full-time sworn police officers providing around-the-clock law enforcement, public safety, emergency management and 911 call services to the UCA community. The UCA PD provides emergency notifications for weather or campus-related situations, motor assistance for dead batteries or keys locked in the car and a security escort program to assist students across campus. Ad-ditionally, UCA PD officers live on campus as part of the residential police program.

Student Health

UCA has several health services to give students peace of mind. The Student Health Clinic (SHC) is staffed by a physician and four nurse practitioners, all with prescriptive authority. They diagnose, treat and monitor the needs of their patients. In addition to general family practice services, the SHC offers lab and x-ray work, as well as immunizations and a variety of procedures. The Women’s Health Clinic meets the needs of our female population. In most cases, the cost is covered through tuition and fees. UCA promotes health education through our Wellness Center, counseling services and the HPER Center. Counseling services are accredited and include programs for college adjustment, test anxiety, relationship concerns and depression.

The “Safe@UCA” program allows you to sign up for campus alert texts and email

notifications on myUCA. Operation ID is a nationwide program that allows you to

register items to help you easily recover property in the event of theft.

Intramurals (residence hall division)The purpose of the Intramural sports program is to provide an opportunity for every student at UCA to participate in some type of competitive sports activity as regularly as his or her inter-est, ability and time will permit. Intramural activities range from traditional sports such as flag football, basketball and slow-pitch softball to more non-traditional sports such as table tennis, badminton and track.

Resident Housing Association (RHA)RHA at UCA is a chapter of the world’s largest student-run organization. It is the voice for all students who live on campus. RHA facilitates campus-wide events that promote inclusiveness and fun. The organization offers leadership opportunities through regional, national and inter-national conferences each year. RHA is about making new friends, getting involved on campus and gaining valuable resumé experience.

Cubs Cubs are elected students representatives from each residence hall or apartment complex. They cater to the residents in each complex by having social and academically focused events every month. Being a Cub allows students to gain valuable experience with event planning, budgeting and marketing. Additionally, these experiences may lead to other leadership roles at UCA.

Registered Student OrganizationsWe have 200+ student organizations on campus, so you’re sure to find one that works for you.

Greek LifeScholarship, leadership, brotherhood and sisterhood, community service and social activities are the key elements of the fraternities and sororities at UCA. There are currently 23 different organizations that make up UCA’s diverse Greek community.

CA M P U S A M E N I T I E SUCA is home to one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation. Lush gardens adorned with seasonal flowers and billowing shade trees complement the Georgian-architectural style of campus buildings. On warm after-noons, students can be found studying, visiting with friends and listening to music around the beautiful fountain at Harding Centennial Plaza. The fountain and plaza area is one of Conway’s signature landmarks and is a popular location for campus events.

Torreyson LibraryStudents who prefer a quiet place to study often turn to Torreyson Library complete with computers, reference materials, group meet-ing rooms for student projects, 24-hour study center and an on-site Starbucks.

Student CenterThe student center is located in the center of campus and is where you can go to enjoy activities such as movie nights, guest speakers and musical performances. It is also the home to the university bookstore, post office, convenience store, coffee shop, ATM, study lounges and food court.

Health and FitnessStudents who like to stay active visit the Health, Physical Education and Recre-ation (HPER) Center. The HPER Center is a 115,000-square-foot recreation center with basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts, a walk/jog track, pool, exercise class studios and a fitness center complete with a full slate of cardio and strength-training equipment. Students can also get in touch with nature and take a jog along the gravel trail through the Jewel Moore Nature Reserve, located just outside the HPER Center.

The ArtsThe Baum Gallery inside McCastlain Hall is an educational art museum that serves as a cultural resource for the state. The gallery par-ticipates in national and international touring exhibitions and programs and curates original exhibits. When world-class dance troupes, plays and musicians come to campus, they perform at Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall. UCA students receive free or discounted tickets to many of these performances.

D I N I N G O P T I O N SDiverse ChoicesCampus dining provides an array of options and menus that can tempt any palate, and our dining service staff is com-mitted to providing a quality program to students.

When hunger strikes, Christian Cafeteria is a great place to go. Three meals a day are served Monday through Friday from a variety of stations that offer culturally diverse menu selections such as pasta, pizza, grill and deli selections, all-day breakfast, traditional favorites, ethnic dishes, fresh market fruits and veggies, local selections and more. The cafeteria accommodates special dietary needs, provides vegan and vegetarian options and offers individual support for those with food allergies. The cafeteria serves brunch and dinner on weekends. There are many other on-campus dining options as well. From pizza to sushi, we’ve got you covered all over campus. Enjoy dining choices like Quiznos, Chick-Fila, Mooyah, Pizza Hut and Einstein Bros Bagels.

Meal PlansStudent meal plans are designed to suit your needs. All students living in on-campus housing are required to have a meal plan. All of these meal plans come with Dining Dollars (DD). There are three basic types of meal plans:

TraditionalYou choose the number of meals per week you want to eat in the cafeteria during the semester. There is also a Total Access Plan where you can go the cafeteria as many times as you like.

BlockYou receive a set number of meals for the semester. These meals can be used in the cafeteria or through the meal equivalency options at other dining loca-tions. Block plans expire at the end of each semester. Meals don’t roll over.

Dining DollarsThese plans are only available to those students living in our apartments and Greek Village. You have a set amount to spend for the semester. Each purchase you make at any of our food service loca-tions are deducted from your starting balance. DD expire at the end of summer session II and are non-refundable.

Which Residential College is right for you? Each residential college has unique themes and

special traditions, and each is associated with an

academic college. Whether you are majoring or just

interested in the arts or communication, science

or technology, education or leadership, health and

wellness, or business and innovation, you will be

welcomed by faculty who teach in your areas of

interest. Classes, programs, competitions, clubs,

service-learning opportunities, camping and canoeing,

and even lunches with college administrators will

make your first year at UCA spectacular.

UCA brings living and learning together through a residential college system that is unlike anywhere else in Arkansas. We’re the only four-year public university in the state to make this experience available to all incom-ing freshmen.

Our five residential colleges allow you to take UCA Core classes where you live, which is a huge advantage on rainy days and early morn-ings. Each residential college offers a sup-portive community of like-minded students

and an atmosphere that results in higher grades and a greater likelihood of returning for the next semester. Your goal is to graduate and these living and learning communities will help you reach that goal!

Our student staff includes a resident coordi-nator, resident assistants, peer coaches and mentors who are trained to guide you through your first year. We also have faculty-in-resi-dence: professors who live in buildings with their families and pets.

Associated with the College of Business, Biz@Bear Hall prepares students for the rapidly evolving business world. Ambi-tious students majoring or minoring in accounting, business, administration, economics, finance, insurance and risk management, marketing, management, management information systems, public scholarship and community engagement, or innovation and entrepreneurship will find the networking opportunities will benefit them far into the future.

faculty member and a large student staff who live in the building and will guide you into the college way of learning.

for professional development, connections to future colleagues, and reference letters.

• Discovery: College is an adventure and your residential college adventure starts now! Any incoming freshman can apply to live in a residential college through the MyUCA housing channel. Click and apply early because space is limited.
