Aussie Lane Construction first began business in 2009. The company is owned and operated by Nick Lane who was born in Australia where he began his building career at the age of 14 working on job sites during school holidays. After graduating from high school, Nick began working in the industry full time, acquiring his building apprenticeship. This process required working extended hours on-site for 4 years while Nick juggled the demands of being a full time student and a semi-professional rugby player. In 2002, at the age of 24, he moved to Texas and played a season of football with Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. After finding out that American football wasn’t the game for him he moved to Austin to renew his lifelong dream and begin building again. LuAnne Butler is a third generation builder, following in the footsteps of her father, Woody Butler and grandfather, Rex Butler. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. She accredits learning the ins and outs of the building industry from years of work, building and designing homes with her father.
LuAnne still takes part in the Baylor University design program, demonstrating home construction in several phases to current students taking Building Construction courses. She also participates in giving comments on the yearly sophomore review of the student’s projects.
